Alliison finally gathered the courage to walk toward the car. Of course, she was stranded and had no idea where to start from. At the very least, she would ask for directions. She didn't want to trust anyone—especially after what Sonia had just done to her a few minutes ago.
"Stay," came a voice from the passenger seat. It was the man's voice, and his assistant stayed back in the car.
He had wanted to hear what she was going to say—but on second thought, he stepped out of the car, holding an umbrella. Seeing his master step out, Dan quickly followed with another umbrella, shielding both himself and his master.
Allison immediately recognized him—he was the guy she had bumped into at the airport. It was dark now, but she could see his face clearly. She was already holding an umbrella above her head (his assistant had given her one). The raindrops from earlier trickled down her face and hair. Her cheeks were red—he didn't know if it was from embarrassment or the cold. Her hair clung to her face.
It was the most beautiful sight Lucian Devon had seen that day—or maybe in his entire life.
She felt safe now. She wasn't sure if it was because of him or because of the cold rain soaking her, but she could feel chills spreading across her body.
"Can you please give me a ride?" Allison asked. What was she saying? She didn't even have a place to sleep for the night, and here she was asking for a ride—to where, exactly? she thought to herself.
"I should rephrase it," Allison thought inwardly.
"Kind sir, can I please stay with you for some days?" she asked Lucian Devon.
He was surprised to hear that, he got into the car and gestured for his assistant to bring her to him.
"Thanks," Alliso said softly. Dan took another route.
They were so quiet—you could even hear a pin drop in the car.

Eventually, they reached a massive mansion. Lucian didn't know why he brought her to his own residence, but he felt she would be safer there.
Allison recognized the mansion immediately—everyone talked about it in town. There were servants, and the interior was beautifully decorated. But surprisingly, there didn't seem to be many people living there.
Apparently, his family members weren't around. It was just him and Alexa staying there. Occasionally, Alexa would bring her best friend over.
Allson was elated. And to think of it—he was the one she saw today at the audition. That meant he was her future boss.
Still, she worried about rumors spreading. Maybe she could claim to be friends with Alexa.
An old woman approached her.
"Excuse me, dear, what can I get for you?" she asked.
"Good evening, ma'am. Please show me the way to the guest room," Allison said. She didn't feel like eating anything—she had lost her appetite because of all the drama that happened earlier.
She was shown to the guest room. It was absolutely beautiful.
She really liked the style of the furniture. She found her way to the bathrom to take a shower.
Lucian was surprised at himself when he walked to her room to call her for dinner. He could have easily told the maid to do it—but he chose to go himself.
He knocked on the door. No response.
He stood there for a few moments, then decided to go in.
He heard the splash of water in the bathroom—and a sweet, melodious voice. Allison was the type who sang while taking a shower. He looked toward the glass; through the steam, he could see her figure. Her silhouette was alluring. She had a slim waist and round hips. He could clearly see her curves.
What has gotten over him?
He turned around to leave—but suddenly, the bathroom door swung open. Allison was surprised to see Lucian there. Yes, it was his house—but he knew this was her room for now. Maybe, he wanted to be with her and touch her. she cringed at the thought of him running his hands on her body.
Her cheeks turned bright red. "Oh goodness, what was I thinking?" Alllison said inwardly. This guy was a big shot, and there was no way he could fall for a girl like her.
She better push those thoughts to the back of her mind.
"Sir, is there a problem?" she asked.
"No. Just wanted to call you for dinner," he said, then quickly left the room.
But the image of the girl in a towel kept flashing through his mind.
Allioson was confused.
Wait... did my boss just come to call me for dinner himself? What happened to the cold, ruthless CEO?
She changed into her pajamas and walked down to the dining table. The maids were already gossiping.
"Is she the young master's girlfriend?"
They seemed to have a good impression of her.
It so happened that there was going to be a party in the house. After dinner, she went back to her room.
A party? She was tempted to ask if she could join.
Later that night, she heard a faint knock on the door. A young lady stood at the entrance. She looked around 26 years old—obviously one of the maids.
"Ma'am, Master Lu said I should inquire if you'd like to attend the party," the lady said.
Allison noticed the lady had an American accent, but she looked more Chinese.
"Yeah, sure," Allison replied without hesitation. She had been hoping for this anyway.
Beatrice Woods, brought out a very beautiful black gown. It had slits on both sides. Simple, yet ravishing.
The red shoes fit her perfectly.
"Thanks," Allison said.
She went to her wardrobe to look for a matching bag. Beatrice approached her with a red bag decorated with crystals. It looked like it was worth millions.
The party was going to be held that evening—but it was already 1 o'clock in the morning.
Allison slept more comfortably than she had in a long time.
She didn't know why—but she felt safe and secure these past few moments... especially around this CEO.
