My name is Kyler, Kyler Artorias is what the people of the kingdom call me. I hate that name, "Artorias" it doesn't fit me. It fits my scumbag father.
"Kyler!"
I snap out of my trance to see Alicestein in my face. Her green hair hits my cheek. I try to look into her eyes but it's almost impossible to see through those thick glasses of hers. "Come on let's go practice some magic" she whispers. She grabs my hands and pulls me so hard I almost fall off of the balcony. "Stop being so quiet!' She yells.
"woah! quiet down, if my father catches with me with you your mother will lose her job for sure" I respond. She gives my arm one last pull as I come tumbling off the balcony. Before I hit the ground she puts out her hands. A magical green glow illuminates her entire body as I start floating about a centimetre off the ground. "I told you not to use magic on me!" I scream.
"what happened to Mr quiet" she says with a snarky tone. I hold in every urge to punch her stupid face. "lets just go" I respond while pushing her aside. We begin to sneak through the castle halls. For a castle with so much security hiding is just so easy. Years ago some crazy wizard built tunnels in the walls to create a massive ritual circle. Once he was caught my father was too lazy to completely fill them in. Meaning Alicestein and I have a perfect way of traversing the castle together without being caught. It would be great if we could just hangout like normal friends but with her mother being a maid and my father being the king and all it wouldn't quite go well if my Dad found out we were friends
After a few minutes of going through the tunnels we reach our destination,
The garbage dump
I stare at the heaps of garbage left inside the supposed "government's greatest bastion". Before I can make a move Alicestein leaps onto the piles of trash and starts waving her arms like crazy. "what kind of spell is that?" I ask. She continues to flail her arms around as nothing happens. "A super cool one that definitely works, obviously!" sometimes Alicestein shows off prodigy level magic and sometimes she does this. Her favorite spell to cast is one where she pulls a piece of bread out of her pocket, PS the bread is very large and you always know when she will cast this "spell".
"I may only know levitation but thats one more spell than you know idiot" she shouts. I don't know magic yet but I am well trained in sword fighting. You would be surprised how much you need to work on your legs to master the sword. With one big leap I launch myself towards her and go for a midair punch.
"Not fair!" she cry's.
*boom*
I punch her square in the face. The force from my attack launches an entire layer of the trash away. She raises her hand in my direction. The entire dump is illuminated by that familiar green glow. Before I can react every piece of garbage in the dump starts to float. Unfortunately she chose not to make me float. I lose my footing and fall straight to the floor. The green glow disappears and the garbage all comes falling down crushing me. "That's what you get-wait your not dead right" she snickers. I use all my force to punch all of the stupid trash off of me. "ill kill you!'
*crash*
Both of us look at each other wondering where that noise came from. There's a scream then another crash followed by more screams.
We rush out of the dump into the hallways. The walls are covered in a black ink like liquid. At the end of the hallway I see a servant being attacked by a tall creature made out of the same liquid. The monster is skinny as a twig but it stands at a monsterous height. Its has claws sharper than any blade i've seen. Its claws dig into the servants chest as he lets out a thunderous scream. Alicestein and I stand still. Maybe if we dont move it wont see us. Alicestein lets out a small cry. The monster turns its head with a full 360. Its eyes and mouth are pure white. I try not to focus on its demented smile
It lunges towards us with a speed that rivals lightning. Its clearly trying to dig its claws into Alicestein. I can't let it hurt her. Its as if time stands still. I look around and see the suit of armor beside me holding a sword. I grab it and with speed I didn't think I had I dash in front of Alicestein. I use my sword to parry its claw attack. Its eyes lock onto me.
its smile widens
It goes in for an attack. I can't move my body in time. It claws head straight for my face. Suddenly I feel my entire body get jerked into the air. "Thanks!" I yell. I look down to see Alicestein using her magic on me. The monster moves its focus to her. 'drop me!" I demand. while I fall I ready my sword to attack the creature. while it focuses on her I use the speed of my descent to plunge my sword right through its head. The creature instantly turns into a puddle of ink on the floor. I hug Alicestein. She cries. "its gonna be ok" I whisper. The puddle created from killing that thing starts moving and latches onto the wall. I point my sword at it. It doesn't move.
something else moves
Three more of those things come from around the corner. Difference with these ones is their a lot taller. If I had to say id say their about the size of 10 me's. They run towards us at full speed.
