"Your costume looks... beautiful." I nearly choked those words out, steadying myself to keep my composure intact.
I wasn't sure why I kept feeling on edge, but I couldn't help it. Tonight was the night of the Halloween Party, and all I could think about was whether Arielle had already arrived at the palace and whether I'd be able to find her among all the guests.
Now, however, I had to sit here with Daphne Eshelwood, who seemed to be so flustered and shy that she had already started sweating through her thick velvet dress.
"Thank you, you're so nice!" Daphne replied with a wide smile on her blushing face. She grabbed another glass of wine with her trembling hand and downed almost half of it immediately.
"I hope you don't mind waiting with me here for a while – I am a little nervous to face all those people out there, but wine will help me relax pretty soon!"
A socially awkward alcoholic for the future Royal Luna... how about that.
