Chapter 109 - 109

Banner's eyes were resolute as he tore open the bag and gulped down his own blood.

"Haaah!"

After only a few sips, Banner's eyes instantly turned green, his expression became savage, and a Beast-like roar erupted from his throat.

Then, his skeleton enlarged, his muscles bulged, and his skin turned green.

In just a few seconds, the man, who was 1.75 meters tall and weighed less than 120 pounds, swelled into the Hulk, nearly 2.3 meters tall and weighing over a thousand pounds.

Undoubtedly, the transformation process was extremely painful.

Mike and Hulk's eyes met.

Hulk grabbed the marble tabletop and, without a word, flung it towards Mike. Mike ducked to dodge, and a large section of the things behind him were smashed.

Hulk didn't continue to attack Mike, but instead looked down at Betty, his eyes softening considerably.

"Hulk!"

Hulk suddenly pounded his chest, as if threatening Mike not to lay a hand on Betty. As for Dr. Stern, who was that?

At this moment, the sniper across the way fired again, and a tranquilizer dart accurately hit Hulk's back, then bounced off his skin.

Was it just an itch?

Hulk roared, directly smashing through the wall and leaping down from the building. Outside, gunshots immediately erupted, and the soldiers who had originally surrounded the laboratory upstairs indeed turned their direction and chased after Hulk.

"Did Banner's thoughts influence Hulk, or is Hulk smarter than he looks?" Mike marveled, saying to Betty, "His feint worked. You two hurry and leave here."

Betty and Dr. Stern exchanged glances, then hurried downstairs.

"It can't be such a coincidence." Mike looked in the direction Hulk had left, which was exactly where Stark had parked.

Stark was relaxing in his car when he saw a huge figure running towards it.

An average person looking at buildings wouldn't think 2 or 3 meters was very tall, and a twenty-meter building would be nothing special.

But when 1.85-meter Stark saw the 2.29-meter Hulk thundering towards him, he felt a huge sense of oppression.

"Is 2.3 meters that imposing?" Stark thought of those basketball players.

He had seen people close to 2.2 meters.

But their imposing presence, compared to Hulk, was as harmless as a baby.

Thinking about it carefully, no matter what kind of athlete, did they have such exaggerated limbs and muscles? Even bodybuilders weren't this outrageous.

Before he could think much more, Hulk was closing in… Stark shouted: "Natasha!"

Black Widow was still in the car, how could he… Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Black Widow and the Agent driving had already gotten out of the car at some point and hidden by the roadside.

"…" Stark instinctively raised his hand and fired a palm repulsor blast.

Boom!

The repulsor blast hit Hulk.

Or rather, the word "dodge" simply didn't exist in Hulk's head.

"Roar! Hulk!!!"

The repulsor blast didn't leave a scratch on Hulk, but it enraged the big guy. He casually tore off a car door from a nearby vehicle and slapped it onto Stark like a fly swatter.

Whoosh!

Iron Man flew out, flying over ten meters and crashing into a store window by the roadside.

"Tony, are you alright?" Black Widow's voice was full of concern.

"I'm fine, not dead." Stark got up, brushed off the glass shards, and leaned against the wall, "If you could have warned me to dodge the green big guy earlier, your concern would seem a bit more sincere."

Black Widow: "Sorry, I just didn't think you were completely useless…"

Completely useless!

Men fear nothing more than being told they are useless.

There might not be substantial harm, but the insult is extremely strong.

Stark, who had originally intended to play dead, suddenly stood up, "Jarvis, check the damage."

"I'm afraid." Jarvis's voice was "heavy," "Sir, you've lost a bit of paint."

Stark: "…, Jarvis, your boss is about to get angry, is it really good for you to be so clever?"

Jarvis: "Apologies, based on analysis, I personally believe you should calm down."

After throwing Stark out, Hulk was not appeased. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got, and he directly smashed Stark's van.

He watched as the bulletproof, explosion-proof van was first flattened by Hulk, then torn in half down the middle.

Stark swallowed, "Jarvis, trust me, I am very calm right now."

If he didn't want tomorrow's headline to be "Hulk Tears Iron Man Apart," Stark had to be calm.

Stark said to Fury, "Fury, just ahead is 121st Street, and a turn will take you to Broadway Street. It's rush hour now, we can't let the green big guy run wild on the streets. It's okay if I'm exposed, right?"

Once in a crowded area, regardless of whether Hulk intentionally caused destruction, as long as he rushed onto the street and caused panic, it would be immense damage. Don't think that U.S. citizens are so noble; the indirect damage caused by chaos and looting is often greater than the direct damage caused by the instigator.

"No problem. Do as you see fit." Fury said, a slight smile playing on his lips.

On one hand, he hadn't misjudged Stark; this guy had all sorts of personality flaws, but he was indeed superhero material.

On the other hand, Stark was meant to be exposed. General Ross couldn't do anything to him.

"Alright. Natasha, you guys stay far away." Stark said.

"Aren't we far enough?" Black Widow, who was already a street away, said.

Stark: "Uh… alright, Jarvis, help me monitor the surroundings. Also, play some exciting music, your boss is about to put on a show."

With that, he walked out of the display window.

"Hey, green big guy, your daddy's here. What kind of skill is smashing cars?"

"Uh… if you're so capable, don't throw cars!"

"Pulling down streetlights isn't allowed either!"

"Damn it!"

Stark admitted that he had enraged Hulk. This big guy threw whatever he could get his hands on! Repulsor blasts and impact blasts couldn't do anything to Hulk, so Stark could only run.

Fortunately, he was quite agile and could fly, so even though he was chased ragged, he himself remained unharmed.

Stark wondered where Mike had gone and why Ross's subordinates were so slow.

Mike was about to leave when he saw Betty and Dr. Stern, who had left, returning with their hands raised.

Pointing a gun at them was Colonel Bronski. The other soldiers had gone to pursue Hulk, but Bronski had unexpectedly not left.

Bronski held his gun, looking past Betty and Dr. Stern at the strange mask man, feeling a subtle pressure.

Mike thought Bronski should have been the most active in pursuing Hulk, so it seemed it wasn't true love after all.

"Don't move, lie on the ground, hands on your head." Bronski barked, "Otherwise, I'll shoot."

"Hmm, shoot." Mike said.

Bronski froze.

Mike continued, "She's your direct superior's daughter. You're threatening me with her, are you sick? As for this one…"

"Samuel Stern." Stern quickly introduced himself.

"See, I don't even know his name."

"You're right, it was my mistake to threaten you with them." Bronski aimed his gun at Mike, "Thanks for the reminder, this is more direct, right? I'll say it again, slowly lie on the ground, hands on your head!"

"No." Mike flatly refused.

"Then die." Bronski was also a ruthless man and immediately pulled the trigger.
