Chapter 91: Two Horcrux

Dudley, who was beside Kreacher, saw the house-elf burst into tears upon seeing the handsome young man who appeared from the locket. The illusion began tempting Kreacher not to stab it.

He could have waited longer, but Dudley didn't want to risk it. Kreacher wasn't Ron Weasley, who had been angry upon seeing the images of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger in the locket. Kreacher was a house-elf who could never betray his master. Even though this was an illusion, if Kreacher truly believed the order was from Regulus, he might have stopped.

Because Dudley had promised Kreacher that he would help him, he quietly held the elf hand without Kreacher realizing it, guided the fang toward the locket and stabbed it.

Prak!

The figure vanished instantly.

"Huh?" said Kreacher, before collapsing to the floor.

His mind had been pushed beyond its limits, too exhausted after crying.

Dudley waited beside him, but after ten minutes passed without Kreacher waking up, he decided to cast a spell on him.

"Finite incantatem."

Kreacher eyes slowly opened and he saw Dudley looking at him.

"Master? Did I…" asked Kreacher.

"Yes, you did it. You destroyed the locket," said Dudley, showing him the shattered piece of locket.

Kreacher began to cry again. "Master Regulus, I did it. I destroyed the locket!"

Seeing his reaction, Dudley decided to hand the broken locket to him. "Kreacher, take this. This is the last relic that your master Regulus fought for with his life."

"Master…" Kreacher whispered, reaching out his trembling hands toward the locket. "Thank you, Master."

"It's okay. But tell me, Kreacher, has your war ended?" asked Dudley.

"War?" Kreacher looked confused.

"There are seven Horcruxes, and only two have been destroyed. That means there are still five more. So, is your war over here or will you follow me and help destroy all the others?" asked Dudley.

"I… I want to honor Master Regulus wish," Kreacher said, his tears drying as determination replaced them. "Master, please put me to good use. As long as I am alive, I will help you destroy the Horcruxes."

"Good," said Dudley, before taking out Rowena Ravenclaw diadem.

---Flashback---

Before the holiday, Dudley had met Harry and asked him to speak Parseltongue so he could record it. After that, he went alone into the Chamber of Secrets to take the basilisk fang.

Harry was confused, but Dudley just told him the truth.

"I have something to do in the Chamber, quick, just speak Parseltongue," said Dudley.

"Ok," said Harry before saying open in parseltongue.

After that, Dudley took the recording device and went to the bathroom.

"Harry, why are you so stupid?" Dudley muttered, unable to stop himself after looking at the skeleton of the basilisk. This thing was worth a fortune. By selling this thousand-year-old corpse, they could rival even the Black family wealth. "Never mind, he was just a kid at that time, so it is normal for him not to care about all this wealth."

The corpse had become a skeleton, and the only valuable thing left was the fang.

Suddenly, he felt someone walking into the Chamber.

Two people entered the room.

"Harry, Ron... what are you doing here?" asked Dudley, shocked to see them.

"I can't let my cousin come to the Chamber alone," replied Harry, while Ron gaped at the massive basilisk skeleton.

"Just go back, Harry. I'm enough on my own," said Dudley.

"What are you doing here, Dudley?" asked Harry.

"Do you know what the biggest mistake you've made is?" asked Dudley.

"Mistake? Entering this Chamber when you wanted to do something naughty?" replied Harry with a smirk.

"No, Harry. Do you know this thing could make the House of Potter even richer? This corpse can be converted into potion materials, and those materials can be sold for galleons. Based on how big and old this creature is, you could be four times richer than the House of Malfoy," said Dudley.

Even though Harry is a wealthy heir and had seen the savings from his family vault, hearing that he could have been richer than the House of Malfoy made him realize the opportunity he had missed.

The sad part was Ron. Even though he hadn't seen the basilisk during his second year, he had been here and now he realized he had lost the same opportunity.

"Both of you are stupid," continued Dudley. "Weasley, your family could have become even richer than Draco Malfoy, but you two didn't harvest the corpse. We could have even donated some of it to Hogwarts so they could replace those old brooms with Nimbus 2000s."

"No…" Ron's reaction was the funniest. His face looked like someone who had just won a lucky draw but suddenly lost the chance because he accidentally misplaced the winning ticket.

Looking at Ron, Harry felt guilty. It was true he was the one who killed the basilisk, but Ron was so poor that he had to wear hand-me-down robes. If Harry had chosen to sell the corpse back then, he might have helped Ron.

"Can we sell it now?" asked Harry.

"Now?" repeated Dudley. "The only valuable thing left from this corpse is its fangs. But compared to the rest of the body, the difference is night and day. One fang might fetch ten galleons or more, I've never sold one, but that's the minimum we could get."

"Dudley, can you give me half a fang?" asked Harry.

"Okay. Because you're the one who killed it, I'll give you half," said Dudley.

Ron, who heard this, wanted to say something, but he felt it wasn't right for him to take Harry money. So, he just watched Dudley take all of the basilisk fangs and put them in his bag.

Dudley then looked at Ron.

"Harry, I think you should share half of your fangs with Ron and Ginny. They're the ones who helped you during your second year," said Dudley.

Hearing this, Harry was happy. He had already planned to use the basilisk fangs to help Ron, but he hadn't known how to bring it up.

"No… that's yours," Ron objected quickly.

"My cousin is right. Just take it. Without you and Ginny, I'd never have killed the basilisk," said Harry.

"I'll help you guys sell these and Ron.... you can expect to have some money during the holiday," said Dudley.
