Chapter 2 - Leave the Rest to Time

Two and a half years ago.

No lightning strikes.

No miraculous luck.

No sudden death from overwork.

Arthur had simply worked late one night, and on his way home, turning a corner—his vision blurred, and he transmigrated.

For most people, turning a corner might mean bumping into love.

For him, it was bumping into another world.

A physical transmigration, his body rejuvenated.

He slipped seamlessly into this new reality.

Not a fusion with an alternate self.

But rather, an entire fabricated life history was inserted into the world, serving as his proof of existence.

In this false past, Arthur was a solitary prodigy.

A scholar who cared only for books.

Indifferent to the world outside his window.

His only goal: get into Tokyo University, graduate, become an elite of society.

And eventually achieve financial freedom, living a happy life.

Until then, he didn't want any distractions.

Even something like making friends.

Time spent with friends was better spent reading more.

As a result, "he" had no friends at all.

A loner finds it hard to connect anywhere.

Though Arthur had witnessed those thirteen years of "his" life from a third-person perspective, as if watching a film—

The memories were crystal clear, etched into his mind.

And so, he inherited all the hard-earned knowledge that "he" had studied for years.

Time flew.

To this day, Arthur has learned much about this composite anime world.

On the surface: peaceful daily life.

Underneath: hidden dangers.

Like the evil spirits.

Perhaps because of the crossover setting, the spirits here weren't as numerous as he had feared.

Not like in Mieruko-chan, where they roamed everywhere.

So far, he had only encountered six.

If there were evil spirits, then what about other supernatural creatures?

Like youkai?

Until he confirmed otherwise, anything was possible.

After all, aliens definitely existed here.

Glancing at the Compendium, Arthur chose to claim his reward.

A surge of pure energy flowed into his body—

Quickly merging with seven different types of aura.

Aura, the power wielded by ability users in the K universe.

All things possessed an aura.

Especially living beings.

Ability users could manipulate their own.

When aura clashed with the physical world, it produced a strange phenomenon called heat haze.

Similar to the shimmering air above hot summer asphalt.

Different attributes of aura had different colors.

For example, the Red King's aura manifested as crimson flames.

Because Arthur carried all seven Authorities, his body contained seven distinct auras.

It took less than three seconds for the fusion to complete.

Sensing within, Arthur found his total aura had increased by one percent.

Still far from a breakthrough.

He would need many more units of medium energy to double it.

A daunting task, given that in two days he'd only faced six spirits.

Aside from the Claw Wraith, the others were likely low-tier spirits.

Torn apart too easily.

According to the Compendium's value-based ranking, those weaklings were surely only White Rank.

The ranks, from lowest to highest:

White, Green, Blue, Purple, Gold…

Thinking of this, Arthur checked his own rank.

Transparent.

Outside the normal scale.

Because of his unique status, he was assigned a special rank.

Each entry could grant one random reward within its rank.

For example, the Authority of a King.

Normally, one could only obtain a single Authority.

But he had all seven.

It was satisfying, but also… not.

As a "Transparent" rank, he could draw rewards from any level—White to Gold and beyond.

In his judgment, a single Authority was probably only Blue rank, not even Purple.

The combined value of all seven Authorities might reach Purple at best.

Not bad, but still shy of what he desired.

A Gold-tier reward—that would satisfy him.

Still, at least he hadn't drawn anything as low as White or Green.

Shrugging off the thought, Arthur closed the Compendium.

Leaning back on the sofa, he shut his eyes.

His consciousness reached toward the seven Authorities.

And in his inner vision, he saw them clearly—

The seven Swords of Damocles hung overhead.

Below flowed a rainbow river of light, its colors distinct.

The seven streams of aura.

Arthur began his experiment:

Fusion of the Authorities.

Though their attributes were distinct—even conflicting—

At their core, they shared a single source.

If he could merge them, something unexpected might be born.

With the immense mental power of the Colorless Authority, Arthur proceeded carefully.

Unlike the other six Kings, every Colorless King's ability was unique.

Mikoto Suoh's predecessor, Ichigen Miwa, had foresight.

The fox spirit had interference.

His, however, was Divine Control.

Divine Control—command and resistance.

His spiritual strength was overwhelming, allowing him to influence material reality.

He could move objects with thought.

And resist all mental and psychic powers, so long as they didn't exceed his limits.

One failure.

Two.

Three.

Four…

Countless failures.

Then, suddenly, Arthur opened his eyes.

Excitement lit them.

He had succeeded.

Raising his right hand, he extended a finger.

A wisp of rainbow light coiled around its tip.

This was a new aura—born from the fusion of all seven attributes.

One stream stronger than seven.

In his perception, its quality and potency was at least ten times greater than a single aura.

And once the first wisp fused successfully—

The rest of his auras began to merge automatically.

All he had to do was leave it on time.

Half a month, perhaps.

That much, Arthur could afford to wait.

When the fusion was complete, the power of the Seven Kings would transform—ascending into something greater.

Arthur's anticipation only grew.

Meanwhile, in his inner world—

The rainbow river rained down a thousand star lights.

And at its base, a whirlpool of radiance formed.

Like a spiral galaxy spinning in the vastness of the cosmos.
