It'd been a while since I felt this anxious and so out of place. Arielle kept ignoring my texts, while every gift aside from flowers had been heartlessly returned.
I was usually the only one to play such games with the women interested in me, but this time, it seemed like karma had finally caught up to me and was dead set on teaching me a bitter lesson.
In all honesty, I wasn't even sure why I was so hung up on her these days. When Mother told me that Arielle was to be my mate, I couldn't help but resent her.
But the more I observed her, the more I felt a strange force pulling me toward that girl, and before I even knew it, I was infatuated.
"I want to go out," Herald's voice seeped into my consciousness, dragging me back to reality, where I was sitting in my study, lazily twirling a glass of blood-red wine.
"So go," I replied, surprisingly coldly, which prompted my companion to widen his eyes at me in shock.
