"...you can't marry my daughter," my father said to the demon king and I nodded. "...she...she's gay. Yes," he said with a nod like that was the most reasonable explanation ever. "She's into girls."

I was shocked and stared at him then back at the demon king who paused. Maybe this could work after all. I nodded too, supporting my father's words.

The demon king smiled then. "What good taste you have, there's a reason why we belong to each other after all. I'm into women too."

The cave exploded into cheers. Even I found myself clapping before I realized what I was doing.


"That's incredible!" I couldn't take my eyes off the little golem. It was unlike any of the others we had seen. Lithovar's golems had been beautiful, each crafted with remarkable precision, but this one felt different. It wasn't merely made of stone. Shadows flowed through its body as naturally as blood flowed through living creatures. They curled around its tiny limbs, disappeared beneath its rocky surface, then emerged again like gentle wisps of smoke. Its eyes were nothing but little pools of darkness, yet somehow they were expressive.


Aziren's flames shot high above his head. "It talks!"


Azerion rushed to Zorathys then — I had no idea how he escaped Rin's hold, or maybe I did.


The cave became quiet. Zorathys slowly looked at him.
