Citizens continued to run past Eichi from the front as he turned around. He was very close to the Gyarados and decided it was time to take action. He couldn't let this out-of-control Gyarados continue its destruction.
He pulled out a Poké Ball and released Scizor. "Scizor, it's time to test the results of your training. Stop it!"
Scizor understood the situation immediately upon appearing and dashed out in an instant. Fortunately, the Gyarados was so out of control that it didn't notice Scizor's approach.
Scizor rushed toward the Gyarados with lightning speed. At that moment, the Gyarados was gathering bright yellow energy in its mouth. Eichi knew he couldn't let it release Hyper Beam, or everyone nearby would be in danger. Just as the Gyarados was about to fire, Scizor delivered a Bullet Punch to its head, causing a loud explosion.
The Gyarados let out a massive roar. Scizor didn't stop there; it followed up immediately, delivering a heavy X-Scissor to the Gyarados's body. The Gyarados couldn't withstand the blow and instantly lost its ability to battle.
Just as the Gyarados collapsed, a Crobat flew over. Seeing the Gyarados was down, it stopped its attack. A teenage boy ran out from the crowd; he looked to be about the same age as Eichi, with yellow hair and wearing a blue and white tracksuit. He looked like a very hot-blooded youth.
Scizor returned to Eichi's side after defeating the Gyarados. Seeing the beast subdued, the crowd began to restore order. The boy looked at Eichi and said, "Thank you very much for taking action. Otherwise, something terrible might have happened to everyone."
"No need for thanks, it was the right thing to do," Eichi said with a smile.
The boy extended his hand in a friendly gesture. "Hello, my name is Youichi Tamada. I'm from Asakusa City. I'm currently traveling to collect badges for the Johto League."
Eichi shook his hand. "I'm Eichi, from Viridian City. I'm studying at Silver Academy."
After their introductions, Youichi said, "Your Scizor is amazing! I saw the Gyarados destroying the building from a distance and wanted to step in, but I didn't expect to be a step too late. If you hadn't intervened in time, more people might have been hurt. I'm really grateful."
Eichi waved his hand. "You flatter me. It was just something I had to do."
After saying this, Youichi looked at the fallen Gyarados and asked, "Eichi, do you know who this Gyarados belongs to?"
"It should belong to a middle-aged man," Eichi replied. He looked around and added, "But I don't see him. He probably went into hiding."
While the two were chatting, people gathered around to look at the fallen Gyarados, while others helped those injured during the building's destruction. The sounds of crying gradually subsided, and soon sirens wailed as Officer Jenny arrived. As always, Officer Jenny was at the very front.
She stopped her vehicle near Eichi since that was where the largest crowd had gathered. After learning the situation from the surrounding witnesses, she locked her gaze on Eichi. "Was it you who defeated this out-of-control Gyarados?" she asked.
"It was me," Eichi replied.
"Then please come with me to the police station to give a statement," Officer Jenny said.
As soon as she finished, Youichi spoke up, "I should go as well."
Officer Jenny nodded and did not refuse. After waiting for the staff from the Pokémon Center to transport the Gyarados, Eichi and Youichi followed Officer Jenny to the police station. Although the architecture here was different from the station in Viridian City, the internal configuration was quite similar.
This wasn't Eichi's first time in a police station. Officer Jenny led them into a room and asked them to show their identification. Since the Pokédex hadn't been invented yet, everyone carried a physical ID. Officer Jenny took their IDs and went out, leaving the two of them in the room for a while.
The room was simple, looking much like an interrogation room from Eichi's previous life, though the lighting wasn't as dim. After fifteen minutes, Officer Jenny returned. As soon as she walked in, she looked at Eichi and said, "So you're that Eichi!"
Eichi was confused. What? Do you know me? What did I do to make you remember me?
Seeing Eichi's bewildered expression, Officer Jenny laughed and explained, "I remember that a little over a month ago in Blackthorn City, there were also two out-of-control Pokémon. You were the one who stopped them."
"Oh, so it's about that!" Eichi said as realization dawned on him.
Youichi asked with a look of confusion, "Eichi, what happened? From what Officer Jenny said, you stopped two out-of-control Pokémon in Blackthorn City too?"
"That's right," Officer Jenny said. "If he hadn't stepped in that day, who knows how much damage would have been done. By the way, Eichi, why did you leave so quickly? The Officer Jenny in Blackthorn City looked for you for a long time."
"I had to catch a train that day," Eichi explained. "If I hadn't left, I would have missed it."
"I see," Officer Jenny said understandingly. "Well, don't be in such a hurry this time. We need to officially recognize your actions."
After saying this, Officer Jenny sat down across from Eichi and Youichi and began her questioning. "By the way, according to the witnesses, Eichi, you were the closest person when the Gyarados lost control. Do you know who its owner is? We searched the vicinity for a long time but couldn't find them. We couldn't see his face on the surveillance footage either."
"I saw the owner," Eichi said. "Do you have paper? I can draw him."
"That would be perfect!" Officer Jenny said, surprised. Another officer immediately brought Eichi some plain paper and a pen.
Eichi began to draw. Half an hour later, a sketch was complete. The face on the paper belonged to the owner of the Gyarados.
"Thank you very much," Officer Jenny said as she took the drawing. She handed it to the officers behind her and instructed them to find the man.
As for why Eichi could draw, that dated back to his previous life. He had loved drawing and had a bit of talent for it, but for various reasons, he never pursued it as a career—a regret he had carried since he enjoyed it so much since childhood. Now, in the Pokémon world, Silver Academy offered various interesting courses twice a week. Eichi had chosen a drawing course, and with his natural talent, he was exceptionally skilled.
After finishing the sketch, Eichi asked, "Officer Jenny, do you know what is going on with these Pokémon losing control?"
