Chapter 44 - 043. This is terrifying!

It seems Long Xing's affection toward me has already surpassed 80.

I must stay extra vigilant around him after the National Day holiday—who knows what that guy might do to me!

As for Su Peng... his affection hasn't hit 80 yet, which is still within an acceptable range. But what does that "Charmed" status mean? And what's with that indicator that keeps rising?

[Su Peng's Affection +5]

Another system notification flashed before An Han's eyes. Instantly, Su Peng's affection jumped from 77 to 82.

His heart nearly stopped.

He still didn't fully understand what crossing the 80 threshold meant, but he guessed it probably indicated something like genuine "liking" — otherwise, the system wouldn't have issued a special alert.

He turned to look at Su Peng, only to find the latter staring intently at his face, breathing heavily, eyes hazy with desire.

Glancing downward, An Han saw the unmistakable, unmistakably prominent bulge—clearly, Su Peng was overwhelmed by lust and dangerously close to crossing legal boundaries.

An Han couldn't figure out what had triggered this.

But he knew one thing for sure: if things kept going like this, he'd end up needing a visit to the proctologist.

"An Han…" Su Peng's voice was hoarse as he instinctively leaned closer.

An Han abruptly stood up, his tone unusually stern: "I just remembered I have something urgent to do. Why don't you head back first?"

"What's wrong?" Su Peng froze mid-motion, his eyes clearing slightly.

An Han panicked even more. He yanked open the dorm room door, grabbed Su Peng by the arm, and started pulling him out: "It's really urgent—just go!"

"I'll call you back later for gaming, okay? And take your laptop with you!"

He hurriedly shoved Su Peng out the door, darted back inside to grab the laptop, thrust it into Su Peng's arms, then slammed the door shut with a loud *bang*.

But the door bounced right back open, smacking An Han square in the forehead.

"Ah!"

"You okay?" Su Peng, concerned, pushed the door open again.

"I'm fine! Totally fine!" The genuine worry in Su Peng's voice flustered An Han even more. He pressed one hand to his throbbing forehead while using the other to push Su Peng away again. "Why are you blocking the door with your foot?!"

"Just go already!"

Su Peng was utterly bewildered. "What's gotten into you? One minute you're all friendly, the next you're throwing me out!"

"I'll check your forehead—it's already swelling!" Su Peng insisted gently.

But the more caring Su Peng acted, the more frantic An Han became. Ignoring the pain, he kept shoving Su Peng back. "I'll handle it myself!"

"What's actually going on?" Su Peng pressed.

An Han's mind raced, searching desperately for a plausible excuse.

No good reason came to mind—none that wouldn't sound ridiculous!

He could only plead desperately: "There really is an emergency, Su Peng. Please, just give me a minute. Okay?"

"Can't you tell me what it is?"

Those big, watery eyes blinked pleadingly. His soft, vulnerable expression was so disarmingly sweet that Su Peng instinctively stepped back two paces.

"I'll just…"

Before he could finish his sentence, those two steps carried him out of the doorway. Seizing the opportunity, An Han slammed the door shut and immediately locked it.

"Phew… crisis averted!" An Han sighed in relief—only for his eyelid to twitch again.

[Su Peng's Affection +5]

Good thing he'd kicked Su Peng out! Otherwise, that affection level might've maxed out completely!

He didn't know exactly what would happen if it hit 100, but it certainly wouldn't be anything good!

But… why did Su Peng have that "Charmed" status?

Panting heavily, An Han slid down the door and sank onto the floor.

This was way too hard.

He listened carefully. Su Peng's footsteps echoed clearly in the hallway—he was pacing back and forth, not leaving.

An Han waited anxiously until, after what felt like forever, he finally heard the sound of the neighboring dorm door opening and closing.

Frustrated, he raked his fingers through his hair, messing up his previously neat hairstyle, then pulled up the affection levels of everyone else.

"Wu Dongming's at 65… Chen Junjie at 43, Wang Sheng at 50."

So it seemed safe to assume that anyone below 70 was just a regular friend.

Anything above 70 probably meant they were… lusting after him.

He checked a few classmates he barely interacted with.

For those he only vaguely knew, affection levels hovered around 30.

"Alright, I get the gist… but what's going on with Su Peng?"

An Han muttered to himself, then suddenly froze—and looked down at his flat chest.

"Could it be… the chest binder?"

He hadn't gained any new attributes or seduction skills lately. The only new thing he'd added was this binder.

"Can I check item details?"

"…Right, I already asked once. Of course I can't."

Without wasting another second, An Han stood up, tidied his appearance slightly, and marched out of the dorm.

All he needed was a quick test.

It'd be perfectly normal to chat with a random street vendor, right?

But if even random vendors suddenly started showing skyrocketing affection toward him… that'd be seriously bad news.

Face darkening, he hurried out of the dorm building and headed straight for the campus food street.

Because it was National Day break, many stalls were closed. The usually bustling street was now eerily quiet, with hardly any students around.

An Han scanned the area, picked a friendly-looking sushi vendor, and approached:

"Hey boss, how much for a sushi roll?"

He forced a sweet, gentle smile and stood prettily in front of the stall.

The vendor, who'd been scrolling Douyin, looked up cheerfully:

"Eight yuan, miss! Want me to throw in an extra sausage for you?"

Miss?!

An Han's smile froze. His fists clenched so hard his knuckles turned white.

If this had been someone he knew, he'd have slapped them across the face—or at the very least, hurled a string of curses at their entire family.

But he kept his polite smile firmly in place: "I'll take one, please."

[Sushi Vendor's Affection +20]

If this vendor were his system-assigned target for a quest, he'd have completed it in one go.

Arms crossed, An Han waited while the vendor prepared the sushi—but noticed the man kept sneaking glances at him the entire time.

In just a few minutes, the vendor's affection had already hit 50—higher than some of his own roommates!

This was absolutely horrifying.

An Han's eyelid twitched again. Since he didn't know the vendor's name, he couldn't pull up his status in the system—but clearly, the "Charmed" effect was working on him too.

"I just remembered something urgent!" An Han blurted out. "Keep making the sushi—I'll come back for it later!"

He spun on his heel and bolted straight back to his dorm.

He had to take off this damn chest binder—and test it again.

If the vendor's affection still shot up like a rocket afterward… he'd never have a moment's peace again.
