Chapter 53 - chapter 53: I won’t go back

(Taekyun's office)

The meeting finally ended in the afternoon.

Taekyun stepped out of the conference room, his expression unreadable, and walked straight toward his office.

The corridor was quiet, only the sound of his steady footsteps echoing faintly.

Inside his office,

His secretary followed and placed several files neatly on his desk.

"Sir,"

She said carefully,

"we have the next meeting with the RL department at 3 p.m."

Taekyun gave a brief nod.

As she left, closing the door behind her, he leaned back in his chair.

His head pressed against the backrest, eyes closing for just a moment.

Exhaustion washed over him.

Uninvited, memories from the night before surfaced.

Haneul's face.

The way his voice had trembled.

The way his body had clung to him, desperate, vulnerable.

Taekyun's jaw tightened.

He shook his head sharply, straightening up and opening the files in front of him.

He forced his focus back to work, but his neck felt strangely hot, his Alpha instincts stirring despite himself.

Downstairs,

Atmosphere in the office suddenly shifted.

"Oh….. it's Miss Nayeon."

Employees straightened instantly, bowing as a tall woman stepped inside.

Kim Nayeon.

Taekyun's sister.

She entered the building with a fierce presence, her aura sharp and overwhelming.

It had been a long time since she had come here, and her sudden appearance sent a ripple through the staff.

Some employees covered their mouths in shock.

"waaahh....

She's changed a lot…"

"She looks exactly like Director Taekyun." "Yeah… like an exact copy."

Nayeon ignored every whisper.

She stepped into the elevator angrily, her expression cold, her posture rigid.

She looked like the male version of Taekyun same sharp features, same controlled fury but her Alpha presence was wilder, like a wolf with bared fangs.

Manager Young Gu hurried in after her, tension clear on his face.

The elevator doors closed.

Even as they rose, the whispers continued.

"She came after such a long time"

"She looks even more dangerous now."

"She's an Alpha right?"

"Huh.... ohh yes... why am I blushing"

While,

The elevator stopped at Taekyun's floor.

The doors opened.

Nayeon walked straight toward Taekyun's office without hesitation.

Outside,

Taekyun's secretary stood up quickly when she saw her.

"Miss"

Without a word, Nayeon pushed the office door open.

Hard.

She stepped inside.

Taekyun looked up at the sudden intrusion, his eyes narrowing slightly.

Behind her, the secretary and Manager Young followed, flustered.

Nayeon turned sharply.

"Get out."

They froze.

Taekyun stood up slowly, his expression cold.

He looked at them once, and they understood immediately.

They nodded and stepped out, closing the door behind them.

Silence fell.

Taekyun faced her.

"What's wrong?"

He genuinely hadn't expected Nayeon to ever step into this office again.

Nayeon strode toward him, stopping right in front of his desk.

Her eyes burned with anger as she stared straight at him.

"I don't know what you're planning this time," she said sharply.

"But stay away from Jina."

Taekyun slowly sat back down.

"What do you mean,"

He asked calmly,

"stay away from Jina?"

Nayeon sat in the chair opposite him, her fists clenched.

"Taekyun,"

She said, her voice tight,

"in my entire life, I never asked you, Mother, or Father for anything."

She leaned forward.

"But I'm telling you this clearly. Tell Mother to stop."

"She's forcing Jina these days trying to marry her to you."

Taekyun's expression hardened.

"I'm not getting married,"

He said firmly.

"And not to Jina."

Nayeon's temper flared instantly.

"You know better,"

She snapped.

"No one listens to our opinions in these matters."

"So make it clear to her."

"Because I'm telling you"

Her voice shook with intensity.

"I'll give up everything for Jina."

"No matter what I have to face."

"I'll destroy everything if I have to."

Taekyun looked at his sister.

She was older than him, yet standing there now, she looked vulnerable in a way she never allowed herself to be.

Even while speaking with the same hatred and anger she always carried, he could see it.

She was opening up.

The same sister who never shared anything about herself was now speaking openly about her lover.

"Jina told me,"

Taekyun said quietly,

"that you're in a relationship...."

Nayeon's eyes flashed.

"You met her?"

"I did"

"I'm making it clear,"

Taekyun continued evenly.

"No matter how you think of me, or what Mother is planning nothing like that is going to happen."

Nayeon stood abruptly.

"Alright then"

"I just wanted to make it clear to you,"

She said.

"This morning, Mother brought it up again. They're forcing Jina."

"And when I objected, they kicked me out of residence."

Her lips curved into a bitter smile.

"I'm moving to Busan with Jina for now.

To our condo."

She looked straight at him.

"And I'm telling you for the last time don't go back on what you said today."

"If you do, I'll forget the little bit of relationship left between us."

"And I won't hesitate to destroy anyone."

Her voice turned cold.

"They never gave me what I needed.

They kept me like a pet."

"So I'll pay them back the same."

Taekyun stood as well, his eyes burning with anger.

Nayeon turned toward the door.

As she walked out, she threw one last sentence over her shoulder.

"Look after your Omega."

"Mother is preparing very well to destroy whoever comes close to you."

And then she left.

[Meanwhile, at Taekyun's residence]

"Come here, Haneul."

"Mom no, no, Mom!"

Haneul screamed, his voice breaking as he cried out.

Darkness surrounded him.

"Dad don't! Don't... slow down the car!"

"Hyung Hyung, I'm scared!"

His mother's voice echoed.

"Haneul, son, come back to your world."

"Come back to Eunoia."

"You know you'll end there."

"You won't be able to live long there if you don't."

Haneul turned to his brother.

"Hyung, tell Dad to slow down!"

Through the front mirror, he saw it.

The bridge ahead was broken.

"We'll die Dad, stop!"

His father turned.

"Son, you know, right?"

"Existing in this world is scary."

"You'll suffer."

"You'll have to give up something in your life or someone's life if you want to stay."

"Come back."

Tears streamed down Haneul's face.

His mother suddenly opened the car door.

His brother pushed him out.

The car drove straight into the sea.

"Mom! Dad! Hyung ....no!"

"No....."

He tried to stand, but his legs were weak.

Sirens. Police. Ambulances. Rain. Screams.

He tried to scream too, but his voice was stuck.

From deep within the sea, a voice echoed.

"Come back, Haneul come back."

"You'll suffer."

"You'll lose, just like your brother."

"If not your life you'll lose something precious."

"A child." "You'll lose it." "Come back."

"Ah Mom….. please no..

Dad"

Haneul's eyes flew open.

He was drenched in sweat.

"No… no"

A servant rushed into Haru's room.

"What happened, Haneul?"

His heart was racing.

"No.... nothing,"

He said shakily.

"It was just a bad dream."

"I'll bring you some water."

"No, I'm okay. You can go."

She hesitated, then nodded.

"If you need anything, just call me."

After she left,

Haneul sat there, knees pulled to his chest, arms wrapped tightly around them.

Tears fell freely.

"Why now?"

He whispered.

It was the same. The same accident.

The same way.

"But this time

Why

Hyung didn't come out with him"

"I don't want to go back,"

He cried.

The words echoed in his mind.

You'll lose a child.

He looked at Haru's photo in front of him.

"No no. It's just a dream."

"It's not possible."

"I won't."

"I'll forget it."

He wiped his tears.

"I'll stay next to them."

"Nothing will happen."

His voice trembled, but he forced the words out.

"I know Taekyun will protect us."

"Nothing will happen to me or Haru."
