Chapter 95 - Lycan Ascension

LUCIAN POV

The crimson light burned.

Not heat. Not pain. Something deeper—light that bypassed skin and bone to sear directly into whatever part of me carried the shadow-blood, the night-magic, the corrupted Lycan fury that had been building since conception.

"Lucian!" Mother's voice sounded distant, muffled. "Fight it! Don't let the moon—"

But I couldn't fight.

The Blood Moon's pull was absolute, inevitable as gravity. I felt my wolf rising—not Aurex, my silver-gold companion who'd learned to coexist with human thought. This was something else. Something that had been sleeping beneath Aurex, waiting for this moment.

Waiting for the call it couldn't refuse.

My bones began to break.

Not shift. Break. Snapping and reforming in configurations that shouldn't exist, creating shapes that were neither wolf nor human but caught between. I screamed—the sound tearing from my throat in frequencies that shattered what remained of the cave's ice formations.
