Song Liu knew he had messed up big time by touching that stupid towel, but he never expected the payback to be this fucking fast and this damn public. The moment the last bell rang, before Song Liu could even pack his cheap books, Liang Xu was waiting for him right outside the classroom door, flanked by about five of his biggest, meanest jock friends who looked ready to cause some serious pain. There were tons of students streaming out, and they all stopped to stare, creating a huge, silent circle around the two of them. Song Liu felt the blood completely drain from his face, realizing this wasn't going to be a secret push or shove in the stairwell; this was going to be a spectacle, an absolute public execution of the nerd.
Liang Xu didn't even yell; he just walked up to Song Liu with this cold, terrifying look on his face, grabbed him by the front of his shirt, and violently shoved him backward into the lockers, making a huge CRASH that echoed through the hall. "Did you really think you could get away with vandalism, you little piece of trash?" Liang Xu hissed, his voice low but loud enough for everyone to hear, his grip tightening painfully on Song Liu's collar. He didn't wait for an answer. Liang Xu then hauled Song Liu forward and punched him hard right in the stomach. The blow wasn't light; it hurt like a son of a bitch, knocking the wind completely out of Song Liu's lungs and making him double over, coughing and gasping for air. The crowd just stared, completely silent and terrified.
As Song Liu struggled for breath, Liang Xu grabbed his hair and yanked his head up so everyone could see his pathetic, tear-filled face. "This is what happens when you try to step out of you're fucking lane and touch things that don't belong to you," Liang Xu snarled, holding Song Liu up like a trophy. He then delivered a hard kick to Song Liu's shin, making the poor boy finally crumble and fall to the floor in a miserable, gasping heap of pain and pure humiliation. None of the students dared to move; they were all too scared of the rich bully's terrifying power.
Liang Xu didn't stop there. He stood over Song Liu, who was now clutching his stomach and sobbing silently on the cold tile floor, and he kicked his backpack across the hall. "Stay home, Scrub. I don't want to see your worthless face here ever again, or the next time, I promise you, it will be worse," he finished, his voice final and totally menacing. Then, as quickly as the attack started, Liang Xu and his jock posse just walked away, completely untouched and laughing, leaving Song Liu lying there in a fetal position, bruised, aching, and totally broken in front of his entire school. The whole world suddenly felt dangerous and cruel, and Song Liu was utterly alone in his pain.
