Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 Undercurrent

Alec was feeling restless. He quickly flew into the apartment building and, with his keen intuition as a vampire, easily found the apartment of his target, Mia.

However, when he stepped into the room, he found Mia lying silently on the floor, without a breath of life.

This made him frown, and an ominous premonition arose in his heart.

He looked around but didn't see Dmitri. Alec immediately realized that the matter might not be simple.

He followed the sound and quickly rushed to an apartment upstairs.

When he rushed upstairs, he saw Dmitri kneeling on one knee, his body trembling slightly, holding a pillow in his hand, as if it was his only support.

Alec was shocked. He thought Dmitri was attacked, and immediately urged the black mist in his body to emerge from his palm like a spirit snake, ready to deal with possible enemies.

"Dmitri, what's wrong with you?" Alec's calm expression was broken and he shouted anxiously, his voice full of worry and concern for his companions.

Dmitri slowly turned his head, his playboy expression completely gone, his eyes filled with a mixture of surprise, pain and regret.

The blood at the corner of his mouth made his trembling lips unusually obvious. He spoke with difficulty, "She appeared, my retribution... She appeared. But I can't find any trace of her."

Hearing this, Alec couldn't help but feel confused. He asked, "Who showed up? What are you talking about?"

Dmitri did not answer directly, but closed his eyes in pain and continued to explore with his dark talent in vain.

After a long moment, he gave up dejectedly and spoke slowly: "My singer, Alec, my singer has appeared."

"I can't find any trace of her. She's like a phantom, appearing and disappearing."

Dmitri buried his entire face into the pillow in his hands, trying to feel more of his singer's breath.

"My dark talent has no effect on her!"

Upon hearing this, Alec's face changed suddenly. He knew very well what the singer meant to the vampires.

The existence of the singer is an irresistible temptation and fatal attraction for every vampire.

The pain and regret that Dmitri showed at this moment was obviously because he could sense his singer but could not touch her.

"Dmitri, are you sure that's your singer?" Alec's voice was solemn and worried.

He understood that if Dmitri really met his singer, the fateful entanglement between them might become more complicated and dangerous.

Dmitri nodded painfully, his eyes filled with endless sadness and longing.

He said: "Yes, Alec, I can feel her breath. Her presence is like a fatal temptation to me. She was here just now, but now she is gone..."

Dmitri was muttering incoherently. It was obvious that losing the singer was a huge blow to him, almost driving him crazy.

Alec couldn't help but feel a surge of sympathy and helplessness. He understood the torment that Dmitri was going through at the moment.

As vampires, they must control their desires and impulses, otherwise they will fall into endless pain and madness.

"Dmitri, calm down. You'll find her. You're the best hunter, aren't you?"

Alec tried to comfort Demetri, "And the Volturi have the most powerful information network. We will find her soon."

"Yes, I am the best hunter. Even without using my dark talent, I will definitely find him."

Dmitri took a deep breath and tried to calm himself. He couldn't fall into madness. His singer had finally appeared, the most important person in his eternal life.

Alec breathed a sigh of relief as he watched Dmitri's expression gradually calm down. Although Dmitri's eyes were still black, at least he had regained his basic sanity.

So, he nodded and said, "You check this place and gather some basic information. I'll notify Heidi and have her use technology to gather information at the same time. We'll be able to get her information soon."

Dmitri nodded gratefully and began to organize and collect the information in the room.

Based on the items and smells in the apartment, they quickly concluded that two young girls lived there.

This made Alec feel relieved temporarily. At least Dmitri's singer had no partner, otherwise he couldn't imagine Dmitri's jealous and crazy look.

"They left in a hurry. They must have just left and have no intention of returning to this place."

Alec pointed to the unmade quilt on the bed, the half-empty wardrobe, and the vanished suitcase.

Demetri nodded, looking at the snack box on the table, thoughtfully, "She must be acquainted with the prey downstairs."

This is not good news. My singer is probably well aware of my bad love game.

The thought of his singer showing disgust towards him made Dmitri grab his clothes at his chest in pain.

Alec showed a sympathetic expression. This was indeed not good news.

It seems that Heidi's crow's mouth is quite effective. I hope her hacking skills are also good enough to provide them with some useful information.

On the other side, Dora and Yara came to an abandoned church in the suburbs with their luggage.

The interior of the church was dark and silent, broken only by the occasional rays of light filtering through the broken stained glass windows.

This was one of the several places Dora had explored in advance. Years of living in danger had taught them how to apply the saying "a cunning rabbit has three burrows" to reality.

Dora repeatedly used her special powers to explore the surrounding situation and nodded to Yara.

Yara nodded, put her backpack aside, went to a hidden corner, took out the dry firewood she had prepared in advance, and lit a bonfire. Dora set up secret marks around the church to prevent people or animals from approaching quietly.

This kind of wilderness survival activity was a piece of cake for the two of them. They sat around the fire, the flames dancing, reflecting their focused and contemplative eyes, as if they were making a careful plan for their next move.

"Yara, the secret mark I left on the door of the apartment has been moved." Dora's gentle voice suddenly sounded, breaking the silence, but the content made Yara immediately alert.

Yara frowned, a hint of doubt and uneasiness flashing in her eyes. She quickly ran through various possibilities in her mind, trying to solve this sudden mystery:

"Why were we attacked? Have we been inadvertently involved in some terrorist plot? Or have we become the target of human trafficking? Or is there a serial killer hiding here?"

"We have too little information to jump to conclusions." Dora moved the wood in the fire. "I hope it was just a matter of convenience. Otherwise, there will be a lot of trouble later."

Yara scratched her hair irritably and waved her fist. "If they piss me off, I'll kill them all."

Dora couldn't help laughing when she saw Yara's smooth black hair turned into a mess in an instant. She walked forward and gently straightened her hair.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of everything. We're not afraid of the enemy, we just don't want to get involved in any trouble."

When Yara heard Dora's words, a childlike smile instantly broke out on her face, as if she had found a small safe haven to escape reality.

She rested her head gently on Dora's thigh, her posture both dependent and playful, like a big golden retriever longing for its owner's caress.

She asked slyly, "Does that mean I don't have to go to school? Hey, then I won't have to worry about those annoying homework anymore!"

Although Yara was very happy in her heart, she pretended to be deeply regretful on the surface, trying to make this "sacrifice" seem more "heavy".

However, her twinkling eyes and slightly raised mouth corners betrayed her true thoughts.

Dora couldn't help but laugh softly when she saw Yara's expression. She knew that this little girl could always find some fun in the most tense moments.

"Okay, Yara, it's time for vacation again." Dora touched Yara's head lovingly, "However, you will be the one to negotiate for our trip this time."

Yara was stunned for a moment, then said confidently, "No problem, leave it to me. I have a trump card!"

Dora blinked, held her chin in feigned surprise, and asked, "Goddess Yara, what is your trump card? Tell me quickly so I can learn!"

Seeing this, Yara became even more proud, as if she was about to reveal a shocking secret.

She jumped up suddenly and started performing with her hands and feet. Sometimes she pretended to drink water gracefully, and sometimes she pretended to eat voraciously. She even imitated all kinds of exaggerated expressions and movements. There was simply nothing she couldn't think of.

"Haha, this is my trump card - the super invincible expression imitation method!" Yara announced proudly, with a confident and happy smile on her face.

She knew that although this so-called "trump card" sounded a little funny, it could have unexpected effects when negotiating with others.

After all, who can resist a girl who is so lively, cute and creative?

Dora watched Yara's exaggerated performance and laughed so hard that she almost cried.

She knew that although Yara sometimes seemed childish, she was full of wisdom and courage. Letting Yara handle the negotiations on this trip was undoubtedly a wise choice.

"Alright, alright, Goddess Yara, your killer move is truly amazing!"

Dora smiled and clapped, her eyes full of admiration and encouragement. "This trip, it's up to you to show off your skills. I believe you can use your super invincible expression to imitate Dafa and conquer everyone you meet."

When Yara heard Dora's praise, she was even more proud, as if she had already seen the scene of herself successfully negotiating and returning triumphantly.

She patted her chest and vowed, "Don't worry, Dora! I will definitely use my trump card to escort us on this trip!"

"Come here and get some rest. I'll be on guard tonight."

Dora waved to Yara, placed her next to her, helped Yara straighten her long hair, covered her with a blanket, and gently patted her back to coax the big baby to sleep.

Dora stared at the warm bonfire, but her thoughts were not as calm as her appearance. She had a premonition that this incident was probably just the beginning.

Thinking of this, a cold light flashed in her eyes, and a piece of gravel in the distance turned into sieved powder.
