As Zephyr finished speaking—
Kai blanked.
"Huh?"
"This… is my training site?"
Training inside the research institute?
Was he hearing things?
Kai stared at the capsule and fell into thought.
He could feel it—
This capsule definitely hid something.
"Instructor Zephyr," Kai asked directly, "what does this capsule actually do?"
If it were just about changing environments, Zephyr wouldn't have brought him all the way to a remote institute like this.
So the key had to be the capsule itself.
That much was obvious.
And since the whole institute had mobilized and spent two days building it…
It definitely wasn't ordinary.
Even if this world's tech "drifted," there were plenty of black-tech creations that Kai couldn't understand at all.
This world didn't lack strange technology—
It just lacked truly powerful mass-scale firearms.
Zephyr sighed, then explained carefully.
"This capsule is your best possible training location."
"It doesn't have many functions—honestly, you could even call it single-purpose."
"But for training the human body… it helps enormously."
"The first function is electrotherapy stimulation."
"It's specifically designed to stimulate the body's cells and enhance your physical improvement."
"Under electrotherapy stimulation, your cellular activity will increase dramatically."
"That way, your training will become twice as effective with half the effort."
"Of course…"
"This method is extreme, and it carries a certain level of risk."
"But you can rest assured—if these researchers dared to present it, it means it won't threaten your life."
Then Zephyr looked at Kai and asked bluntly:
"But I still need to ask you one thing."
"For the sake of becoming stronger… are you willing to accept that risk?"
"If you can't accept it, I'll have to think of another plan."
Kai listened silently.
And in that instant, everything clicked.
Now he finally understood why Zephyr had brought him to this far-off institute.
It was all for this capsule.
"Using electricity to stimulate cell activity… and increase training effect?" Kai narrowed his eyes.
He hadn't expected the plan to be this extreme.
But he had to admit—
He was tempted.
Danger?
What in this world was without danger?
If you wanted rapid power…
You needed to pay a price.
Besides, if Marine researchers dared to offer this capsule for training, they must have confidence it wouldn't kill him.
No one would dare treat him like a lab mouse.
His identity alone made that impossible.
If anything happened to him—
Even ignoring Garp…
Fleet Admiral Kong would be the first to explode and punish the entire institute.
Zephyr continued.
"This electrotherapy method was proposed personally by Dr. Vegapunk in recent years."
"Only in the last few years has it gradually been integrated into our Marine research."
"It just so happens your talent is too monstrous—so the higher-ups had no choice but to bring up this plan."
"You can relax."
"This technology is already mature."
"It won't damage your body, and it won't leave hidden injuries."
"You know how much Fleet Admiral Kong values your future."
"If your body ended up with hidden damage because of me…"
"The first person Kong would punish would be me."
Kai's gaze sharpened.
"Does it have any other function?"
"There's also hydrotherapy stimulation," Zephyr said.
"It also stimulates the body, but it's much gentler than electrotherapy."
"Of course, the effect is far weaker too. The two methods can't be compared."
"If you can't adapt to electrotherapy, you can use hydrotherapy instead."
"Even then, your training efficiency will still improve a lot compared to before."
"But personally…"
"With your physical talent and monstrous constitution, electrotherapy is the best match for you."
"It's the fastest way to make you stronger."
Stimulating cells with electricity to increase training gains…
Kai couldn't help but admire it.
A method like this—
Vegapunk truly deserved the reputation of a genius five hundred years ahead.
Bold idea.
And it had actually succeeded.
"Kid, in my eyes this electrotherapy method was practically designed for you," Zephyr said, smiling.
"Because not everyone is qualified to touch it."
"The main effect is stimulating cells and accelerating metabolism."
"But that comes with a tradeoff—your life burns faster."
"This method isn't suitable for people over twenty."
"Otherwise, it can leave major hidden dangers and accelerate aging."
"But for people under twenty, cellular activity is naturally high."
"So they can resist those side effects."
Zephyr chuckled.
"But you know it too—how many people under twenty can endure the pain and torment electrotherapy brings?"
"That's why I say it was made for you."
"You're different."
"You have a body that's practically a monster."
"To you, electrotherapy is like scratching an itch."
"It doesn't even deserve the right to make you feel pain."
"Otherwise, I wouldn't push you this hard to use it."
Kai's eyes flickered.
Zephyr was persuading him—successfully.
And Zephyr added one more point:
"Don't worry. If this method would cause irreversible harm, Garp would've already torn me apart."
"How could he possibly approve it?"
When the plan was proposed, Garp had been in the meeting as Kai's direct family.
And throughout the discussion, Garp hadn't raised any objection.
Which meant—
He had tacitly approved it.
"This is the most scientific training method of the new era," Zephyr said, watching Kai quietly, waiting for his answer.
He had said everything that needed to be said.
Whether Kai agreed or not—
That decision belonged to Kai alone.
Zephyr wouldn't force it.
Kai took a deep breath, eyes shining as he stared at the capsule.
"I agree."
Zephyr burst into laughter.
"I knew you would."
"From the first moment I saw you, I already knew there was a restless, violent factor hidden in your bones."
"When do we start?" Kai asked immediately.
He couldn't wait.
He wanted to personally experience how much this "electrotherapy stimulation" could boost his training.
"So impatient?" Zephyr laughed.
Then he instructed the team leader beside him.
"Can you start a session now?"
"Anytime," the team leader replied solemnly.
Zephyr looked back at Kai.
"You heard him. Are you sure you want to try it right now?"
"Of course." Kai nodded.
Under the team leader's operation and commands—
The capsule door slowly opened.
Its interior—sleek and futuristic—was revealed.
Kai didn't hesitate.
He stepped forward and entered the capsule.
Immediately, under the team leader's control—
The door shut tight.
Thunk.
With a soft mechanical sound, the door locked.
Kai was completely sealed inside.
And it was easy to imagine—
An extreme electrotherapy training session was about to begin.
