Chapter Five: The Visit II
IN THE LIVING ROOM
They all sat down at the dinning table close to the living room, ready to eat lunch.
Minori served them both Rice and Chicken stew, sushi rolls and some other foods she had cooked.
Moon sat eating quietly beside Mio while Minori sat across them watching them with a side eye.
Suddenly, Moon coughed and Mio hastingly gave him water to drink while patting his back at the same time.
Minori, a little bit surprised, chuckled at the scene of unknown love.
"You okay?" asked Mio who was a little worried
"Yh, I'm...I'm okay. Thanks," he replied
"You need to be careful while eating, why stuff your face with food?" Mio complained
"You got me worried there for a second,"
"Why?" Minoriasked teasingly
"Well.....h-he's got to be careful. S-s-s-stuffs like that are dangerous,"
She (Minori) chuckled at the words and they continued eating. In less than ten Minutes, they were all done and Moon was ready to teach Mio math.
"Thanks for the meal.....Minori. Now we have full bellies to be able to digest math into our brains. Isn't that right Mio?"
"What? Math? Now? Come on, let's start tomorrow, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase?" she begged armies folded and ready to kneel with eyes similar to that of a pitiful puppy
"No, come on. Let's go," he said dragging her up the stairs.
"I'll bring in hot chocolate for you later Mio, okay? Moon, do you want one too?" asked Minori
"It would be a pleasure," he replied still dragging Mio up the stairs
After they were gone, Minori stood there smiling as if they were still there.
"Those two, even if they just met today, it looks like they had already known each other ages ago. They don't even know they love each other. Well, it's either they develop it on their own or...…I help them,"
In Mio's Room
The two sat down by the study table studying math together—at least, he was teaching her math.
Problems that seemed easy, he solved it well and fast.
He then gave her questions to answer, ten questions. She failed only two but was still given the punishment of no phone fr two days by Moon.
"Come on, I only failed two. Normally I would have failed six but it was only two I failed,"
"If you want to be good in Math, you must get all correct. Thrive to get all questions correct and then you can be like me, a math genius," Moon replied
She grumbled for a while till Minori came in with Hot chocolate that visibly had smokes coming out of it with chocolate biscuits on the side.
"I hope I'm not bothering you two?"
"Oh no, Thanks Minori, you are so kind," Moon complimented which made Minori blush a little.
"Uh….no problem, you know what? I like you already and so will Mio,"
"Auntieeeeeee!" Mio yelled
"Don't pay attention to her, she's usually shy, she'll come around soon," Minori added not giving heed to Mio
"Yh, I noticed. She brought a math book to the basketball court but was shy to ask me to be her teacher. She's really really shy," Moon teased
Mio yelled at the top of her voice expecting them to listen but they didn't. Minori just left them there to banter and grumble while she went to make dinner.
The Night passed so fast, dinner was prepared, they all ate and went to bed.
In the Midnight
Mio woke up expecting Moon to still be asleep on the long couch he had slept on but he was not there. She checked the whole room only to find him at the balcony of the apartment watching the stars.
"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to sleep? It's already Two AM in the Morning,"
"Oh nothing, I was just Stargazing, remembering my childhood," Moon replied
"If I may ask,"
"Yes?,"
"Can you tell me.... a little about yourself? I just wanna know…..since we'll be...friends,"
"Alright," Moon replied her
"I'll start with my real name,"
"Real name?" Mio asked a little confused
"Yh, I wasn't always the cool Moon you guys know now. My real name is Mamoru Kawasaki. I was the joke of the entire school. I was fat, very far that when I walked, the very ground shook, anytime I fell, the earth would trembling tremendously. Because of that, I was made fun of...alot. Rika....made my life a living hell until one day when she totally outdid it,"
"What did she do?" asked Mio
He hesitated for a while, and then he spoke;
"On a shameful day like usual, after all the insults and shame; she made me trip down the stairs on purpose making all my clothes to tear in pieces due to the impact of the falling and my weight. I even confessed my feelings to her before the incident but...….she turned it into an Insult to pour on me endlessly. If not for Shinji, I don't know what would have happened to me. I'll never forgive her, ever,"
Mio watched, unable to say anything. She placed a hand on his back patting him softly.
"But still, you did well, didn't you?"
"Yeah but what's the use? My mum is in the hospital for coma because my dad left her for another woman,"
His eyes grew watery, soon his expressions dissolved from a cool guy expression to an infant like expression. Tears dropped down his face like fat pearls wetting his hands.
Mio, not knowing what to say still, hugged him. His eyes widened at this act. He wanted to let go of her but his hands didn't move. They didn't remove her from him, instead, they held her closer to him.
It was something he had never experienced in his life...….A HUG.
His heart warmed up, the tears drew faster till he couldn't take it anymore. Mio also cried too not because of the hug but because of the way he was in sorrow.
"I'm sorry I couldn't act tough, I wanted to look like a cool guy but...….I couldn't," Moon apologized still holding her in his arms.
"You don't need to, I don't need a friend who acts cool just to cover his sorrow, I need a friend who's always ready to share his pain and feelings with anyone who he cosiders to be his friend,"
They both separated but their hearts seemed to be closer still.
"Thank you," he muttered
"For what?"
"For being there when I needed someone to trust, Thank you,"
"You don't need to say that, what are friends for? We are…..friends, aren't we?" she asked glancing at Moon expecting an answer
"....of course we are. You don't seem to be like the others. You are...…kind,"
She looked at him and then his expressions changed. He knocked her on the head
"Ow! Why did you do that?" she asked clearly feeling the pain.
"You made me cry, that's why,"
"But I comforted you,"
"By the way, where.....are your parents?" He asked
"They live abroad, I was sent here to live with my aunt, she's my dad's younger sister, she's already Twenty Six but still won't agree to get married until she finds her true love,"
"I hope she does," Moon commented
"She already did...you, she found you," Mio teased
"What? Get over here, I'll teach you a lesson,"
Moon chased Mio all around the room just to teach her a lesson but it all ended with fatigue. They both layed down to sleep with Moon threatening to give Mio tough questions next time and Mio begging for much easier questions.
