Chapter 52 - Chapter 52

Ratchata looked at the peculiar man that walked into the treasury hallway. There eyes met for a second and he felt something strange. Most people looked at Ratchata with fear of submission, but those eyes. There had been a fierce determination in them.

Ratchata didn't think too long about it, however, when the next person arrived to give an offering. This person also wore the cult of the giant robes and kneeled down in front of him. The figure was a well-built and when he removed his hood, Ratchata saw the most beautiful mane of hair he had ever seen on a human. It was unbelievably blonde, the colour of gold, that outshone his fair skin, his blue eyes and his large square jaw. The man upturned the sack in his hand.

Nothing came out.

With a quick motion, the man had removed his robes and Ratchata saw he wore a gleaming galaxy blue suit of armour with stripes of neon lights shining from it. The man pulled out a hilt which he activated and a shark sliver of laser light came out of it. He was a member of Neo-Royalty, and judging by his armour, he was probably a princess.

"For the hand of the Princess Felanor, who shall only marry someone worthy enough to slay a respawner, I, Prince Leo, from the House of Banesworth, challenge thee!" he proclaimed raising his sword to the giant.

Ratchata yawned. He had already had five Neo-Royalty princes, and a princess, attempt to kill him. They usually did not last very long.

Prince Leo ran ahead and the two mechanized bodyguards rushed ahead to intercept him. The prince dodged a swing from one of them by jumping into the air in a somersault, landing onto the staff. The bodyguard was bamboozled by the move, as he had put too much force into the attack, and his suit fell to it's knees. The prince ran the entire length of staff and then the mechanized suit's arm before jumping, when the second bodyguard attacked. The prince was still in mid-air so he couldn't dodge the attack so instead he aimed the laser sword at the base of the suit's swinging arm. The sword cut through like it was butter and the prince rotated his body, so that he didn't collide with the moving limb as it broke. He landed onto the ground with a roll and continued running. The mechanized suit spasmed as it fell to the ground losing it's balanced. The staff fell from the hand and landed against the giant's throne, leaning into it.

The giant was shocked. He hadn't even had a chance to process what had happened when the prince ran along the length of the staff with blistering speed. Ratchata swept aside the staff but was too late as the prince jumped off the last second and jumped on to his arm. The giant shook his arm as fast as he could until he felt a sharp pain. The prince had sunk the sword into his arm to hold on to so instead the giant brought down his other hand to crush him like an insect. The prince dodged the blow, and drive his sword into the hand as it landed.

The giant led out a large roar of pain and pulled back his hand. As the hand rose, the prince held onto his sword and pulled it out at the moment right before the giant's hand came to a stop. The prince flew with the momentum and landed in a perfectly calculated move onto the giant's neck.

The giant raised both his hands to swat at him but the prince was too fast as he avoided them, all the while slashing at the giant's neck. The neck was very thick and would take more than a few slashes but Prince Leo was up to it. He dodged attacks from all around, and when the giant covered his neck to protect he started slashing away at his head or his wrists.

The giant was panicking as he desperately tried to get hold of the prince and protect his neck. He felt another slash on his wrists and moved away his hand, only to feel a deep slash in his already damaged neck. This went on for some time, until with one final blow, the prince slashed away at the neck and a geyser of blood erupted from the giant's neck, drenching the prince in blood. A sick regurgitating sound came from the giant as his eyes went up into his socket, and he slowly fell to the ground. The prince sunk his body into the soft fat folds of the back of the giant's neck as he fell so that he would not be hurt by the momentum.

The whole ground shook as the giant landed, the force of the wind under the falling body knocking away the guards who had stood around sheepishly, not quite sure what to do. A river of blood flowed out from the Giant's semi-decapitated neck onto the gold marble floor of the throne room. Prince Leo jumped out of his hiding spot and fell onto his knees, as the guards circled him.

"May the Gods above please accept my offering to them," said the prince kneeling down. His blue armour was now covered with blood, and the neon lights on it gave off a purplish-red colour. The shine in his golden hair had vanished. "May you take the Giant's soul for my good. May you consider me worthy, so that I may finally have Princess Felanor's hand."

There was silence for a moment and the optimism on Prince Leo's face gradually grew before the sound of deafening thunder almost blew away his eardrums. The Giant stood on the stairs of his throne room, untouched as he had been not so long ago. There was an intense rage in his teal eyes, and steam blew out of his nostrils. His body was shaking with the racing breaths he took.

Uh oh.
