Chapter 16: "What Are You Going to Do? I'll Punish You, Of Course."

Pilea inhaled deeply, trying to calm her racing nerves. She didn't want to burden her brother with her fear.

"I'll start heading back now. Get some rest, okay?" she said softly.

Sam smiled and nodded, unaware of the storm swirling inside her.

Once outside, Pilea walked with a lantern in her hand, the light trembling as she searched the ground.

"Maybe it fell while I was running," she muttered, scanning every shadow.

The night sky had turned completely dark, and the silence around her made her thoughts louder.

Could it be that someone deliberately led me out here?

Was the real target… Androsen's badge?

Her brows furrowed. No one even knows I took it. Unless… all of this was Senior's plan?

Before she could think further, bright headlights flashed across her face. A car stopped right in front of her.

Her breath caught in her throat. "Isn't that… Androsen?"

As expected, the car door opened, and he stepped out. His expression was unreadable, his aura cold and heavy. Even in the darkness, his face glowed with that haunting, effortless beauty — sharp, pale, and dangerous.

"Why are you here?" His voice was low but commanding. "And who brought you out?"

Her heart dropped. Every part of her wanted to run, but her legs refused to move.

Androsen… what do I do? she thought helplessly, staring at his piercing eyes that seemed to darken with every second.

She couldn't lie. Not now. Not when things were already falling apart.

I can't let Androsen to get into trouble because of me, she thought, taking a shaky breath. Maybe… maybe he'll calm down if I apologize first.

"I—I'm sorry," she said, her voice trembling. "I was just too worried about my brother." Her hands gripped her skirt tightly. "So… I took your badge without permission."

Androsen's expression didn't change. She hurried to add, "But the badge… it's missing. I lost it."

For a moment, the air around him stilled. His gaze softened slightly — not with kindness, but calculation.

"This wasn't your idea," he said coldly. "Who told you to do it?"

He turned his head slightly. "Fitch. Retrieve the badge."

It was only then that Pilea noticed the tall man in his fifties, dressed in a butler's uniform, standing silently in the shadows. The man bowed respectfully.

"Also," Androsen continued, his tone darkening, "investigate the disciplinary committee member — Pristin."

"Yes, young master," Fitch replied before disappearing into the night.

Then Androsen's attention returned fully to Pilea.

"As for you…" His eyes narrowed. "I'll have to think about how to punish you."

Her heart pounded. Before she could speak, he grabbed her wrist, pulling her forward. The lantern slipped from her grasp and fell to the ground.

He pushed her gently against a tree; the cool wind brushed against her skin. She looked up at him — his eyes glowed faintly red beneath the moonlight.

"W-What are you going to do?" she stammered.

His lips curled into a small smirk. "Punish you, of course."

His hand brushed her hair aside, exposing her neck. His fangs gleamed faintly as he leaned closer.

Pilea froze as she felt his cold breath against her skin — then the sharp sting of his bite. Her blood ran cold, her thoughts scattering as the world spun around her. Her knees weakened, and she would have fallen if not for his arm wrapped firmly around her waist.

The sensation was both numb and burning. His fangs sank deeper, and her heartbeat echoed in her ears.

Then, softly, she felt his lips trail along her neck — a faint kiss tracing the path of blood. That shock jolted her back to her senses.

"Stop—please, let me go!" she gasped, pushing weakly against him, though she knew it was useless.

Androsen caught her hands mid-air, his eyes glinting with restrained hunger. "You should know by now," he murmured, voice dangerously low, "I decide when to stop."

Her tears welled up. "Androsen… don't be like this," she whispered. "Please, let me go."

He paused. "Begging me?" His voice softened almost mockingly. "Then call me master. Maybe then, I'll be gentle."

She looked up at him, trembling. "I… I'm begging you…"

But she couldn't say the word. Even weakened, she still held on to the last bit of her pride.

Androsen studied her in silence, almost fascinated. "You really are a woman who doesn't know what's good for herself," he said coldly. "Aren't you afraid I'll drain you dry and cast you aside?"

Pilea's chest rose and fell rapidly. Since meeting him, her life had been nothing but chaos — pain, confusion, and fear. Yet, somehow, he'd saved her too. He'd toyed with her, helped her, hurt her, and protected her — all for reasons she couldn't understand.

Her hands clenched tightly against the tree. I don't want this to continue. I don't want to keep being dragged around by him…

She looked up at him, eyes fierce despite her exhaustion. "Androsen… I'm just your blood servant. Sooner or later, you'll get tired of me and throw me away."

His expression flickered — something unreadable passed through his eyes.

"But before that happens," she continued softly, "let me help you find your badge. It's my fault it's missing… and I don't want to owe you anything."

Before he could respond, her body gave out. She fainted, collapsing forward — and Androsen caught her just in time.

He looked at her unconscious face, sighing faintly. "You still refuse to admit your fault, even now?" he muttered, brushing a stray hair from her face.

Then, without another word, he lifted her gently into his arms, holding her as if she were something precious. He carried her to the car, placed her carefully inside, and sat beside her as the driver started the engine.

The car sped through the silent road back toward the mansion — and Androsen's gaze lingered on her the entire way.
