"We are so fucking done Dominique!"
"What the- you can't be serious Nik!"
"I am dead serious! I don't care whether or not you accept it.We are over!" Nikola yelled, walking away.Dominique stood still and dumbfounded.Nikola had dumped him in the cafeteria of all places.Before he got a little of his senses back,she had already walked away to her and Maxine's table.The cafeteria was once known only as a romantic spot to the students.As people asked each other out there.But she and Maxine turned it to a breakup spot.
Dominique went after Nikola but was stopped by one of the bodyguards protecting both Maxine and Nikola.Dominique with his height and muscles was no match for the huge bodyguards.Soon he was tackled to the floor and he kept calling out to Nikola who completely ignored him.
The scene tugged at Maxine's heartstrings.Perharps Dominique actually liked Nikola.
Nikola in question was stuffing her mouth with big amount of food at a time.Something she always did when she was angry.Nikola had an habit of overly eating when she is pissed or sad about something.She saids her anger or sadness subsides when her stomach gets filled up.
Seeing Nikola's behavior and how Dominique was still yelling out her name like a madman in front of everyone,could it be...?
"Are you okay?" Nikola nodded yes to Maxine's question.But she was far from okay.Maxine could see it.The way Nikola's eyes rimmed red like she is holding back tears. Maxine then said to Nikola in a low voice,
"Do you wanna talk to him? Go ahead if you want to."
"No.I don't want to." Nikola replied almost immediately.She then grabbed a can of coca cola and chugged it until she was breathless.She hated herself for feeling like this.She had publicly dumped Dominique like she has always planned from day one.
She should be happy but she is not.Instead,she feels so down.Why is that?
"I am taking the rest of the day off." Nikola stood up abruptly and announced.She could no longer bear Dominique's voice calling out her name.
Maxine and her bodyguards also went after Nikola.What fun would school be if her bestie wasn't around?
The two got into Maxine's sports car.While the bodyguards entered two other cars.One in front of Maxine's car and the other behind it.
After minutes of calm silence, Maxine spoke, "You like him." It was not a question but a statement. "What does it matter?" Nikola said.There was no need in denying.Maxine could see right through anyone and she is no exception.
"You know...." Maxine started. "I chose to be like this.A bad bitch,who will never want love,not because I do not believe it's exists.It does exists.But it's not for me.We all know what we want and for me, that's it." Maxine just realized she shouldn't drag Nikola into her own opinion about love.It won't be good for Nikola.
"But you, you've got parents who married because of love and are still together.They raised you in that same love into the amazing person you are now.So do not follow in my footsteps.We are different."
"Is that a pep-talk? Coming from you?" Nikola asked incredulously.
"Why? Did i sound bad?" Maxine had an eyebrow raised.
"No.But you weren't so good at giving advices."
"Shut up.Now,do you like Dominique or not?" That was the main point.
"I guess.....I do." Nikola drawled hesitantly.
"Do you want him?"
"I guess I do too..."
"Then let's go get him.This bitch would fully support your happiness." Maxine said and swerved sharply to the other lane.She hit the accelerator with full speed, driving back to the university.The other two cars followed suit but could hardly catch up to Maxine's speed.Nikola became alarmed, "What are you doing?"
"What does it look like? I am getting you back to your Dominique." Maxine wondered why Nikola was even asking.
"Are you crazy?!" Nikola shrieked wide-eyed.
"Do you need to ask that girl?" Replied Maxine with her signature smirk. "I was born crazy."
"But how do I go about it? I just broke up with him publicly you know." Nikola was unsure about this.Would Dominique still come back to her?
"You do not need to do anything girl.From the way I saw it back there,he would come begging you at least twice.Be sure to say yes when he does." Caughtioned Maxine.
Although she has never been and would never be in a romantic relationship,Maxine understood the dynamics of it thanks to the numerous rom-coms she binge watches in her free time and the dark romance books and webnovels.
The dark romantic love was a little desirable to Maxine but sadly it only existed within the boundaries of human mind and not in reality.How would it feel like when someone obsesses over you and sees you alone?
"You really think so?" Nikola questioned.
"Believe so." Maxine turned her eyes away from the road to glance at Nikola who soon yelled "Watch out!" Maxine looked and saw a person on the road.She automatically stepped hard on the brakes.The car screeched to a stop just a few meters away from the person.
Maxine did not realize the sign had turned pedestrian.She quickly stepped out of the car to check on the person she had almost hit.She was incredibly lucky that the land area was part of the Barthurst university property.Otherwise she would have been held by the patrol police.
"Are you okay?" Maxine asked with concern and worry. A pair of dark eyes fell on her overbearingly.The stranger had an imposing presence,dressed in all black.Even Maxine who is usually bold and fearless felt a chill.The stranger possessed a towering height of at least 6'2.Maxine's 5'3 was so comparatively small.
Nikola also came to check on what was going on.The bodyguards caught up to them as well.They had been way behind because of Maxine's speed drive.Nikola also asked if the stranger was okay.His gaze fell on her briefly and went back to Maxine.He said nothing and walked away.
"He seems okay." Said Maxine as she walked back to the car.
"You should be careful Miss.Do you need me to drive? Her bodyguard said.
"Nope." Said Maxine as she got in and started the car.
"He seemed familiar to me.I think he goes to our university."
"Really?" Maxine said.She could not shake off the feel of the stranger's heavy gaze like she was still under it.
"Here we are girl.Now move your ass out of my car and go get your guy." Maxine shooed as soon as she parked her car in the school's parking space.
"But I don't have any plan,we didn't think of that." Worry etched over Nikola's features.
"We? I am sorry you are the one who needs to get a guy here not me.Besides,there is nothing to do.He'II come back on his own.It would be demeaning of you to go to him first."
Maxine enlightened as she whipped out her Chanel rose red lipstick and rubbed some on Nikola's lips.
"There.Perfect seductress." Maxine gushed as they both stepped out of the car.
"Wait what's going on? It's not your twerking video is it?" Nikola asked Maxine as she noticed how everyone they passed by were focused on their phones.Hands flying to their mouth in shock and surprise.
Someone had posted something on the school's student website again.And it seems to be something really scandalous judging from people's facial expressions.It certainly isn't Maxine's twerking clip.
Maxine did not even need to wonder as she knew exactly what was going on.Hell,she posted it. Anonymously of course.
