Raven's POV
Panic was clawing at my chest, choking me as I stood there, frozen in place. He knows. He knows the truth. The thought kept echoing in my mind like a drumbeat, and I couldn't shake it off.
The panic was almost suffocating. Every breath felt like I was inhaling thick smoke, and I could feel my pulse pounding in my throat. This wasn't supposed to happen. I had worked so hard to keep everything under control, to hide what I really was. But now, standing in front of Tyler, with him so damn close, it all felt like it was slipping through my fingers.
It flooded through me like an icy current when Tyler's scent hit me, thicker and more intense than I had anticipated. I thought I'd been able to control it, but it wasn't the scent alone that threw me into overdrive. No, it was the realization that I could feel Tyler's presence, feel his attention narrowing on me, the look in his eyes—the kind of look that said he was onto something. But what? What had he figured out?
