Mia's pov
My life isn't like everyone else's,it's an absolute different story.I only have my dad cause I lost my mom cause she had late stage cancer so she died when I was 15,ever since then my dad changed.He began to drink,gamble all is money on bets and games and borrow money from loan sharks to gamble even though he looses everytime,He was an addict.Any time he come home every night,even if I made the slightest mistake he would beat me and kick me causing a mark on my skin and he would cause a mess and go to bed,I would clean it up and go to my room crying.I was so tired of this daily routine but I had to endure to make enough money to be able to afford college and get away from this place,but everything changed...
One day when I just got back from work,I just got my salary today and was excited I wanted to place in the hidden spot u usually keep all my money but to my shock,my money was gone,the place was scattered I was really angry cause I knew it was my dad's doing,I came to the living to confront him,he was busy watching a football match and drinking.
"Dad did you touch my money"I asked him with years already dropping from my eyes
"Yes I did so what,I needed money for a bet game"he said not even feeling any guilt,he just continued shouting cause his team was loosing while drinking his beer
"That was for me,that was for my college,That was my money!!!"I shouted with the tears fully dropping from my eyes now
"That is not any of my business am your father I have the right to touch your money"he said standing up and looking at me
"Your not my father anymore,ever since Mom died"I said and he slapped me I was upset I ran of the house,no idea of where I was running to but I just wanted to be far way from him
My legs couldn't take it anymore I collapsed on the ground crying I didn't stop crying until someone tapped my shoulder I looked up to a woman should be around her late 40's
"What's wrong dear"she said suggesting for me to stand up and sit down on a near bench close by
I don't know I strangely found comfort in her and ended up telling her everything about my life,my mom's death,my dad,and my life this past few years
"Oh dear,you have really suffered a lot"she said touching my head has I was leaning on her shoulders,It was about 10 minutes when she spoke again
"Okay why don't you stay with me if u want and if u want a job you could follow me to my job tomorrow am just around for the weekends I stay in my bosses house for the week,I might be able to talk to her to offer you a job there"she said and I was overjoyed I hugged her and didn't let her go
"Thank you so much"I said she on our way to her house that she worked for a wealthy widow middle woman,her husband died 4 years ago and she has 3 sons,I was amused and was definitely curious about it all,but the best part was getting far way from my dad and now I will have a job to start saving for my college money again
"Your 18 right"she woman asked and I nodded
"Good your up to the qualifications for the job"she said and I smiled then we got to her house.
She offered me to take a shower and gave me some of her clothes that were small on her to wear,I took a shower and wore the clothes then went to the living room where she offered me hot chocolate tea and I actually felt at home and comfy for once.
It was the next day we both headed to the bus stop to get on the bus to head to the rich woman's house I came to realization that I don't know the woman whom have been with since yesterday name
"Ma'am I completely forgot to ask of your name"I said cause I felt awkward and she laugh
"Mrs Stewart"she said and patted my leg
"Uhm am Mia Lawson"I said and smiled
We got to the other bus stop and got down I was helping her carry her luggage cause I didn't have any of my cloth and I didn't want to go back to that house,we walked a little and got to a huge mansion,when she said the woman was wealthy I didn't know she meant like this wealthy.
She pressed a button then the guards recognized her and asked her to come in
"Who are you?"they said looking at me
"She's with me"Mrs Stewart said and they allowed me to come in.
The compound was more beautiful than the outside,there was a fountain, designed grass,a garden,a swing area and so much more
We passed the back area which led to the kitchen,I have never seen anything like it in my life,I was shocked but didn't show it,some other maids were in the kitchen cooking,I followed Mrs Stewart to another room where we placed the bags and she told me to follow her.
We went to another room which I can guess is the living room,then I saw a woman she was sitting down laughing with a maid by her side while watching tv
We walked towards her and when she noticed us she said
"Mrs Stewart your back oh my God I missed you so much"she said hugging her then she noticed me
"Who is she?"she asked
I greeted her
"This is Mia,she's like a daughter to me and needs a job so I brought her along maybe you could offer her a job here as a maid,Mrs Winston"she said to her pleading
"How old is she?"Mrs Winston asked
"She's 18"Mrs Stewart said
"Can she work cause that is the main thing"she asked and I replied
"Yes ma'am am good at chores and I work really hard"I said to her
She looked at me carefully before speaking again
"Okay then,u can work here,Mrs Stewart pls give her the maid's outfit"she said I was overjoyed
"Thank you so much ma you won't regret it"I said smiling
She smiled back
"She can help them in the kitchen to prepare lunch"she said and Mrs Stewart nodded and thanked her
We went to the kitchen and Mrs Stewart gave me the outfit I changed and came to help them in the kitchen,Mrs Stewart as the head maid in the house went to attend to other matters in the house,then as I was helping cut the vegetables I a girl approached me
"Hi, am lily"she said smiling,she looks about 2 times my age
"Am Mia"I said smiling back at her
"Well what brings you to work here"she said and I just smiled
"It's a long story but mostly because i need money to save up for college"I said
"Well same,we will talk later when we are done "she said and I nodded
We finished making lunch and brought it out and I saw only Mrs Winston and a Man sitting with her I was curious but just placed the food and went back to the kitchen
When they were done eating me and lilly were stuck to do the dishes then we finally had time to talk
"Who was that man"I asked
"That's Andrew Winston,he's the second son of the family he's in his final year in college"she said and then I remember Mrs Stewart said Mrs Winston as three sons
Then she explained it all
Mrs Winston has 3 sons,the first one is Matthew Winston,he's the first son of the family,he's 25 and currently the one handling all the business stuff,then the second son is Andrew Winston,he's still in college but in his final year,he's 23 but still has a business of his own that is quite popular,then the last son,he's not currently around but studying abroad,his name is Alex Winston,he's 19 years old already in his second year in college
I was amused by all this but our attention was needed in the living room by Mrs Stewart
"I want you all to know and get reading to get the place in good shape cause the young master is coming home tonight"she said and I was shocked,guess I will be meeting him sooner than expected
