Chapter 4 - Mining Expedition

As the entered the mine, Eliza didn't waste a moment of time before heading down one of the descending tunnels.

Those outside were still forming parties, they weren't confident in facing the enemy so they dwindled. Eliza had no such reservations, all she saw was a glaring opportunity.

"Hmm, there are so many zyrian crystals around" Enzo muttered as the cascading glow of bright blue crystals shone over head.

This Yuno mine was a recently explored mine, most of what the miners here wanted were high grade, leaving the scraps for newbies. This didn't reduce the danger of coming here of course since they was still a lot of fighting amongst weavers.

"Let me survive this first" Enzo thought to himself as he tapped the HUD on the back of his ear causing a hologram to appear that only he could see.

{ Stardust Anomaly, The birth of a star weaver}

[ a stardust anomaly is a cosmic event that takes place randomly all over the galaxy. It can in limited circumstances release treasures, monsters, and forbidden whispers. But it's most prized attribute is the voyage…..]

Enzo read certain articles on the web pertaining to this so called stardust anomaly. He didn't have a formal education so most things he could learn were learnt off the web.

Apparently this stardust anomaly was a great opportunity sort after by weavers all over the universe. Benefits from it could make one an instant millionaire in no time.

"My time is even moving forward" Enzo thought to himself as he looked down at the clock in his hand.

[6:4:28:30:60]

[6:4:28:31:5]

Instead of depleting his time was increasing, it was like free money. In normal circumstances he would die to come live in this mine. It was just too good to be true

"Left tunnel" at the forefront of the group, a man with a bald head and luminescent skin said as he looked at the wall beside him.

"Everyone hustle, we need to move to the left tunnel now!!" Daniel commanded at the front of the group causing everyone to rush forward as they hurriedly entered another tunnel not too far away from theirs.

A few moments later, a crashing sound resounded from the tunnel they were in previously followed by a gut wrenching roar that shook Enzo to the very core.

The universe was filled with a myriad of corrupted monster and beast, thousands, each a vestige of forgotten worlds and civilizations. And in his two years of weaving around the universe Enzo had never encountered one of them.

Until today

As a chill ran down his spine he finally knew he was truly in danger.

"Stick tight, we're not here to fight monsters. We'll avoid them as much as possible" Eliza's voice sounded from the front as unsheathed her sword and directed the troop.

As long as they stayed beside her, they were safe. At least as safe as running through the eye of an anomaly was.

At the same time outside, the already established teams of weavers rushed into the mountain at full force. Each ready to make a name for themselves.

.

"Is it wise to lock them in there? What if they encounter it?"

Atop a ship floating in orbit of zyria, an fairly old man muttered under his breath as he watched a screen infront of him.

Stardust anomaly

It was the dream of every weaver to encounter one. Treasures, power and knowledge. It was a dream come true for most, that included big factions.

The weavers down there were of the assumption that only they knew of the appearance of this anomaly. Unfortunately this wasn't the case.

"It remains to see" the old man rushed a yellow sponge substance to clean in forehead where an acids yellow substance was dripping from.

"Lord Circly, the signal is strong. There's a high chance it's down there" one of the technicians on the haul of the ship announced as he ran through the dashboard infront of him with his fingers.

"Ahhh I see" the old man smiled coyly then stretched his hand forward giving a thumbs up to another technician on the far left.

Before their very eyes a count down started on the main screen of the ship

[T-30 minutes before bombardment]

The screen read sending a chill down the spine of the assistant of the old man as he watched the old man turn around and leave the haul without a care.

In truth, he had witnessed such scenes several times on his journey with this cold blooded lizard of a man. He had killed tens of thousands to cover his operations countless times.

But watching the deaths of thousands die wasn't something one could get use to. It was going to be hard to watch as the cannons aimed for Yuno mine from orbit.

Meanwhile,

Down in the mines, Eliza and her team had come across a special vine in the walls of the mine and were currently extracting its essence.

"The juice from this one canister will fetch at least 100 years of time" the bearded man Daniel mused as he watched his men load the canister with a bright red liquid substance.

The extraction method was typically hard, but they happened to have the right equipment for it.

" 100 years is a lot I guess" Eliza muttered looked at the already filled canisters that amounted to three.

This was 300 years of time, it was extremely precious if they sold it.

"It's too much load however, we'll leave two behind and fetch them when we make our way back….if we make our way back" Eliza commanded without a second thought.

There was bound to be much more precious things down below. This was just one, she didn't want to settle.

"Yeah…that makes sense" Daniel instead of protesting only smiled bitterly. He knew what Eliza wanted here and unfortunately he couldn't control or argue.

After all, he was here for the same thing.

"Hmm, such a waste" Enzo thought to himself as he watched the canisters from the side being dug into the ground by the other members of the team.

He was currently carrying one on his back and dispite its weight he couldn't stand the thought of letting go of these two.

Eliza's team had proven to be safer than he thought, dispite the constant pressure from running around, they hadn't encountered a single monster Eliza wasn't able to take care of.

The glowing man was that good at avoiding deadly creatures, which was saying a lot with his 'flamboyant' glow.

"Let's keep going down, I have a good feeling we'll see something worthwhile," Eliza said with a glow in her eyes and her hand firmly placed on a glowing pendant around her neck.
