LEAH
I lay there almost lifelessly on my bed. Waking up from a dream I couldn't understand. This was the second time I was seeing that same figure in my dreams in a dimly lit room that only exposed his dark almond eyes staring at me like I was a dessert he couldn't wait to have after a meal .
But this time he came closer than before, his hot breath against my bare skin that made me feel unexpectedly hot and wet my body longing for his touch.
I stood up from my bed and went to make coffee, I checked the time and suddenly it felt like my eyes were about to pop off from its socket.
I was already an hour late to work, my head was so wrapped around my dream I almost forgot I could be fired. I quickly gulped my cup of coffee and threw my cup not caring where it landed.
I put on the first shirt and pants I could find in my wardrobe, styled my hair in a pony tail and grabbed my bag from the kitchen table and sprinted off.
It was raining heavily outside, everywhere muddy and my shoes getting socked with rain water.I forgot to take my umbrella while leaving the house and my clothes were already drenched but I couldn't risk it, losing this job could ruin the life I hardly had at this point.I stood under the rain in search of a cab but even the universe was against me today . Not a single one in sight,"Could this day possibly get any worse" .l muttered in anger and I got my answer .
A black Mercedes Benz moving at full speed without warning drenched my clothes in muddy water.
"What the hell!?!"I cursed standing at a place in shock and anger wiping the dirt from my hair and part of my shirt,by the time I turned to the direction of the car it had sped up and out of sight but I was sure I was going to recognize it if I ever saw it again.
I decided to walk to work. It was a long 30 mins walk from where I lived but I had to risk it.
Thoughts of getting fired ran through my mind throughout my walk…That and the dream I had kept playing in my head.
I worked as a baby sitter for a family with three kids. I rang the door bell and I was met with the face of an angry woman whose arms were crossed her face looking clearly furious.
" Well look who decided to make it " she said with an agitating voice.
" I'm so sorry I'm late Mrs Smith today is clearly not my day" I said in the best pleading voice I could. " You are two hours late. I had to cancel my work schedule this morning because of you Leah" she said, her eyes fiery with anger.
I looked down on my wet shoes my voice bare only a whisper" I'm sorry it won't happen again"
Mrs Smith sighed her expression slightly softening "I appreciate your apology Leah but I'm afraid I have to let you go , I need someone I can trust to take care of my children and unfortunately you have shown me you are not the girl for the job."
Tears welled up in my eyes but I couldn't say a word I just turned around and left."Life sucks!" I whispered to myself trying not to let the tears that were already almost blocking my view from dropping.
I could feel her eyes linger on me and her expression a mix of disappointment and anger for finding a new babysitter.
I walked on the lonely sidewalk, the rain pouring down on me, my blonde long hair getting wetter and the mud on me getting more sticky but I couldn't care less, the deed had been done. Just then I recognized the black Mercedes that splashed water on me earlier and I had only one thing in mind…Give him a piece of my mind .
