Chapter 3 - The Drama Queen

Unknown's POV:

I looked at her as she walked past me. She was the first girl to ever ignore me. Does she not know who I am? Girls would usually come running to me. She smelled like wine. Is she drunk? Who would attend classes drunk? Kids these days…. She disappeared around the corner. The only thing that remained of her is the lingering scent she left behind. I was too focused on the corner that I didn't notice Jack standing next to me.

"Knox!"

Jack called out, screaming in my ears loudly, that it made my eardrums buzz violently. I turn to look at him coldly, but deeply, I am annoyed.

" What happened to you? I have been calling your name for a year!" he exaggerated. He continues asking his useless questions.

"Um, actually, what's with the girl?"

He seemed perplexed, so I answered him calmly, masking my emotions.

"She ignored me when I talked to her"

I hope I won't get laugh- before I could finish my thought, Jack burst into laughter. Not this again. He began teasing me.

"Oh, don't cry, it's fine if you didn't get attention. I bet any girl would throw herself at you later."

I groan. Why did I make this man my friend? I couldn't help but snap at him. He is the only guy who would crawl under my skin.

"Shut the fuck up!"

Jack just kept laughing. I swear, when we get back home, I am going to snap that neck of his.

"Stop laughing! It's weird?"

I spat unintentionally. He finally calmed down and decided that he would listen to me.

"Fine, fine, what's so weird about her?"

He asked, ready to listen. I keep thinking about why it felt weird. It may be that she caught my attention…..the scent is very addictive. Get a hold of yourself, Knox.

"What's weird is she seemed drunk" I stopped, but then continued ", Who in their right mind would come to classes drunk?"

"Dude, why do you look like an alpha going on a hunt?! Don't tell me you're going to do the same to her…. Oh god, I can't stay with you"

Just then, the bell rang, signaling classes ending. Girls surrounded me from all sides, asking various things. I hate when they do this. I can't blame myself for being handsome. Jack suddenly whispered in my ear.

"Need help, popular boy?"

If I used his help once, it would work, just as I was about to nod, he ran off, laughing. So he was mocking me. It was more of a statement than a question. Okay, we can deal with this alone, after all, I am a-.

Bella's POV:

Entering the class, the mixed scents hit my nose. All these smells give me a headache. I look towards the chairs to think of where to sit. It was already difficult to walk with my leg, so to think of going that far for a chair is already tiring. What I wasn't aware of was that the professor took notice of my leg. His voice came out worried as he spoke to me

"Bella, right?" his gaze fell on my leg as he pondered what to say before he continued. "Is your leg okay?"

I nod silently, not wanting to attract more attention than I already am. The professor looked over at the students sitting in the first row. He asked them if they could kindly give up their seats for me. I was so embarrassed for causing such a scene in front of the class. After no one volunteered, the professor took matters into his own hands. His eyes locked in with a girl, and he asked sternly.

"Samantha, could you kindly give your seat to Bella just for today?"

Even at the simplest question, she made a scene. Samantha refused saying

" What? I came here first; it's not my problem. She hurt her leg."

I was flabbergasted at the drama. Quit the drama queen. I was about to tell the professor that it was fine and I could take any other seat, but he cut me off by saying to Samantha in an angry voice.

"You are wasting time."

Suddenly, a voice came from behind, saying,

"Sir, I will."

A boy said and got up to go for the last chair in the class. I appreciate the kind act. I smile shyly and sit in the now-empty chair. I really wanted to go over there and thank that person. I turned to my right and saw a cute girl who kept throwing glances at the boy on my left. They were already looking at each other and communicating through glances. I think they are best friends, but I'm not entirely certain. The cute girl then looked at me and smiled.

"What's your name?"

I was startled by her question. Very outgoing, huh? I stayed silent for a moment, taking in her features. She had an aquiline nose, an outgoing smile, and brown hair with white strands that made me feel as though I was swimming in a lake of dark chocolate mixed with white chocolate. Cute bangs hung just above her brows, and her caramel-colored irises made me pause. How could a person be so beautiful?

Her face soon turned to confusion as I had been silent for a long time, and I caught a whiff of her chocolate scent; even her pheromones were reminiscent of her. I snapped back and replied in a more friendly manner.

"I am Bella."

She smiled as I answered; I thought I would have a hard time getting over that cute face. The boy she was casting glances at chimed in. He had a pointy nose that suited his face shape. The sharp jaw indicated he was an alpha. Although I wasn't keen on his crimson hair, it was acceptable. His green eyes drew all the attention on his face, giving the vibe of forests, as if I were walking through a woodland filled with tall trees, much like his height. I may have been the short one since we were sitting, but he still towered over me.

"I am Noah, by the way, and that over there is my best friend Mia."

They seem to suit each other. I am in a positive space here. I couldn't ignore the tone when he specifically said "my best friend." It doesn't seem like he considers her his best friend. I looked closely at his face as he gazed at her; his green eyes were solely on her, not even glancing at me. I could tell there was a long history between the two.

"Nice to meet you both."

I responded and smiled at Mia. Her wide, innocent eyes widened slightly. I think she liked it. I know I promised myself not to make friends and to focus on my studies, but I think it won't hurt to be with them for now. After that brief conversation, the professor began the class, and we remained focused, taking notes.

An hour finished, and I gathered my stuff ready to leave, until Mia pulled me down gently. The students left, and the class was now empty. She suddenly proposed something that made me think about our friendship. Is it this short that she would trust me this much and ask me to have lunch with them in the cafeteria?

"Hey, Bella, how about you come to the cafeteria with us?"

" Yeah, it will be fun, I swear!" Noah chimed in.

It wouldn't hurt if I… joined. I don't have anything for the evening, so it's fine. I agreed.

" Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
