Riri: "So, what is it?"
Sasha doesn't know if what she's looking at is real. In her inventory is the most sought-after item in the game: a key that can unlock the door to the Frost Tree. This is a tree rumored to give whoever defeats the boss inside the power to become the most powerful player in the game.
Sasha: "It's... the key to the Frost Tree."
Lizzy: "Wait, are you serious?"
Riri: "No way! I thought it was just some dumb lore the Devs put in the game or some kind of thing to mess with people."
Sasha: "Nope. It's real, and it's in my damn inventory."
Lizzy: "Are you sure it's not a bug?"
Sasha reloads her inventory multiple times, trying to make sure it's not a bug.
Sasha: "Nope, it's not a bug. It's there, I have it."
Sasha and her friends talk about what they should do. They know that if this gets out, the top guilds in the game will look for them and try to get the item from them, so they decide to keep it a secret until they can figure out a plan.
Sasha: "Okay, I think I'm going to stay on for a bit longer."
Riri: "Okay, be careful. I'll see you later."
Lizzy: "Yeah, me too. Bye."
Sasha: "Bye, you guys. Love you."
Lizzy and Riri: "Love you too."
Lizzy and Riri logged off, leaving Sasha all alone to do whatever she wanted. As she was going back up the hill to get to town, she noticed something. It was a person running down the hill, and they were running from a bear.
Chase: "Oh my God, another person! Hi, can you help me?"
Sasha: "Help you with what?"
As the bear turns around and goes back to its area, Chase explains to Sasha how he's new to the game, and Sasha decides to help him out.
Sasha: "I love new players; the community needs to get bigger anyway."
Chase: "So, do you think you can show me around?"
Sasha: "Sure, of course, come on."
Sasha grabs Chase's hand, pulling him toward the town. Chase blushes a bit from this, as he's never had a girl hold his hand like that before.
Sasha: "So, what do you know about the game already?"
Chase: "Umm, kind of nothing."
Sasha yawns, realizing that this is going to be a long rest of her day.
Sasha: "So, why are you even playing this game? Why'd you get a VR?"
Chase: "Well, I just wanted to get away from family stuff, you know? Drama, blah blah blah, you know."
As Chase stumbles about reasons why he got the VR, Sasha already knows why.
Sasha: "I understand family drama. I get it."
Chase: "Oh, okay, good. Yeah."
Sasha explains the basics of mobs in the game: how basic mobs are usually one-hit features (you can usually kill them with one hit if you get a good one, at least), but more advanced mobs have a gem you have to hit. It's usually somewhere on the body of whatever mob you're attacking, but bosses do have health bars.
Chase: "Oh, okay, that's nice. I mean, I tried to fight a snow bunny, and it kind of pushed me. I couldn't really get a good hit on it."
Sasha: "Yeah, snow bunnies are really jumpy and annoying, but you'll get used to it."
After showing Chase around and explaining the basics of the game, she offers him dinner in-game.
Sasha: "So, what do you think?"
Chase: "Of what?"
Sasha: "The damn food that's in your mouth!"
Chase laughs, realizing what she's talking about, and says that the food's good and thanks her for it.
Sasha: "You're welcome."
Chase yawns and says, "I really want to take a nap, but I also don't want to be able to hear my family..."
Sasha: "You can do that, you know."
Chase looks up and goes, "Really? I can?"
Sasha giggles and says, "Of course you can."
Sasha: "It's called the Sleep System. You can close your eyes if you're lying down in a bed or on grass, and the system can pause MMO (Monster Magic Online) and put you in a sleep-like state until you wake up and it unpauses the game."
Chase: "Really? That's so cool."
Sasha: "Yes, it is. Other than how, when you sleep, your body stays in the game, so people can mess with you or kill you."
Chase: "Really? That's horrible! Is it the same when you log out?"
Sasha: "No, when you log out, it takes your avatar out of the game."
Chase: "Okay, well, I don't have an apartment, and I would rather not die."
Sasha: "Yeah, don't die, since I gave you a bunch of stuff."
Chase: "Yeah, thanks for that again."
Sasha says, "You're welcome," and offers him to take a nap at her apartment.
