Ficool

Chapter 52 - 52

If he'd run for mayor earlier, or just shown his face more often, I wouldn't have to go through all this trouble," Mike grumbled inwardly.

That's right! On the surface, Kingpin was a law-abiding entrepreneur, keen on charity, and in the future… if the future didn't change, he would even successfully be elected as New York City's mayor.

Legally, Kingpin had no criminal record whatsoever. Even if the files on him filled several rooms.

Kingpin represented the rules of both the underworld and the legitimate world, which is why… Spider-Man, Daredevil, Punisher, Fantastic Four, and X-Men couldn't do anything to him.

This was a sad story.

For heroes like Daredevil and Spider-Man, after all their efforts to capture Kingpin, his team of lawyers would step in, and he wouldn't even need to spend a night in the police station. Even if he went to prison, Kingpin would have everything he wanted, continuing to remotely control his criminal empire, with prison feeling more like a vacation.

As for Punisher, he did want to take Kingpin down with a single shot, but before he could even act, both the underworld and the legitimate world, including superheroes, would jump out to stop him. Given this, how could the already disadvantaged Punisher ever deal with Kingpin?

"It's actually raining, how unlucky."

Finding Amick wasn't difficult; this guy was arrogant and had a skyscraper in Queens as his Base.

Mike parked his car a block away, not expecting a light drizzle to start.

"Uh…"

Mike rubbed the back of his head; it seemed something had come up. In front of the building was a little loli, wearing a white shirt, a plaid skirt, with golden twin pigtails, pulling a small trolley case. It was a scene that invited crime, and it looked a bit familiar…

Noticing Mike's gaze, the twin-tailed girl glared at Mike fiercely, baring her teeth, as if to say, "What are you looking at, you pervert!"

Mike: "…"

Little Tiger?

A fierce yet adorable little tiger came to Mike's mind. In fact, Mike recognized this little loli.

Mindy, the violent loli…

Mike was just a little curious how Hit-Girl ended up in the Marvel Universe.

There wouldn't be Superman or Batman, would there? That would be too jarring.

"Idiot!"

Mindy looked angrily at Mike, who hadn't left and was instead spacing out.

With his cartoon T-shirt, cropped casual pants, and white sneakers, Mike's entire outfit probably cost no more than two hundred U.S. dollars. He looked like someone just passing by to avoid the rain.

Well, except for being a bit handsome.

"Hurry up and leave!" Mindy warned Mike again, "Something bad is going to happen here soon!"

"How bad?"

Uh… Mindy paused, usually people would ask "What kind of bad thing?"

"Very bad, very."

"Thanks."

"That's it?" Mindy blinked, "Aren't you going to leave?!"

"No," Mike said, "I happen to have something to do, right here."

Just then, the administrator on the first floor noticed the anomaly outside the door. He sent a gang member out to check the situation.

"You…"

Mindy was about to speak when she suddenly noticed a silenced pistol in Mike's hand.

Chirp.

The door had only opened a crack when the bullet hit him between the eyebrows. Mike took the opportunity to pull the door open, extended his hand, fired two more shots, killing the remaining three, including the administrator.

He stole my kill… Mindy was stunned. She frowned, looking at the front desk administrator. He was a middle-aged man with messy, graying hair, a pointy nose like a penguin, a bit comical.

But now he was dead, a single shot to the forehead, no longer comical.

Mindy was a typical violent loli, killing without batting an eye, often dismembering people with flying limbs.

But only targeting bad guys.

As if seeing through Mindy's thoughts, Mike pulled a shotgun from under the counter.

"This person isn't innocent. He's Amick's third-in-command. It's best to spend some time gathering intelligence before doing things, and his hand was never on the counter."

"Mindy…"

Mindy suddenly looked at Mike warily, ready to draw her gun at any moment: "How do you know my name?!"

"Big Daddy…" Mike fabricated a lie, "Big Daddy mentioned you."

At this time, Big Daddy should already be dead, killed by Frank Amick—no wonder the name sounded a bit familiar; he was the killer of Big Daddy. Anyway, you can't expect a dead person to confront him.

Knowing the plot itself was also a hidden golden finger.

"Big Daddy didn't mention you!" Mindy still didn't relax her guard.

"Not very familiar, I guess. I'm just a mercenary; I once took a commission from him, that's all."

"So… you're also here to avenge Big Daddy?"

"Big Daddy is dead?!" Mike feigned surprise, "Sorry, I didn't know about Big Daddy's passing. As I said before, I just happen to have something I wanted to ask Amick for help with."

Mindy believed about eighty percent of what Mike said. She looked at the four bodies in the lobby, "Is this how you ask for help?"

"This matter is a bit special, so it requires special methods." Mike ejected the magazine, replenishing the four expended bullets, "Shall we go up and talk to Amick?"

Saying that, Mike pressed the elevator button and gestured for Mindy to go first, a ladies-first gesture.

Since she was already here, regardless of whether Mike was friend or foe, she couldn't just leave. Even if it was a trap, she had to go through with it. After thinking for a moment, Mindy decided to go up and check the situation together.

If she left today and Amick wasn't dead, he would definitely strengthen his defenses later, making it even harder to kill him.

"There's surveillance in the elevator." Mike shot out the camera, "The enemy must be ambushing at the elevator entrance. We can use the emergency exit in the ceiling to hide on top of the elevator."

Mindy stepped on the trolley case, moved the ceiling exit cover, grabbed both sides, and with a powerful push, easily jumped up.

"What are you looking at, come up!" Mindy saw Mike's strange gaze.

Mike said: "When they see no one, the bad guys in movies just stand there like idiots. In reality… who knows? You can't expect your opponents to always be foolish; that's a dangerous thought. Plus, the space on top of the elevator is limited; one sweep with a submachine gun…"

"Ding!"

The elevator only opened a centimeter, and Mike began firing. By the time the elevator door opened two centimeters, Mike had already emptied his magazine.

The elevator door opened completely.

Outside lay a pile of bodies, haphazardly scattered. They held various powerful weapons but hadn't fired a single shot.

They died very miserably.

Mindy: "…"

Mike then smiled and finished his unfinished sentence, "So, striking first is a good way to deal with it."

Mindy simulated Mike's rapid fire from earlier, feeling a bit dejected: "Easy to say, can an ordinary person do that?"

The elevator exit faced a five-meter-long corridor with no obstructions, ending at a large door.

"Tsk tsk, this design… if you set up a machine gun at the entrance, wouldn't it be invincible?"

Click!

Mindy had a strong premonition of something bad; she seemed to hear the sound of a machine gun being cocked.

The moment Mike scrambled onto the top of the elevator, a storm of bullets raged through the corridor and the elevator.

"Jinx." Mike said awkwardly, "Don't worry, 'invincible' is an exaggeration. Machine guns don't have infinite bullets and their barrels can overheat easily. So…"

The moment the machine gun abruptly stopped, Mike dropped headfirst, his feet caught in the entrance.

The door had been shot to pieces by the machine gun. Mike clearly saw the gunman fumbling to reload the belt.

Whoosh!

One shot killed the machine gunner.

The crisis was temporarily averted.

"I was careless."

How to put it, if he had used the Possession Card, or Senbonzakura, would the opponent have had a chance to fight back?

Clearly not.

Encountering the violent loli, Mike felt playful.
