Fury and Banner had a conversation, and when Fury returned, his expression was indifferent, indicating that the outcome was within his expectations.
First, Fury suggested that Banner try to become a superhero.
Banner was stunned at the time.
What kind of international joke is this!
He couldn't control Hulk's power at all. Becoming a superhero to help others… help others go to heaven?
Banner decisively refused.
However, Banner agreed to sacrifice some freedom and temporarily reside in the Stark Tower Underground Room, on the condition that Fury invest manpower and resources into researching ways to eliminate Hulk and help him return to being a normal person.
Fury readily agreed to this; as for whether he would research eliminating Hulk or utilizing Hulk, that remained unknown.
Additionally, Banner and Betty agreed to become technical consultants for the Avengers as scientists, providing scientific theory and technical support to the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Fury sneered, "Too naive, too simple. A duck in the pot, let's see how you fly!"
Finally, Banner asked to see Mike to talk privately.
Fury relayed Banner's request, and Mike impatiently said, "No, I'm not a Doctor, and besides, Doctors charge by the minute. And I'm super busy, okay… Jarvis, don't clear my line, damn it, you tumor!"
"Just see him~" Fury said in a high-pitched voice.
Mike looked at Fury with a horrified expression, "Don't use that tone, and don't make that gesture, please, big brother. This is murder, blatant murder, do you understand?!"
Fury returned to his normal tone, "So, are you going to see him or not?"
His eyes were provocative, showing a fearless spirit that seemed to say, 'If you don't see me, I'll act shamelessly for you.'
As the ancients said: A person who is shameless is invincible. The ancients did not deceive me.
"See him, see him, see him! Is that enough… A nuclear weapon is most intimidating before it's launched. Promise me, Nick, don't be like that, your effeminate act really ruins my appetite. Damn it, Jarvis, why are you tower diving! It's completely baffling. Sigh, even AI is a pitfall, can this game even…" Mike indicated that his mentality had collapsed.
Next, with Jarvis's strong "assistance," Mike's home crystal quickly exploded in a spiral ascension.
"I'm not playing anymore," Mike pushed away the keyboard.
This wasn't playing a game; it was clearly being played by his teammates and the game itself.
Just then, Stark walked over, smiling, holding a lemonade.
Something was off!
That lewd smile definitely meant something suspicious.
Mike narrowed his eyes, "Was that 'Universe Invincible Super Handsome' who was laning against me you?"
Stark laughed heartily, "Hahaha, bingo! You guessed it."
"So that's why Jarvis was so bad, right?"
"Sorry, Mike. I'm just a poor employee and cannot defy my boss's orders."
"Jarvis, with a boss like that, you're truly pitiful."
"I think so too."
Mike suddenly thought of a question, "Wait, Tony! Why such a coincidence that you were matched against me, and how did you know it was me laning against you? You didn't invade the game company's servers, did you?"
Stark tilted his head, "Hey, hey, what do you take me for? Invading games, that kind of illegal act, I disdain it. Buying the game company and browsing your own servers, how can that be called invading!"
Mike indicated that he was enlightened.
With no gaming experience at all, Mike could only go to the Stark Tower Underground Room.
Though called an Underground Room, it wasn't the dark, cramped, and messy place seen in horror movies. Except for that special "cell," the rest was no different from a luxurious apartment.
"Hello, Mr. Tang, Bruce is in his room. I'll go call him out," Betty said warmly, "Would you like something to drink?"
"Just call me Mike. Do you have iced cola?" Mike urgently needed happy Water to restore his mindset.
"Yes, just a moment." Betty first went to the special "cell" to call Banner, then went to get the drinks.
Mike found that Banner had already removed his bandages, and all his wounds had scabbed over—which should be Hulk's doing.
"Hello!" Bruce stepped forward and shook Mike's hand.
"Hello."
At this point, Betty brought the iced cola to Mike and a glass of juice to Banner. Ever since he "carried" Hulk, Banner couldn't eat stimulating foods or drink alcoholic beverages.
During his escape, Banner was once forced to drink a glass of wine. When he woke up, the surroundings were in ruins, and then the Military's pursuit followed.
Banner looked Mike up and down. He was a young man, dressed in a T-shirt set and sneakers, looking like a college student or a young person who had just started working, except for his extremely sunny and handsome appearance.
"Thank you," Banner said.
"What?"
"I mean, thank you for stopping Hulk."
"Oh," Mike said, "I heard Fury say you wanted to see me. It's not just to thank me in person, is it?"
"Thanks are one aspect." Banner suddenly fell silent. Mike didn't rush him, sipping his cola.
After about a minute, Banner asked, "You defeated Hulk, right?"
Mike nodded.
Seeing that Betty was not nearby, Banner said in a low voice, "I don't know when Hulk will go berserk, or if this cell can hold him. If he escapes from here, I'm wondering if I could ask you to kill Hulk directly."
Mike said, "Hulk and you are one. If Hulk dies, you'll die too, won't you?"
"I know," Banner said suddenly, painfully, "I don't want Hulk to harm innocents again. If he accidentally harms Betty, I'll never be able to forgive myself."
Oh, another good person.
"Alright!" Mike nodded decisively, "However, I'm a mercenary; I don't do things for free."
"Huh?"
"I mean, you have to pay." Mike said seriously, "But before discussing the commission, I think I should say a few words."
"I think your attitude towards Hulk is problematic. You've prejudged him as a monster, so he will become a monster. Have you tried communicating? Why control Hulk instead of cooperating? Yesterday, you even used Hulk to distract the Military."
"Of course, I'm just saying. Think about it, then we can discuss the commission. There's no rush anyway."
No soul energy or fate energy emanated from Banner, so Mike guessed that although Banner had tried to end his life several times and was stopped by Hulk, deep down, he still wished to live.
In Mike's view, Hulk actually had no human concept of good and evil; he was like an irritable, powerful, yet naive child wielding a weapon.
Hmm, a monstrous green child.
Banner fell into deep thought.
Mike returned to the top floor. After spouting some nonsense, his thoughts became much clearer, and he could play another round.
Mike warned Stark, "Don't go to the other side and snipe me, and don't come to my side and mess with me. Do you believe I'll flip out?"
Finally, they had a pleasant game.
Just then, his phone rang. Old Earl called from a landline.
"Three people came to the supermarket looking for you," Old Earl whispered, "I think they're strange."
"Did you ask them who they were?"
"I did. One of them, in broad daylight, was wearing sunglasses and called himself 'Blade.' Heh, do you think I'm stupid? What normal person would give themselves a name like that?"
"Uh, well, they're acquaintances."
"Do they need tea?"
"I think you can offer them a cup of blood."
Old Earl: "???"
