The second anchor failed beneath Lira's strike, and Sagiri felt one arm come free of the chain that had held it since midnight.
Nokai answered the sudden slack with a rough metallic shiver, as though the blade itself distrusted the offer of movement.
Kiana pressed two fingers against the damaged sigil, correcting the flow before the broken line could spread any further through the outer ring.
Lira came at her through the gap, taking a shallow cut across her side while she forced Kiana back from the central stone.
"Do not repair it," Sagiri called, reaching for Nokai with his one free hand, "keep her away from the anchors and I'll break the rest from inside."
Lira's knees nearly buckled under the effort, though she turned the stumble into a low strike against Kiana's wrist.
"You're still giving orders while your body sits trapped in a machine," she said, breath ragged, "that sounds familiar to both of us."
