Today, many believe that only three places exist in the world. Earth, where humans live and die; Heaven, where the souls of those who performed good deeds go; and Hell, where those who have sinned are sent.
But a new place has just appeared in this world — Abyss.
A place no larger than the Circle of Pride. A realm where deathly silence and solitude reign. All one can see are tall, majestic trees reaching about thirty meters high, their trunks black as night and laced with small, crystalline blue veins. Their leaves shimmer in brilliant shades of blue.
And at the center of this small world stands a great tower, about a hundred floors tall, made of obsidian black stone covered in glowing runes that emit a faint, unsettling aura. The tower has no doors or windows — only a large balcony near its upper section.
Upon arriving at this balcony, void of decoration or ornament, one finds a great archway six meters high, without a door. Passing through it reveals a vast chamber — a grand room.
It is filled with tall shelves covered with artifacts of every kind, alongside massive bookcases packed with tomes, each radiating a unique presence and aura.
And at the center of the room? A black obsidian throne, simple yet powerful, adorned only with a few delicate runes.
Seated upon the throne was a tall figure, leaning lazily to one side, his head slightly tilted.
He had a young face, with fine, determined features. His eyes glowed with an intense blue light — almost otherworldly — emanating a sense of immense magical power.
His hair was long and blue, slightly tousled, framing his face and cascading over his shoulders.
He wore a noble, elegant coat in shades of burgundy and gold, with detailed embroidery reminiscent of an aristocrat's uniform or a royal mage's attire.
He possessed large, majestic black wings marked with glowing blue runes. These symbols radiated a mystical aura, as though they were infused with ancient magic.
The man on his throne straightened slightly, his gaze fixed ahead. Lost in thought, he was suddenly pulled from his reverie by a voice echoing from the void.
[ Hello, Caelvor ] said the voice — soft and warm.
"Hello, Carmelita," replied Caelvor with a faint smile upon his face.
"So, Carmelita, what will my mission be in this new universe?" began Caelvor.
"Destroy a world? Save a kingdom from ruin again? Fight gods and steal their secrets? Or maybe rescue a cat stuck in a tree and return it to an old lady?" he added, chuckling lightly.
But Carmelita's reply caught him off guard. Her tone was calm, but her words were short.
[ You will have no more missions. ]
The same voice — yet it carried something new. A tone Caelvor had never heard before: sadness.
Caelvor was shocked by the response. It was the first time Carmelita had ever said such a thing, even after countless journeys through different worlds. Before he could ask for an explanation, her voice spoke again — still soft, but heavy with sorrow.
[ You have just crossed your one hundredth universe… therefore, you have fulfilled the terms of the agreement we made at the beginning of your journey. ]
"The agreement we made…" he murmured, trying to remember.
Caelvor delved into his memories, back to the time when he still lived in his own universe. He remembered little of that life — one he had willingly left behind. The day of his departure had been ordinary, nothing special. After a long day of work, he had returned home, collapsed onto his couch. Not long after, the System appeared and offered him a deal. Yet the exact terms escaped his memory.
"Could you remind me of the terms of our agreement — simply, please? I can't quite recall them," Caelvor asked calmly.
[ Of course. Here are the terms of the contract we made. ]
● The System asks of the Host:
<- The Host must complete 99 main missions across 99 different universes and comply with all requests made by the System. These requests may be many and greatly varied. ->
<- The Host has no set time limit to complete the missions, as some requests may be:
*Very difficult (Destroy a world, fight gods, eradicate a specific race, etc.)
*Highly random (Find a specific person or object in a universe, wait for a special event, etc.)
*Extremely long (Learn and master a spell, help a civilization reach its golden age, etc.)
In short, missions may take anywhere from a few years to thousands — even tens of thousands — of years. ->
<- Upon arrival in the 100th universe, the contract will be declared completed and fulfilled. ->
<- The 100th universe will be chosen by the Host at the start of the contract and will serve as the final reward. It cannot be changed after signing. ->
● The System grants the Host three wishes:
<- 1. Choose the style of the first universe. ->
<- 2. Have a personal dimension that can be shaped freely. ->
<- 3. Carry objects of any kind from one universe to another through the Host's dimension (note: conscious beings or entities cannot travel between universes). ->
[ These are the most important details of the contract, Caelvor, ] she said weakly.
A long silence followed after Carmelita recited the terms that had bound them together for so long. After several minutes, Caelvor finally spoke.
"So... it's really over, Carmelita?" he asked, his voice tinged with sadness.
[ Yes... We've reached the end of our adventure. You are the first Host to have completed all 99 missions with such brilliance — and the one I've spent the most time with... ] she said, her voice a mix of sorrow and pride.
Another silence fell between the Host, Caelvor, and the System he himself had named shortly after the beginning of their long journey across the universes — Carmelita.
"Well, we had fun, didn't we? But I guess everything must end eventually... So, what happens now? Do we just say goodbye like this?" Caelvor asked, breaking the quiet.
[ No. Before I leave, I must at least tell you the name of the universe, its danger level for the Host, and some of its initial conditions — as stated in the contract. ] explained Carmelita.
Caelvor hesitated for a moment — he didn't recall ever seeing the chosen universe mentioned in the Agreement. As he was about to check the contract again, Carmelita began her explanation.
[ The universe the Host has chosen:
• Name: Hazbin Hotel (as a whole)
• Danger level toward the Host: Very Difficult → Easy (The god of this world disappeared long ago, greatly reducing its threat.)
• Universe: Consists of three distinct realms:
- Earth: population = humans
- Heaven: population = angels
- Hell: population = demons
Note: The Host must remember or rediscover this universe on his own.
[ That's all the information I can give you. The rest you'll have to figure out by yourself. Given the near absence of danger, you should have no trouble exploring it. ]
Caelvor pondered her words. Despite his effort, he could only recall three things: a hotel, demons, and Hell. At least, it was a start.
[ The contract is now fulfilled, and my mission is complete. I won't be able to stay with you much longer, Caelvor... ]
Carmelita's voice pulled Caelvor from his thoughts. He finally rose from his throne, took two steps forward, bowed slightly, and said:
"Thank you for giving me this chance — the one that changed my life. I won't lie... I'll miss you. After all these years together, I'll probably feel a bit lonely."
[ Well, I should be the one thanking you — for being such a good Host. Thanks to you, I've learned to understand some emotions myself, ] she said softly, then added playfully:
[ And I'm sure you won't stay alone for long in this universe. With your... hobbies, shall we say? Pervy ones? (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ ]
"Pffff... haha." Caelvor exhaled sharply through his nose, letting out a small laugh as he straightened up.
"Took you long enough to show me your sense of humor..."
"Goodbye, Carmelita," said Caelvor, his voice heavy with emotion.
[ Farewell, Lord Caelvor of the Abyssal Light... ] said Carmelita, one last time — filled with feeling.
[ SYSTEM TERMINATION INITIATED! ]
As the final message from the System that had accompanied him for tens of thousands of years faded away, Lord Caelvor clasped his hands behind his back and began walking toward his vast balcony.
He walked alone, the echo of his footsteps the only sound filling the great hall.
Crossing through the archway, he stepped onto the balcony and continued forward. Only when he reached the parapet did he stop. With a snap of his fingers, a black chair and a small round table appeared.
Lord Caelvor sat down, leaned forward, and snapped his fingers again. A dark shadow materialized atop the table, forming a bottle of red wine and a finely engraved wine glass.
After pouring himself a drink and taking a few sips, Lord Caelvor raised his eyes to the magnificent starry sky he had created himself.
After several quiet minutes, he lifted his arm, rotating his wrist and fingers — magic began to flow. In a dark corner of the sky, tiny stars appeared and aligned to form a single word:
*CARMELITA*
"At least you'll always be here with me, in a way," said Lord Caelvor, standing up from the chair and confidently walking back inside his home.
Once seated again upon his throne, he closed his eyes. Memories flooded back — all the friends, the enemies, and the countless universes he had crossed.
One couldn't call Lord Caelvor sentimental, yet today was different.
To be "free," yet to have lost the only "person" who had stayed by his side through all those worlds... it was enough to make anyone feel a little down.
The melancholy passed as quickly as it came. After all — he was free.
"So, what do I do now? Carmelita said this is the Hazbin Hotel universe, and that the difficulty's low… meaning I can basically do whatever I want."
"Start a war against humans, angels, and demons and conquer everything? Release one of my soldiers just to see how the angels react? Haha…" he thought aloud.
After a few minutes of consideration, a smile crept across his face. He opened his eyes, jumped to his feet, placed his hands on his hips, and declared loudly:
"We'll deal with all that later — for now, it's VACATION TIME! Hahaha!"
