The Council branch near Casco Town.
"Who goes there?" the guards at the entrance asked in unison.
"I am Kael, a member of the Fairy Tail guild. During a mission, I discovered traces of a dark guild's activities. I'm here to report the situation and request authorization to eliminate the guild." Kael held up his Fairy Tail emblem as proof, then casually tossed the cloaked figure's body to the ground behind him.
"A dark guild?"
"Please wait in the hall. We'll report this to the branch chief." The guards exchanged a glance, quickly removing the body for investigation and sending someone to notify the branch director.
About ten minutes later.
Tap tap tap…
Several council members in uniform emerged from the inner hall. Leading them was a man in his forties with a thick beard and neatly parted hair. Behind him walked a man and a woman—the man with short, tidy hair and glasses, the woman with long hair cascading over slightly chubby cheeks, giving her a touch of cuteness.
"Greetings, Branch Chief Ails.""Secretary Sora.""Captain Zakari.""Hello, Kael."
After introductions and handshakes, the branch chief first inquired about the mission. Kael detailed the situation, emphasizing that the dark guild had been experimenting on innocent civilians and needed to be eradicated immediately.
"Branch Chief, here's the guild info obtained from the emblem on the body." A runner arrived, handing over the documents.
The chief examined them thoughtfully. Beside him, Secretary Sora clenched her fists, brow furrowed, teeth clenched. "Damn… trash."
Captain Zakari, glasses hiding his emotions, followed Sora's lead, speaking coldly. "Trash indeed needs proper cleaning." He adjusted his glasses, revealing the icy resolve in his eyes.
"What are you waiting for, Chief? Dispatch a team to wipe them out!" Sora pressed urgently, frustrated at the chief's hesitation.
"This isn't an ordinary guild. It's beyond our branch's capacity. We need to report to headquarters to send a proper task force." Ails explained reluctantly.
"No. Time doesn't wait. If we wait for headquarters, it'll be too late. I can handle this solo. You just need to confirm this is a dark guild." Kael said firmly. He had planned to handle it alone. At seventy percent of his current strength, he could even contend for the Holy Ten ranks—eradicating this guild was well within his ability.
"The evidence you found is enough to confirm it. But you… alone…" Ails trailed off, skeptical, glancing at the young man before him. The other two council members mirrored his doubts.
They respected Kael's power—he had defeated one of the top five mages of the guild—but one person taking on an entire guild? Impossible in their eyes.
"Unless… you want me to demonstrate my power? Contact Master Makarov of Fairy Tail. His confirmation should suffice." Kael replied calmly.
"…Master, this is necessary. I must do this," Kael explained to Makarov seriously. Fear gnawed at him—he knew the guild master cared deeply for each member.
Makarov remained silent for a moment. Then he spoke.
"Kael, listen. The power beyond perseverance comes solely from the will to persist. Magic is not some miracle—it is the fusion of the natural flow of energy in your body with the flow of nature itself. Only by concentrating your spirit, pouring in all your soul, can you form true magic. If you believe this is right, follow your path. Pursue what you truly believe in. That is what a Fairy Tail mage is. We'll be waiting for you at the guild, understand, boy?"
"Yes, Master. I understand," Kael replied, feeling a warm surge fill his chest.
"Good. Then go."
At Fairy Tail…
"This kid… he's already that strong, and confident enough to take on a whole guild solo." Makarov observed, trusting Kael's sense of justice.
In a valley of the Aetdor Mountains—Dark Sky Guild.
"Master, why the urgency calling us back?" a guild member asked.
"Kali, there's trouble. I received a message… someone is attacking our guild. Our activities are exposed." The tattooed, burly man at the top of the hall spoke darkly.
"How is that possible?"
"He's one of the top five mages. Even facing elite mages from other guilds, he can escape if necessary!"
"Then our opponent must be incredibly strong," said Aurelius, the first seat, arrogant and excited.
"Careful, the corrosive magic is leaking," warned Manchira, second seat, her voice cold and precise, glancing at a half-corroded table.
"Wait… it seems they're here."
"Holy Light Magic: Yasakani Jewel!" A detached voice rang out in the sky. Golden rays shot from Kael's hands, striking the guild.
Boom! The Dark Sky Guild buildings collapsed instantly; members were killed or injured.
"Damn it! Who are you?!"
"Oh? Blocking my attack? Not bad." Kael hovered, taunting the survivors below.
The council captain Zakari, protected by the Holy Shield, observed from a distance. "Incredible… he eliminated most of them in a single strike."
"Wind Magic: Furious Dragon Tornado!""Corrosion Magic: Bone-Eating Venom!""Combined Magic: Bone-Eating Dragon Tornado!"
A ten-meter black tornado engulfed Kael, infused with corrosive magic. This attack could pulverize steel—and yet, Kael remained unharmed.
"Did you finish them?" First and Third Seats had unleashed combined magic.
"Not even close," Kael said from above, eyes on the remaining enemies.
"Holy Light Magic: Radiant Stars!" A golden sphere formed in his hands.
"Justice is a concept that never fades. Darkness may cloud it, but light will always pierce the shadows. I am the light that cuts through darkness. Humans must atone for their sins, and trash like you will descend to hell to repent."
Kael's words reverberated, the golden energy in his hands growing terrifying.
From below, the guild unleashed all their defensive magic. Their leader concentrated everything into a black dome for protection.
"What is that… a second sun?" Council members inside the Holy Shield gasped.
Kael hurled the light sphere. It hit the Dark Sky Guild headquarters with the force of a nuclear explosion—smoke and fire roared, mushroom clouds soared, the valley shook, shockwaves destroyed everything nearby. Fortunately, the council was protected and at a safe distance.
When the smoke cleared, the mountain beside the valley had vanished, leaving a bottomless chasm where the guild once stood. Kael stood beside it, exhaling. Satisfaction surged through him.
Back at the Council branch.
"Records uploaded. This counts as an S-Rank mission. Reward will be deposited to your account, Kael. Take care." Secretary Sora informed him.
"Good. I'm heading back to the guild." Kael nodded, hovering and flying straight toward Fairy Tail.
One day later, Council Headquarters.
"So, Fairy Tail has yet another extraordinary mage.""Indeed. Makarov says, after Gildarts returns, an S-Rank evaluation will be held. Fairy Tail will gain another S-Rank mage.""In a few years, we might consider the Holy Ten evaluation. His power is sufficient, and his conduct has been proven through this incident.""After he passes S-Rank and adulthood, and achieves further merits… eliminating one dark guild isn't enough yet.""Still, he saved many civilians indirectly.""That's true. We'll see what he does next.""Agreed.""Agreed."
A group stood atop a giant blue magic circle, discussing Kael's exploits.
Back at Fairy Tail…
"Kanna, stop worrying about Kael. Don't worry, the master said it's fine." Erza patted Kanna on the shoulder.
"He's that strong, he'll be fine," Miraje added.
Meanwhile, Natsu and Gray argued over when Kael would return, but Erza's intervention kept them in check.
