Chapter 161 - Even If I Never See The Sun Tomorrow... Nobody Can Judge Me!

When people die, some Nen vanish completely, but those with an especially strong will can give rise to powerful Post-Mortem Nen.

Such Nen can even bring the person back to life.

For example... Hisoka.

In the future, during his battle with Chrollo at Heavens Arena, he was trapped in the center of the stage and died of asphyxiation from the explosion.

However, due to the powerful Post-Mortem Nen generated after his death, he was resurrected.

He even used his Nen ability to restore the appearance of his mutilated body and restrained Machi, who came to treat him.

Then, in the bathroom, he killed the Phantom Troupe members, Shalnark and Kortopi, earning himself the title of toilet war god in one battle.

So, there are indeed several ways for someone to resurrect themselves.

Risnorth's method, however, relied on using On to bring his child back to life.

As for On, Jed had the most say in this power.

After being killed by Netero, decades later, the descendants of the new Shadow organization returned to the battlefield where Jed had died.

By stimulating On, they resurrected Jed.

And within a short time, he grew from an infant to the peak of youth!

That alone proved how extraordinary On was.

But that applied only to Jed.

No one in this world understood On better than him.

Only someone who had refined it to the utmost could achieve such a return.

For anyone else, it was impossible.

Not to mention Risnorth's son, whose death was utterly gruesome.

In both Hisoka's and Camilla's cases, resurrection was possible largely because their bodies were relatively intact.

Risnorth's son, whose head and body had been severed apart, was far beyond saving.

Failure was, naturally, to be expected.

"But I can't accept it!!"

Risnorth's eyes were bloodshot as he roared: "I clearly saw hope! I was so close to success, and now you're telling me it's failed?! How am I supposed to accept that?!!"

There's nothing more painful in this world than losing hope, being shown a glimmer of it again, only to be plunged into despair once more.

That drop from heaven to hell is enough to drive anyone mad.

"Can't accept it...?"

After listening to Risnorth's outburst, Luke's expression remained calm.

"Those children, you captured them and did those things to them for this purpose, didn't you?"

"Yes, exactly!!"

Risnorth stared into Luke's eyes, his lips twisting into a malicious grin.

"Everything I did was to bring my son back to life!"

"Those children should feel honored that they could serve such a purpose!! They should even thank me!!"

This guy is beyond saving.

Luke saw this and simply shook his head. "Hopeless."

"Hopeless? Do I need saving from you?!"

Risnorth sneered. "My heart already died with Palias the day he died… and now you show up, what are you trying to be, be some hero of justice that comes to vanquish evil?!!"

"Hero of justice? That makes it sound like I'm in a drama."

Luke said lightly, recalling memories of filming Battle of the Beasts.

As expected, there's always a huge difference between reality and filming a movie.

"I just wanted to verify whether you were the one who sent people to Meteor City and abducted the children there..."

Luke said this, then slowly stood up. "Now it seems that's completely unnecessary."

"Meteor City?"

At this, Risnorth seemed to react.

"Meteor City's strengthened defenses were your doing, right?"

A flicker of realization crossed his eyes. "And what slogans were you shouting about?"

"I never thought a place as shabby as Meteor City could produce talent!"

At this, Risnorth's eyes flashed with disdain.

But this wasn't directed at Meteor City or Luke, but at the tall secretary who had reported to him earlier: "You still say there's absolutely no leaks. I already know that idiot is a complete jeopardizer."

"I was planning to give him a good beating later, but now it seems..."

He curled his lips: "There's no chance."

Judging by the skill and strength of the man from Meteor City standing in front of him, Risnorth estimated there was absolutely no possibility of escape.

Even though his bodyguards might still be outside, Risnorth believed that if he dared open his mouth and call for outside help, before his voice could even reach anyone, his head would already have been twisted off.

"It looks like my time ends here today."

Risnorth said this, and for the first time, an expression of relief crossed his face.

"I can finally let everything go and go find Palias!!"

"However..."

He glanced around his office and suddenly laughed.

Risnorth finally looked at Luke: "Even if I never see the sun tomorrow..."

"Nobody can judge me!!!!"

He uttered these last words with all his might, his chest heaving as he roared out in anger.

And then, completely ignoring Luke, who was right there, he spun around and slammed himself into the French window behind him.

Crack!!

The sound of shattering glass echoed throughout the room.

Risnorth, with all his might, smashed through the French window of his room.

His entire body was hurled high into the sky outside.

"Wait, Palias, daddy's coming!"

High in the air, Risnorth could clearly feel his center of gravity plummeting. A relieved smile spread across his face.

"Don't be afraid, we'll meet soon. Daddy's coming for you!"

There was even a glint of longing in his eyes.

Whoosh!

He began to descend rapidly. It was as if the ground he was jumping toward was not concrete, but a heavenly passage leading to Palias's world.

Lost in his own reverie, Risnorth was about to slowly close his eyes.

But at that moment…

Swish!!

A barely perceptible, entwined friction descended from the sky, instantly engulfing Risnorth's entire body!

"You're not allowed to die simply because you want to."

Inside the room, Luke watched the broken window and the fierce wind blowing in, whistling harshly.

"You kidnapped the kid from Meteor City and brought them here, committing so many evil deeds, and now you think your own death will put an end to it all."

"Nothing in this world is that easy."

Luke said, then looked towards the doorway, where Machi had already slipped in.

"Pull him up."

Whoosh!!

As Luke finished speaking, Machi casually moved her wrist and fingers.

The tangled threads tugged, forcibly pulling Risnorth, who was bound outside the window, toward them.
