Kakashi Hatake POV
– Kakashi-sensei, wait a second, I'm not getting something… – Naruto said, and I looked at him
– What? – I asked calmly, already guessing what he was going to ask
– I know nee-chan isn't my real sister, since I'm the only legitimate son of Minato and Kushina… – He scratched his head lightly – But then who were her real parents
– Your sister never got the chance to meet her real parents – I explained – But she always said she got two wonderful ones instead – I looked at him – And also you as a brother, right before losing her blood brother
– She had a blood brother? – I nodded slightly
– Yeah, he was one of the best shinobi our village ever had – I said – And he was also someone very important to Amaya
– But how did she meet him? – Naruto asked and I looked at him – You said she didn't know her real parents, and since the other kids in that lab died, he couldn't have been there. So how did she even meet him
– I already told you how they met – Uzumaki looked at me confused – They first saw each other by chance, without knowing the truth yet, in her first days in the village
– When she was at the hospital? – I nodded – Wait! – He jumped from his chair, slamming his hands on the table in front of him – You're saying Shisui-san was her brother?! – I agreed
– That's right. Shisui Uchiha was Amaya's older brother
– But she's an Uzumaki! – The boy said a little louder – With red hair and everything!
– If it was just about hair, you wouldn't be an Uzumaki either – I argued calmly, and he stopped for a moment – Besides, did you forget her other traits? Like that dark streak in her hair, typical of the Uchiha clan? – He sat back down at the table and gave a weak smile
– Nee-chan is amazing… – He looked at me again – But how did she find that out? I mean, she's an Uzumaki but also an Uchiha. How did she know?
– It took us years to figure everything about your sister, but from what she and my father told me, it all started when Minato took her to the Analysis Team, from Konoha's Intelligence Division

Amaya POV
Ever since I got to Konoha, this would be my first time leaving the hospital and actually seeing part of the big village I'd only watched from the window. I couldn't even imagine what was out here, I thought
I had put on the clothes Minato brought me: a dark green long-sleeved dress that went down to my knees and a pair of black flats. As we left the room, I walked beside Minato through a long corridor
We turned the first right and I saw another long corridor, just like the last one. We went down the stairs at the end and I could already see the brightness coming from outside the hospital
We were walking through what looked like the hospital's main hall. There were some people there, both workers and patients. I noticed some eyes falling on me and felt something weird from them toward me
What's this bad feeling? I thought, lowering my eyes a bit so they wouldn't look at me, trying to avoid it
– So that's her… – I heard someone whisper
– She doesn't look that dangerous… – Another commented
– Don't be fooled, nobody knows what she's capable of! – Someone else said a little louder, clearly so the others around could hear
I lowered my head and moved a little closer to Minato. At least he didn't look at me with those eyes of disgust. Not just him, I thought quickly, Sakumo and Shisui also treated me well
Minato reached his hand out to me and gave a faint smile, making me take it
We passed through the hospital entrance and I needed a moment to get used to the light. It was a sunny day but not hot, thanks to a light breeze
– Don't pay attention to them – Minato said as we walked, and I looked at him – They're just scared
– Because I attacked nurse Yumi-san? – I asked after a few moments, making the blonde look at me
– Partly – I lowered my eyes – But also because you're different – I looked at him, confused
– What do you mean?
– Sometimes people are afraid of what they don't understand
– When you don't understand something, you can't control what might happen – I muttered, making Minato give a small laugh, and I stared at him confused – Am I wrong?
– No, no… – He smiled faintly – I just think it's interesting how your mind's ahead compared to your age – He looked at me warmly – Reminds me a bit of Kakashi-san
– Kakashi-san? – I asked
– Sakumo's son. I think you two are the same age – Minato looked ahead
The rest of the way, wherever we were going, was quiet. Even though I noticed some people giving me strange looks, there weren't any more comments like in the hospital
The only thing that bothered me was my blurry vision. I always thought my eyes were like that because of the tank I lived in, but it had been almost a week and my vision still hadn't changed
– Minato-sama… – I called him and he looked at me – Why do things get so blurry when they're far?
– Blurry? – He asked, and I nodded slightly
– Yeah. When something's close, I can see clearly, but if it's far, it's all blurry, like being underwater – He stared at me for a moment
– That can only mea—
– Minato-san! – Someone interrupted before he could finish
We stopped and I saw a young guy with a stern expression coming toward us. He had a scar on the right side of his face and wore a bandana covering most of his head
– Ibiki-san… – Minato said – Did Inoichi send you?
– He asked me to tell you everything's ready – Minato nodded lightly and before turning, Ibiki looked quickly at me
Unlike the other adults, he didn't look at me with fear. But he didn't look at me like Minato, Sakumo, or Shisui either. His expression was dark, almost a mix of indifference and disdain. We followed him the rest of the way
– Will you be watching today, Ibiki-san? – Minato asked, probably to break the silence
– I personally asked Inoichi to let me watch – He said without even looking at Minato – I hope I can learn something while they investigate her
Investigate me? I thought. What's he talking about? And why is he talking like I'm not even here?
– You know Inoichi's only going to look for information about who ran the lab and anyone involved – Minato said next – It won't add much to your training in the Force
– The Torture and Interrogation Force also needs to improve softer methods for some enemies. She might be useful either way
– Please… – I said – Don't talk like I'm not here – Ibiki looked back at me over his shoulder and then turned his gaze forward
We entered a large building soon after. We passed through several corridors and closed rooms, then went down what seemed like two floors until we were walking through a long, dark hallway
When we entered one of the rooms at the end, I could see better because of the bright lighting there. There were several people talking, but as soon as we walked in, a heavy silence fell
Ibiki went past us to the back of the room until he disappeared from view. The others went back to what they were doing, but this time with their voices lower than before
I glanced quickly around the room, though I couldn't see far. I noticed several work tables and a large semi-circular metal structure further away
– Minato-sama… – I called, making him look at me – Why did you bring me here?
– It might be a bit complicated for you to understand… I don't even know how to explain it simply… – He said, scratching his head lightly
– Come on, Minato, she seems smart enough – A male voice said, coming closer
I saw a man with long, lighter blonde hair than Minato's approaching us. He was smiling faintly and Minato smiled the same way
– Inoichi… – Minato said casually – Always butting in
The man called Inoichi laughed, as did Minato. They seem to know each other well, I thought, since they speak so informally with each other. They shook hands and Inoichi looked at me
– You must be Amaya-chan – The man with long blonde hair said, crouching a bit near me – This spiky-haired guy here – He pointed at Minato – hasn't stopped talking about you for a minute – Inoichi put his hand near his mouth like he was going to whisper – I just want to imagine Kushina's face when she finds out he's acting all soft for another girl
Inoichi glanced sideways at Minato and laughed. Minato also laughed but clearly nervous. Because of that, I ended up laughing faintly, making them both look at me more relaxed
– Well, Amaya-chan… – Inoichi went on – Since Minato didn't tell you why you're here, I better do it myself
He explained quickly that the building we were in was Konoha's headquarters for the Analysis Team of the Intelligence Division. The section we were in specialized in gathering information from people's minds, usually to extract intel from captured enemies
In my case, they wanted to see what I had seen in the lab so they could try to find out who was behind the experiments or any associates. But something told me they also wanted to look for something else. I didn't ask or interrupt his explanations though
Inoichi told me not to worry since I wouldn't feel anything during the process because it was impossible to stay conscious once he began
After all the explanations, I followed him and Minato to the semi-circular metal structure at the back of the room. Inoichi asked me to sit in the chair in the middle of the semicircle
– This equipment works as a mind amplifier – Inoichi said in front of me – With it, the other team members can follow the information I find
– With this you'll be able to find who created me? – I asked
– That's the idea. And maybe other kids like you
– I hope I can help with what I know – Inoichi gave a faint smile
Some of the people in the room came closer to the metal semicircle behind me and placed their hands on it. The others stayed back, watching. Ibiki was among them, still with that empty expression
– Minato, I'd like you to join us – Inoichi said and the blonde nodded slightly
Minato took his place with the others at the semicircle and put his hands on the panel. Inoichi stood in front of me and I looked at him
– Try to relax as much as you can – He asked – It'll be easier for me to search – I nodded slightly in agreement – Let's begin
Inoichi placed his hands on my head and closed his eyes. I closed mine too and felt like I was suddenly falling, everything around me turning dark.
