"Please wait a moment, sir," Su Yaoyun replied swiftly, closing the door again. When she reopened it, she was dressed in proper attire.
Lu Yu paused in the black robe. Did this fairy change her personality? She's dressed so conservatively today.
"Follow me," Su Yaoyun said, leading him to the academy's deserted back mountain.
They stood facing each other. Su Yaoyun examined the black-robed figure carefully. After a moment, she realized she could detect nothing about his strength or background.
"We agreed to meet in ten days. Why have you come today?" Su Yaoyun asked curiously.
A helpless voice from within the black robe sighed indulgently, "My disciple has been urging me to come sooner, I had no choice."
Su Yaoyun felt a warmth in her heart. This little man still cares about me; he wasn't wrong to cherish him.
"May I see your true face?" she hesitated.
"I am just a wandering hermit, hiding my appearance for peace," the black-robed figure replied calmly. "May I ask why your disciple summoned me?"
Su Yaoyun cupped her hands. "I wouldn't dare offer instruction. I just wish to know your level of cultivation."
"Above me, lacking; below me, sufficient," the black robe replied casually.
What a strange answer. Su Yaoyun blinked, then said, "You are Lu Yu's master. I trust your character. If you have come, it must be important."
"You are straightforward. Speak, and for my disciple's sake, I might consider helping."
"The matter I seek help with is extremely dangerous. If one lacks sufficient power, even participating is ten deaths without survival. Therefore, I must test your strength to avoid endangering the innocent."
"Ten deaths without survival? I thought it was a minor issue. Then I won't help. You don't have that much influence," the black robe said coldly.
