Despite Scizor's persistence, Heracross refused to battle it. Furthermore, Heracross explained that its Big Brother was the one who forced it into the last battle. It was unwilling to fight on its own. Now, unless its current trainer, Eichi, agreed, it would not consent to a battle.
Scizor then turned its gaze toward Eichi. The look in its eyes felt murderous, and Eichi sensed that terrible consequences would follow if he disagreed. Therefore, he had no choice but to say to Heracross, "Heracross, please just give Scizor one battle."
Since its Trainer had spoken, Heracross reluctantly agreed. Fortunately, the training room had enough space, making a battle completely feasible.
The two Pokémon stood on opposite sides, but seeing Heracross's reluctance, Eichi warned it, "Heracross, don't even think about holding back or ending the battle quickly. You can't hide anything from me. If I catch you slacking off, you won't get any breakfast tomorrow."
When Heracross heard Eichi's words, its fighting spirit instantly soared, and its eyes became sharp.
Seeing Heracross get serious, Scizor became very excited.
Eichi gave the command, "Begin the battle!"
The two Pokémon moved instantly. They flapped their wings, flying low, and charged toward each other. The two Pokémon collided in the center of the field. Scizor thrust out its two large pincers, but Heracross extended its arms and blocked the pincers.
The two Pokémon started wrestling.
As a Steel-type Pokémon, Scizor had an official weight of 118 kg, and Eichi's Scizor was even heavier, weighing 10kg more than an ordinary Scizor. Thus, for a moment, the two Pokémon were locked in a stalemate.
Heracross realized that the deadlock couldn't continue, so it started using a move.
Megahorn!
Scizor felt the force in Heracross's arms suddenly surge upward.
Heracross's arms retreated slightly for a moment before pushing forward again, sending Scizor flying back a certain distance.
Heracross pressed its advantage, charging forward with the horn on its head aimed directly at Scizor.
Caught off guard, Scizor was sent flying, but it endured the pain and reacted quickly, launching a counterattack.
It swung its two large pincers and brought them down on Heracross.
Heracross cried out in pain, "Hera!", but Scizor was not finished, so as the force of Megahorn faded, Scizor swung its pincer again.
A white light burst from it, striking down forcefully onto Heracross's body, throwing it toward the ground.
However, Heracross did not lose consciousness while falling. It endured the pain and turned its body, spraying a rapid stream of seeds at Scizor.
Bullet Seed!
Countless seeds, moving like machine gun fire, struck Scizor repeatedly and quickly. Scizor cried out in pain and quickly used its two large pincers to shield its front.
From the very beginning, Eichi observed both Pokémon, paying special attention to Heracross. He noticed that Heracross's practical battle ability was very good, and it possessed a powerful battle instinct. In every attack, it was able to seize the perfect moment, and its reaction speed was very fast.
Furthermore, Heracross's mastery of its moves was notable. If Eichi was not mistaken, it had reached the Mastery level in many of its moves. Every move it had used so far demonstrated a Mastery level of execution.
Eichi knew this was all thanks to Heracross's Big Brother because, given Heracross's personality, it would never train itself; it must have been taught and trained by another Pokémon.
At this point, the battle in the arena reached a fever pitch. Heracross continuously used Bullet Seed against Scizor. However, the effect was poor. Scizor's defense was very high, so a move like Bullet Seed caused little damage.
Scizor pushed through the barrage of Bullet Seed and rushed toward Heracross, but Heracross did not panic; it simply continued using Bullet Seed.
As Scizor drew near, it flapped its wings and flew to the side, causing Scizor's already prepared Bullet Punch to miss.
After dodging, Heracross struck Scizor with a Brick Break.
Scizor quickly turned around, and a white light burst from its two large pincers, blocking Heracross's Brick Break.
Despite being blocked, Heracross did not give up and continued to use Brick Break, while Scizor continued to use Bullet Punch against Heracross. The two Pokémon engaged in a continuous exchange: you hit me, I dodge, I attack again, you dodge.
In this back-and-forth, whenever Heracross successfully struck Scizor, in the next moment, Scizor would retaliate, swinging its pincer to hit Heracross. They exchanged blows without either gaining a clear advantage, and like that both sustained considerable damage.
After about ten minutes, both Pokémon had expended a huge amount of stamina, so they retreated a short distance, resting for a minute in mutual understanding.
After the short break, the battle resumed.
Scizor began to gather energy in its mouth, preparing for a long-range attack. Heracross also started gathering energy in its mouth. Eichi observed the color of the energy Heracross was gathering and thought, "Could it be…"
Hidden Power!
Scizor used Hidden Power, and a pillar of fire erupted from its mouth. The surrounding temperature instantly rose by several degrees. The energy gathered in Heracross's mouth also shot out, but this time it was a pillar of water.
Eichi was astonished. "Heracross knows Hidden Power? How did it learn that? Furthermore, Heracross's Hidden Power is Water-type, which completely counters Scizor's Hidden Power!"
The two energy pillars collided in the air, creating intense energy fluctuations. However, these fluctuations had no effect on the surrounding equipment. A closer look revealed that a thin layer of greenish energy barrier covered the fighting area.
Eichi had set up this energy barrier beforehand to protect the surrounding equipment from being destroyed. This was one of the minor functions Eichi had developed earlier.
Clearly, Heracross and Scizor had a similar mastery of Hidden Power. Consequently, the pillar of fire could not withstand the pillar of water and was immediately annihilated.
The water pillar then shot straight toward Scizor. But just as the fire pillar was extinguished and the water attack was about to strike it, Scizor instantly split into countless clones. The water pillar struck Scizor, but it was only a clone, which immediately vanished.
The other clones then surrounded Heracross, putting it in immediate danger.
