Hey hey, people. Rikisari here. Before you dive into this twisted little experiment of mine, I figured I should probably give you a heads up on what exactly you're signing up for.
First things first—this isn't your typical OC insert fic where I've created some perfect little self-insert to dominate the COTE universe. Nah, that's amateur hour. What we have here is something far more interesting: an unexplored character from the same White Room that produced our favorite emotionless mastermind. Think of Toshiro Nishida as the path not taken, the road diverged in that sterile yellow wood. Where Ayanokōji became the perfect, emotionless tool, Shiro became something far more dangerous, a weapon that decided to wield itself.
Now, since this story takes place in the relatively uncharted territory of Class 1-C, I had a bit of a blank canvas to work with. If you're a wiki diver, you probably know there are about 14 characters officially listed for this class, and half of them have little more information than "they exist." So I've taken some creative liberties. I've added some fresh blood (like our resident straight-laced strategist Makoto Sumida and the delightfully unhinged gambler Yumeko Jabami), and I've expanded on characters who barely got a footnote in canon (like our narcoleptic hardass of a teacher, Kazuma Sakagami).
Do these changes enhance the story? I think so, but hey, that's your call to make. I just write this thing; you're the ones who have to suffer through it.
As for the inevitable "How many in the harem?" question that seems to follow any COTE story like a bad smell—who knows? I'm still deciding. Shiro certainly has the ambition and the tools to collect a big following, but whether that's the most efficient path to his goals remains to be seen.
One thing I can promise: since Shiro has found his way onto the basketball team, we might see some exploration of that avenue. Imagine a squad of ANHS geniuses taking on something like the "Generation of Miracles" from Kuroko. Could be interesting, could be a disaster. We'll see where the story takes us.
For now, just sit back, grab your favorite beverage (I recommend something strong), and enjoy the story!
