Sweat poured down from their forehead, and they gulped in their throat. Their eyes were filled with shock, and their bodies shivered with cold.
Didn't you know what happened? If anyone sees a dragon, they immediately kill the dragon. So how could the head of the family's daughter marry a dragon? That didn't even happen, so don't even think about it.
Then Elanor said, "I already told you, I don't know anything. I was just repeating what my classmates told me. But the only thing I know that is true is that she is the prettiest and most beautiful girl the world has ever seen."
She had black hair with red eyes and a very pretty face. Her skin was so white that milk was even slightly darker than her skin. But the saddest thing was that she didn't have any power, "so no one dared to marry her."
Jai got into his class and met his friends, Krex and Nick.
Nick—a handsome boy with black hair and black eyes—said to Jai, "Did you prepare for the test?"
Krex—who had dark, earthen skin, black hair, and blue eyes—interjected, "You think the new head of this era isn't going to be ready for the test?"
Nick added, "Yes, you are right. He is the king of this world, after all. We have to respect him."
"If we joke about him, he is going to kill us," Jai said to Nick and Krex. "My head is throbbing with pain, so please shut your mouths as soon as possible, or I am going to rip your tongue out of your mouth right at this moment. So, please, shut the fuck up."
His friends, Nick and Krex, quickly left the place and sat at another seat.
After the academy was over, Jai got into his big black horse-drawn cart. The carriage was lined with dark, polished wood, and the hooves of the muscular draft horses clip-clopped rhythmically on the cobblestone street.
The driver, Jai's uncle, had white hair and black eyes. He wore spectacles and had a deep scar where his left eye should have been—lost in a past fight. He asked Jai what present he wanted for his upcoming birthday.
The thing here was that the driver was Jai's uncle, but because he didn't have much magical power, he was seen as a failure in the family, just like Rena. He always took good care of Jai because Jai had the potential to become the next head of the family. He always pampered him, but Jai knew his intention.
Jai casually replied, "I don't want anything. Your blessings are all I want, so please take care of yourself."
The horse cart ascended a long, winding, tree-lined driveway. The air was fresh and crisp, carrying the scent of damp earth and pine needles from the ancient forest that bordered the estate. The Chenwongo house was an immense structure of grey, polished stone, its windows glittering like jewels in the setting sun. Roses and ivy climbed the sturdy walls, their vibrant colors a stark contrast to the house's formidable appearance.
Jai got into his house, and his mother, Mable, came to him. "What present do you want? Your birthday is arriving, and your competition is also coming up. You have to practice a lot. If you win that competition, Mom is going to buy you what you want, so practice well."
"Your father is going to come home late because of the heavy work," she added. "He's going to stay at the office for some time."
Jai's father, Edward Chenwongo, had blonde hair and blue eyes, just like Jai. Jai was the exact copy of his father. His father was a Tier 3 (Primordial Vein) Time and Space user. He could control time and space beyond limits and expectations.
Jai's mother, Mable, was a Tier 4 (Ascendant) Water and Ice user. The head of the family, Beatrice Chenwongo, was a Tier 2 (Eclipse Borne) master of Fire, Water, Ice, Thunder, Time, and Space elements. She also had the ability to summon her elemental beasts.
In this world, power is everything; those with stronger powers become the worthy ones.
The power system works from Tier 10 to Tier 1. At Tier 1, you gain god-like powers, but the stronger you get, the stronger the pain you experience becomes. As the saying goes, "Every power comes with a price." Every time you gain strength, you are going to lose something in your life.
The elemental powers that humans know are: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning/Thunder, Ice, Nature/Wood, Metal, Shadow/Darkness, Light, Gravity, Time, Spirit/Ethereal, Sound, Poison/Toxin, Crystal, Storm, and Void/Chaos (18 elements).
Around ten thousand years ago, the only person to master all 18 powers in his entire life was Yaowang Ming. He mastered all the powers through practice and was the only one who awakened a new 19th power called the "Vein Eater."
The 18 elemental powers that humans know are
Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Lightning/Thunder, Ice, Nature/Wood, Metal, Shadow/Darkness, Light, Gravity, Time, Spirit/Ethereal, Sound, Poison/Toxin, Crystal, Storm, Void/Chaos.
The tier 10 people called "ignitors"
the tier 9 called "current walker"
The tier 8 people called "pulse binder"
The tier 7 people called "vein weaver"
The tier 6 called "domain shaper"
The tier 5 called "crucial borne"
The tier 4 called "Ascendant"
The tier 3 called "primordial vein"
The tier 2 called 'eclipse borne"
The tier 1 called "vein sovereign"
and
The tier 0 called "origin vein"
The people from tier 10 to 3 are having the mortal body the people who conquer tier 3 is immortal beings.
Their blood also changes when they rank up their tier. From tier 10 to 7 they have azure blood(sky blue blood)
From tier 6 to 4 they have the viridian blood(green blood)
For tier 3 they have the obsidian blood (black blood)
For tier 2 to 1 they have ivory blood(golden blood)
For tier 0 they have crimson blood it filled with crimson dark red blood and also filled with all other colour bloods combined with in it.
Most of the people in the world don't know that tier 0 existed. Even the higher authority doesn't such tier existed.
The world does not know about some hidden elemental powers also; only a few royal people know they exist. Not even the head of the family, Beatrice Chenwongo, knows all the powers.
Powers are awakened when the Awakening Ceremony is held. Every boy or girl can attend the ceremony once when they turn eighteen. This ceremony is very important to Jai and all others who have just turned eighteen because it changes their fates. Some people may get their powers awakened; some may not. It's all based on their body and their willpower; some bodies can only maintain one power, and some can maintain more than one.
In the Chenwongo family, everyone thought Jai was the reincarnation of their old ancestor, "Emperor Dominatrix," the second strongest being in her era. This is because Jai already has a core in his body, but it won't develop until the Awakening Ceremony occurs.
Jai's birthday was tomorrow, and the ceremony was going to be held a week after. Jai was not the only one in the Chenwongo family who was going to attend the Awakening Ceremony; his cousins were also attending.
Jai's mother, Mable, entered Jai's room. She woke him with a cup of coffee. Jai opened his eyes and saw his mother wearing a beautiful blue dress combined with matching blue ornaments. The room was filled with her subtle, cool fragrance, and her presence was immense because she was a Tier 4 (Ascendant).
"Good Morning, Mom. Thank you for the coffee, Ma'am," Jai said.
Mable smiled. "Wake up, man! Today's your birthday. You have to go and freshen up immediately."
Jai got up from his bed, took the coffee from his mother's hand, and walked onto the balcony. Mable left Jai's room. He sat in the chair placed in the balcony and looked out at the garden outside his house.
The garden was a masterpiece of intentional design, featuring sculpted hedges and exotic, glowing flora that only grew where magic was strong. A gentle mist hung over a small, reflective pond.
His face was calm, but his heart was filled with tension. This was the birthday that could change his fate. After one week, the Awakening Ceremony was going to be held. He also had to endure so much pain if he didn't have any powers. Everyone was not going to awaken powers, and he saw the live example in his daily life: his aunt, Rena Chenwongo.
Rena, the daughter of the head of the family (Beatrice Chenwongo), didn't awaken a power, even as the child of the strongest member of the family. She faced many consequences and problems because she didn't awaken any powers.
He also felt tense because he had already learned how to use almost nine elemental magics (Fire, Water, Ice, Thunder, Light, Wood, Wind, Metal, and Gravity). If he didn't awaken a power, what was the reason for learning the magic?
