Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: A Dragon's First Flight

Naruto: The Dragonoid's Legacy

"NARUTO UZUMAKI, GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE **RIGHT NOW!**"

Jiraiya's voice boomed across the training ground, but Naruto was having far too much fun to care. He barrel-rolled through the air, his new pink-and-gold dragon wings responding to his thoughts as naturally as breathing. The wind rushed past his face, and for the first time in his life, he understood what true freedom felt like.

"This is INCREDIBLE!" Naruto whooped, flying higher. "Pervy Sage, you gotta try this! Oh wait—you can't! WAHAHA!"

That laugh. That wasn't quite Naruto's usual laugh. Jiraiya's eyes narrowed as he watched his student perform aerial acrobatics that would make most summons jealous. Whatever had happened, it had changed more than just the boy's appearance.

"Alright, that's it." Jiraiya formed hand seals. "**Summoning Jutsu!**"

A massive cloud of smoke erupted, and Gamabunta, the Giant Toad Boss, appeared with his signature pipe in his mouth.

"Jiraiya, this better be important. I was in the middle of—" Gamabunta stopped mid-sentence, his large eyes focusing on the winged figure doing loop-de-loops in the sky. "What in the name of the Sage of Six Paths is **that?**"

"That," Jiraiya sighed, "is Naruto."

"THE KID?!" Gamabunta's jaw dropped, his pipe nearly falling out. "What happened to him?!"

"I was hoping you could help me get him down so we can figure that out."

Naruto, noticing the giant toad, grinned widely and dove straight down at incredible speed. At the last second, he pulled up, creating a shockwave that rattled the trees, and landed perfectly in front of them. His golden eyes gleamed with excitement, his new wings folding against his back.

"Gamabunta! Check it out! I've got wings! And horns! And look—" Naruto held up his hand, and pink-and-gold energy crackled around his fingers like lightning. "I can do THIS now! Though I'm not really sure what 'this' is yet..."

"Naruto," Jiraiya's voice was deadly serious now, "I need you to focus. What exactly happened? What was that voice? What did it do to you?"

The playful expression on Naruto's face softened slightly. He scratched the back of his head—a familiar gesture despite his new appearance. "Right, sorry. I got a bit carried away. It's just... I've never felt anything like this before!" He took a breath. "Okay, so there was this girl—"

"A girl?" Jiraiya's expression immediately shifted to suspicious.

"Not like that, you pervert!" Naruto snapped, though there was more amusement in his voice than usual. "She called herself Milim Nava. Said she was some kind of Demon Lord and that I'm her descendant or something? She said she's been watching me and decided to give me her power—her whole species thing. Called me a... dragonoid?"

"Demon Lord? Dragonoid?" Gamabunta rumbled. "Kid, those aren't terms from our world."

"I know, right?!" Naruto's excitement returned. "She said something about dimensions and timelines being separated. Honestly, a lot of it went over my head. But the important part is—she gave me her power! Said I had the right spirit or something. Oh, and she mentioned I'd get a bit of her personality too?" He grinned that sharp-fanged grin again. "Whatever that means!"

Jiraiya and Gamabunta exchanged worried glances.

"Jiraiya," the toad boss said quietly, "this is beyond anything I've encountered. An entity powerful enough to breach dimensions and fundamentally change someone's species? That's..."

"I know." Jiraiya rubbed his temples. "We need to understand the extent of these changes. Naruto, how do you feel? Physically, I mean."

Naruto closed his eyes, taking stock of himself. "Strong. Like, REALLY strong. I feel like I could punch through a mountain without breaking a sweat. And there's this energy inside me that's different from chakra but also kind of similar? It feels... vast. Like an ocean." His eyes snapped open. "Oh! And I'm hungry. Like, SUPER hungry. Starving, actually."

"More hungry than usual?" Jiraiya asked skeptically.

"Way more! I could eat, like, fifty bowls of ramen right now! Maybe a hundred!"

"Great," Jiraiya muttered. "As if feeding you wasn't expensive enough already."

"Wait." Naruto's expression suddenly became serious, his golden eyes widening. "The Kyuubi. I need to check on the Kyuubi!"

Before Jiraiya could respond, Naruto closed his eyes and dove into his mindscape.

---

**Naruto's Mindscape**

The sewer-like corridors were completely different now. The walls gleamed with pink-and-gold energy, pulsing like a heartbeat. The oppressive darkness that usually filled this place had been replaced with an almost cheerful luminescence. And ahead, the Kyuubi's cage looked... smaller?

No, the cage was the same size. But the presence behind it felt diminished somehow.

"**Well, well, well...**" The Kyuubi's voice rumbled from the shadows, and two massive red eyes opened in the darkness. "**Look what the brat has become. I can smell it on you—power that rivals even mine. No... power that might even SURPASS mine.**"

Naruto approached the cage cautiously. "Kyuubi... are you okay? Did whatever happened to me hurt you?"

The fox actually laughed—a genuine sound of amusement rather than malice. "**Hurt me? No, boy. If anything, this is the most interesting thing to happen in the thirteen years since I was sealed in you. A Dragonoid, she called you? A descendant of a Demon Lord?**" The Kyuubi leaned forward, and Naruto could see the grudging respect in those ancient eyes. "**You're no longer just a human Jinchuuriki. You've become something else entirely. I can feel it—your body is evolving as we speak. Tell me, can you feel the magicules flowing through you?**"

"Magicules?"

"**The energy that woman granted you. It's similar to natural energy but far more potent. It's mixing with your chakra, creating something... new.**" The Kyuubi's tails swished behind him. "**This changes things, boy. With this power, you might actually be able to fulfill that ridiculous dream of yours. Becoming Hokage? Hah! You could become something far greater.**"

"I don't want to be something greater!" Naruto declared, his golden eyes blazing. "I want to be Hokage! I want to protect my precious people! That hasn't changed!"

"**Spoken like a true fool.**" But there was no venom in the Kyuubi's words. "**Very well. But know this—your transformation is incomplete. That woman's power is still integrating with your body. Over the next few days, you'll continue to change. Abilities will awaken. Instincts will sharpen. And that 'bit of her personality' she mentioned?**" The fox grinned wickedly. "**I can already see it affecting you. You're more... impulsive. More prone to excitement and joy. More battle-hungry.**"

Naruto thought about his actions over the past few minutes—the reckless flying, the wild laughter, the overwhelming urge to test his strength. "Oh. Yeah, I can kinda see that."

"**Just don't lose yourself, boy. You're Naruto Uzumaki first, dragonoid second. Remember that.**"

For once, Naruto found himself agreeing with the fox. "Right. Thanks, I guess?"

"**Don't thank me. Just don't get us killed because you want to fight someone strong. I rather enjoy existing.**"

---

**Outside**

Naruto's eyes snapped open. Jiraiya and Gamabunta were watching him intently.

"The Kyuubi's fine," Naruto reported. "Actually, he seemed almost... excited? Said my transformation isn't complete yet. I'll keep changing over the next few days as the power settles in."

"Wonderful," Jiraiya said dryly. "So we don't even know the full extent of what you're becoming."

"Nope!" Naruto grinned. "Isn't that exciting?"

"That's one word for it." Jiraiya pulled out a scroll. "Alright, we need to test your abilities systematically. Figure out what you can and can't do. Gamabunta, you can go. I'll handle this."

The giant toad nodded and disappeared in a puff of smoke.

"Okay, Naruto. First test—" Jiraiya pointed to a boulder the size of a house about fifty meters away. "Hit that with your strongest punch. No chakra enhancement, just raw physical strength."

"You got it!" Naruto bounced on his feet, his wings flaring slightly. He approached the boulder, pulled back his fist, and punched.

**BOOM!**

The boulder didn't just crack. It **exploded** into powder, the shockwave creating a crater and sending debris flying. Trees behind it were uprooted from the force alone.

Naruto stared at his fist in awe. "Whoa."

Jiraiya's eye twitched. "That's... that's comparable to Tsunade's strength. And you didn't even use chakra?"

"Nope! That was all me!" Naruto flexed his arm. "This is so cool! What's next?"

"Speed test. Fly from here to that tree line and back. As fast as you can."

"Easy!"

Naruto crouched, his wings spreading wide, and then he was **gone**. A pink-and-gold blur shot across the training ground and back, appearing next to Jiraiya in less than two seconds.

"How was that?" Naruto asked, not even winded.

Jiraiya was scribbling notes furiously. "Faster than most Jonin. Possibly faster than me in a straight line. This is insane. You've had these powers for less than an hour!"

"Wahaha! I really am amazing!" Naruto posed dramatically.

Jiraiya looked up from his notes. "Okay, that's it. That laugh and that pose—that's not you. That's definitely this Milim's personality bleeding through."

Naruto deflated slightly. "Yeah, I'm noticing that too. I feel like... like there's this new part of me that just wants to have fun and fight strong people and laugh really loud. It's weird but also kind of nice? Like I'm more confident somehow."

"Confidence is good. Recklessness is bad." Jiraiya tapped his pen against the scroll. "We need to make sure you don't lose who you are in all this power. Your determination, your kindness, your bonds—those are what make you strong, not just raw power."

"I know, Pervy Sage." Naruto's expression became serious, his golden eyes softening. "I'm still me. I'm still Naruto Uzumaki, future Hokage. I'm just... me with awesome new powers!"

Jiraiya smiled despite himself. "Alright, kiddo. Let's continue training. We've got two weeks until the finals, and now we need to figure out how to use these abilities in actual combat. Think you can handle it?"

Naruto's grin was all fangs and excitement. "Bring it on! I'll show you what a dragonoid can do!"

As the sun began to set over the training ground, the sounds of explosions and Jiraiya's exasperated yelling echoed through the forest.

In Konoha, the Hokage stared at his still-dark crystal ball and wondered what on earth his student was doing to Naruto this time.

And in a dimension far away, a pink-haired Demon Lord giggled as she watched her new descendant begin his journey.

"He's perfect," Milim said to herself. "This is going to be so much fun! Wahaha!"
