Chapter 12 - Flower 12

It's been over a week since the private selection of the famous Knox family was held. Of the 20 girls, only 15 remain, and with so much to gain, these noble ladies are growing increasingly tired, both mentally and physically.

A family with two distinct cultures boasted many times more culture than other noble families. From flower arranging, gardening, plant care, tea parties, dancing, and much more, and that wasn't even mentioning martial arts. The girls now shared the same sentiment: the Knox family's selection was more terrifying than school or military training.

Quinn—one of the girls participating in the selection who came out of necessity—had no choice but to follow this choice, because becoming Jacob Pan's umpteenth wife was not an option. Initially, Quinn only wanted to be a low-profile woman, not wanting to stand out, not wanting to attract attention, unfortunately, she had to abandon her initial plan because she had caught the attention of the Knox house mistress. Now all the girls would make her the topic of conversation—both secretly and openly.

What happened with the flower arrangement incident didn't stop there. In the next activity, Quinn also fulfilled the hostess's wishes, which caused her to become the center of attention again. Quinn, who initially didn't care much, now felt a little uncomfortable with the attention people were giving her.

It was the weekend. Mrs. Knox had said they could go home for the week. Anyone would be stressed being confined without seeing the outside world. Furthermore, they were all young ladies from the nobility and upper classes, most of whom were born with servants at their side 24/7.

But before they left, the hostess made a small announcement. "I invite Miss Youna Scarlett, Miss Quinn Flos, and Miss Seeli Snow to join me for dinner tonight. I hope all of you can rest at your respective homes." And the middle-aged woman left.

"Oh… you see that? Looks like the top three have been chosen. Youna, Quinn, and Seeli. It's like we don't need to come back here anymore since they're the only three invited to the dinner," said a girl with a pink flower on her forehead. Shedding the traditional attire she had been wearing all her time here, the girls all looked like completely different people after the change in style.

"What did you expect? Even that arrogant Shoure wasn't invited to dinner. At least I won't be embarrassed when I get back." On the other hand, Shoure seemed to want to start a fight after hearing the girls whispering loudly.

"Hahaha, if you want to leave, go ahead. I still want to come back here to watch this increasingly exciting battle. I don't even care if I'm chosen or not to be General Xavier's wife, I'm going to enjoy the fight between Youna and Quinn." The girl no longer continued her sentence because a luxury spacecar had stopped in front of her to take her away from Knox's residence.

"That damn woman!" Shoure hissed angrily. She was annoyed that she hadn't received an invitation from Mrs. Knox. "Congratulations, Youna. I'm not surprised anymore that you've received an invitation. You're sure to be a real eye-catcher tonight." Shoure turned to the tall, long-haired woman. Her hairstyle perfectly showcased the maroon flowers blooming at her temples. Coupled with the aura she radiated, Shoure harbored a pang of envy.

"I don't doubt you, but how could that gray flower woman be invited to the dinner? Even that idiot Seeli is coming." Her envy grew even more because the chosen ones were those far below her. In terms of background, she was above them all!

Youna, standing like a beautiful statue next to Shoure, looked far ahead, her focus fixed on a person who was busy talking. "You should ask yourself." Youna gave Shoure a look that made her skin crawl. "How can that gray flower woman be better than you?" Then Youna walked away, leaving Shoure cursing at the top of her lungs.

At the end of the street, three noble ladies were sharing stories together. Seeli, an innocent girl who seemed to have no idea what was happening in this world, said, "Hey, did Mrs. Knox mention my name? How did I get invited to this dinner?" The youngest member panicked, not expecting to be chosen. She was afraid to come.

"Sister Irish. Could it be that Mrs. Knox mistook me for you? Or perhaps Mrs. Knox slipped her tongue and said my name instead? Should I go inside and ask again?" The girl continued, continuing to ramble on about unimportant matters, ultimately inflaming Irish Gold, who already had a low level of patience.

"You go alone! Even if I get elected, I don't want to go! I want to go to the bar! I want to party! I want to be free from this horrible prison!" She shouted impatiently. "And congratulations, Miss Flos. You've managed to make Mrs. Knox like you. Very good performance. If you can keep it up, you can be elected and free from Jacob Pan."

Quinn frowned, "you know about that too?"

"Opppsss.... I have to go soon. Bye bye! Enjoy your dinner with General Xavier. Ok!" As quickly as she said it, the golden-haired girl also left just as quickly.

"Did Mrs. Knox say we were having dinner with General Xavier?" Seeli asked innocently.

"Miss Gold knows a lot. She even knows that General Xavier will be attending tonight's dinner."
