Chapter 6 - SECRET BENEATH THE CURRENT

Chapter 7: Secrets Beneath the Current

The river seemed calmer now, yet its surface shimmered with an inner light, as though hiding truths beneath layers of water and time. She moved forward, each step guided by a current that seemed almost alive, whispering secrets she could almost.but not quite understand.

The figure who had led her to the Threshold walked silently beside her. Beyond this bend, they said, is a place the river has kept hidden for centuries. Few have seen it, and fewer still have returned changed. What lies ahead will reveal more than answers it will reveal who you truly are.

Her heart quickened. The promise of discovery both thrilled and terrified her. The village, the shadows, even the child she had glimpsed in her vision all seemed distant now, replaced by a feeling that something monumental awaited her.

As she rounded the bend, a cascade of water appeared before her, pouring down from an unseen height. But this was no ordinary waterfall within its veil, glowing shapes and colors danced, forming symbols and patterns she had never seen. They seemed to pulse with meaning, resonating with the rhythm of her heartbeat.

Step through, the figure instructed. The river will carry you to the heart of its secret. Fear nothing, and trust what it shows.

She took a deep breath and stepped into the falling water. The cold struck her first, sharp and piercing, but then she felt a strange warmth surround her, lifting her as though the river itself was cradling her. Colors and images swirled, memories both familiar and foreign flashing before her eyes. Faces, places, events some from her past, some she had never known.

Then, she saw it a door beneath the river, shimmering like glass and etched with symbols that seemed alive. Her breath caught. The river had led her here for a reason, and she instinctively knew that beyond this door lay the truth she had been seeking and perhaps more than she was ready to face.

She felt it pulling her in an invisible thread tightening with each passing moment seeking, and perhaps more than she was ready to face. The river's voice had grown stronger these past nights, no longer a whisper but a presence that wrapped itself around her thoughts. It was as if it knew her fears, her buried memories, and the questions she had spent years avoiding. Standing at its edge now, she sensed that whatever awaited her was not just a message but a reckoning, something that would demand honesty, courage, and a part of her she wasn't sure she could give.

Here's the continuation.

The moonlight shimmered across the water, forming a path of silver that seemed to beckon her forward. She hesitated, toes curling into the cool earth, listening truly listening for the first time. The night was quiet, but the quiet felt full, as though the world itself was holding its breath. She closed her eyes, letting the weight of everything she had endured settle on her shoulders. And then, softly, the river spoke again not in words, but in a feeling that rose from the water and pressed gently against her chest Come. It is time

Her breath trembled as she stepped closer, the water lapping at her ankles like a familiar hand. The cold shocked her senses, but beneath it was something else warmth, recognition, almost welcome. She knelt, fingers brushing the surface, and the river responded with a pulse that rippled outward, as though acknowledging her touch.

Memories she had buried long ago stirred faintly, rising like shadows beneath the current. The face of her mother. The sound of her father's distant laughter. The ache of choices made when she was too young to understand their weight. Each memory pressed against her heart, urging her to step deeper, to surrender to what she had run from for so long.

And though fear lingered at the edges of her mind, a strange calm began to settle within her. The river was not here to harm her. It was here to reveal something something she had been destined to know.
