Chapter 3 - 04 - Rize’s Confession

"Angel Incubus Physique?" Seeing those words, Hayashi froze for a moment.

Angel… and Incubus? Together? In an instant, his mind conjured up the image of a lewd, obsessive elder-sister-type succubus with pure white angel wings glowing in divine radiance.

Just thinking about it made his throat dry and his body burn with an odd heat.

[Angel-Incubus Physique (Legendary Talent):

The perfect fusion of the purest angel and the most alluring succubus.

With this gift, the host's charm will skyrocket, becoming a truly unique existence.

Whether human or ghoul, you possess an irresistible allure—an attraction they cannot defy.

Background: Long ago, the holy angels and the corrupted succubi fought a war spanning tens of thousands of years. Only when both sides were at death's door did they finally lay down their hatred. Their souls merged, giving birth to this one-of-a-kind physique.]

As the system's prompt fell silent, a swirl of black and white light enveloped his body.

In that haze, Hayashi swore he actually saw a seductive succubus and a radiant angel waving at him.

When the black-and-white glow fully fused into him, Hayashi slowly opened his eyes.

Oddly, there wasn't any special pleasure or comfort. If anything, he regretted not sneaking in a few more looks at those two "sisters".

Checking his body carefully from top to bottom, he realized the changes weren't huge. His features grew a little sharper, his skin paler and smoother, his frame slightly taller — youthful, radiant, and more delicate overall.

But then, catching a reflection in broken glass, Hayashi froze. His hair had turned white. His eyes… crimson red!

Just like the protagonists in anime or webnovels. White hair and red eyes. Damn stylish!

And considering he'd never been bad-looking to begin with, now he carried a lazy, cold aura that made him seem even more untouchable.

"If melancholy were a gift…" Hayashi muttered to himself, glass shard in hand.

But there was one flaw…It made sense for humans to find him charming—but ghouls too?

If it meant ghouls were attracted romantically, that was fine. But if it meant he smelled like food to them, then hell no.

Hayashi had no intention of being eaten in one bite just because of this "gift".

And if this talent had an epic upgrade someday…Wouldn't he end up even tastier and more alluring than Kaneki?

What if everywhere he went, ghouls followed him, drooling? Would he end up topping the "Ghouls' Must-Eat List"?

The thought alone gave him a toothache.

Sure, his body was strong. But the idea of being hunted 24/7 by ghouls hungry for a bite was just… troublesome.

Then again… maybe he was overthinking it. Perhaps his allure to ghouls wasn't that strong. Maybe it was just a bonus effect, not as exaggerated as it sounded.

Comforting himself with that thought, Hayashi exhaled.

"Little investigator boy, aren't you going to drive me away?"

A rich, alluring, mature woman's voice rang from behind.

"Huh?"

Startled, Hayashi turned around.

And there she was—a tall, stunning figure stepping into view.

He'd gotten so caught up in the fight earlier he'd almost forgotten…Rize was still here.

"What's wrong, little handsome? Not going to drive me away?" Rize smiled lightly, her beautiful eyes sparkling with playful mischief.

From the brutal way he'd taken down Jason, she was nearly certain of one thing: This man was strong. Terrifyingly strong.

But how had she never heard of someone like him before? Not a whisper, not a trace—it was like he didn't exist until today.

What, did he just crawl out of a crack in the stone?

Confusion flickered across Rize's alluring eyes.

And it wasn't just his strength—his looks were dangerously good too. More importantly… as a human, he smelled far too delicious.

A faint fragrance drifted off him, subtle yet intoxicating. It was like he was constantly calling out to her: "Eat me, eat me now!"

For a ghoul, that temptation was impossible to ignore.

Just looking at him, Rize licked her plump lips with a slender finger, her gaze clouding with desire.

He was the enemy, yes. But the more she saw, the more fascinated she became.

Yet he was too dangerous. Even his control over his power was flawless — tight and precise.

He'd fooled her at first, acting like a trembling, powerless Rank-3 weakling. But the moment Jason showed up, the act dropped, and the predator emerged.

Clearly, he'd played possum to lure Jason out and take them both down.

What a clever, deadly man…

Studying the white-haired youth before her, Rize narrowed her eyes.

An investigator of his level wouldn't let a ghoul walk free so easily. So chances were, a fight was inevitable…

Her body tensed instinctively.

"What did you say?" Hayashi blinked, realizing too late he'd spaced out.

"I said, aren't you going to drive me away?"

"…Mm. No. You can leave." Recovering, Hayashi waved her off carelessly.

"…Eh?"

So blunt, so casual — it caught Rize off guard. The teasing glint in her eyes dimmed, her taut nerves instantly loosening.

Because seriously…What kind of investigator just lets a ghoul walk away like that?

This guy couldn't be normal. But then again, after watching him tear Jason apart, nothing about him seemed normal anyway…

After a pause, Rize decided to test him once more.

"You really mean to let me go, little handsome?" she asked with a coy cough.

"Yeah. Real as it gets." Hayashi waved lazily, utterly indifferent.

Jason was worth killing — for justice, yes, but also because there'd been a system reward. Rize, on the other hand? Killing her offered no benefit, just more hassle.

"…Eh?"

She studied him, realizing he was serious, not joking.

"You really are…" After a moment, Rize broke into a dazzling smile.

"You always manage to surprise me, don't you?"

A wave of fragrance enveloped him as her soft, pale arms slid around Hayashi's neck from behind.

Duang~

A warm, bouncy softness pressed against his back.

"…Seriously?!" The sensation made Hayashisuck in a sharp breath.

"Young one, you're tempting big sis every second of the day~"

"Your scent is so sweet… so divine…"

"I wonder how you'd taste?"

Her hot breath tickled his ear, her voice dripping with sultry sweetness.

Before Hayashi could react, he felt a cool wetness on his cheek.

Rize had stretched out her pink tongue, licking the blood that still clung to his face from his battle with Jason.

"Mmm… delicious. Simply unforgettable~"

She licked her lips, her delicate finger hooking under his chin, cheeks faintly flushed.

"I think… I might already be falling for you, little one~"
