The lab exploded into chaos. Peter B. Parker ducked under the swinging hydraulic tentacles of Doc Ock, grunting as Miles yanked him out of the way by the arm.
"Note to self, never fight a scientist with spare arms." Peter panted.
"Really? That's the note?" Miles yelped as the tentacles smashed through a desk beside him.
They scrambled down a hallway, vaulting past startled lab techs. At the end of the corridor, they brushed past a blonde intern with black rimmed glasses balancing a clipboard. She glanced at them, eyes narrowing under her fringe. Neither Peter nor Miles noticed as they barreled past.
The "intern" was Gwen Stacy.
Alchemax Cafeteria
They burst into the cafeteria where rows of scientists sat eating sandwiches and tapping on tablets. Peter straightened his costume and tried to walk casually, whistling off-key. On the way past a counter he swiped a bagel.
A scientist glanced up. His eyes went wide. " It's Spiderman! He stole a bagel, get him!!!!"
Suddenly, every scientist whipped out sleek laser guns from their lab coats.
"Oh come on!" Peter groaned as the room erupted with gunfire.
Miles ducked behind a table. "The scientists have guns? In the cafeteria?"
"Yeah. Science budget." Peter muttered. He ripped one of his web-shooters off his wrist and tossed it at Miles. "Here. Try not to shoot your own face."
Miles fumbled, nearly dropping it, then clipped it on. "Uh… how do you—"
"Just squeeze and pray!"
They sprinted through the cafeteria. Miles tried to swing and smacked face-first into a wall, groaning. "Not… what I meant to do."
"Ten out of ten for form, kid!!!" Peter quipped, yanking him free.
Behind them, Doc Ock crashed through the wall, her tentacles ripping tables apart as she pursued.
"Peter! She's gaining!" Miles panicked, firing another web. This time it stuck, and he swung with a wobbling arc across the room. He whooped. "Yes! I did it!"
"Finally!"
For a brief moment they swung across the forest and it seemed as if this little operation just might be successful.
The Woods
Branches whipped past and for a brief moment it seemed they lost the tentacled nutcase. " See, I told you we could do it." Quipped Peter B. Suddenly Doc Ock's tentacles slammed down from the sides. One snatched the CPU tower from Peter's hands, wrenching it free. The impact knocked both Peter and Miles off-balance, sending them plummeting toward the trees outside. Just before they hit the ground, a blur of white and black swooped in. An agile figure wove through the branches like a dancer, spinning webs that caught them mid-fall.
Peter B. blinked. "Okay. Did we just get saved by a ballerina?"
Doc Ock crashed through the trees, her tentacles lashing wildly. The black and white figure moved fast, weaving and firing webs in precise arcs. In seconds, she had two of the tentacles pinned against thick trunks. She flipped gracefully, catching another in mid-swing and binding it tight. For the coup de grâce, a flying kick on Doc Ock's face seemingly knocking her out.
Miles gasped. "She's… amazing."
Their rescuer swung to the ground and struck a graceful pose, the CPU tower tucked under one arm. Her hood dropped back to reveal short blonde hair and sharp eyes.
She removed her mask, showing her face. " Hey guys, how's it hanging?"
Miles' jaw dropped. "Wait… Gwanda? Like… from school Gwanda?"
" It's Gwen actually. I'm from another dimension. I mean another-another dimension."
Intro
"My name is Gwen Stacy. I was bitten by a radioactive spider and for the last two years I've been the one and only Spider-Woman. You know the rest. I joined a band, saved my dad but couldn't save my best friend, Peter Parker. So now, I save everyone else. I don't do friends anymore, just to avoid distractions. Then one day, something weird happened like really weird. I was sucked into a portal and was blasted off to next week, literally. My spider sense told me to go to Visions Academy and that's where I met you."
" I like your haircut." Compliments Miles nervously.
" You don't get to like my haircut." Says Gwen. Showing that she's still angry about the hallway fiasco.
She didn't answer, turning instead to help Peter B. back on his feet. " Come on, we need to go. You two almost made a mess of things."
Peter B. wheezed. "Almost? Kid, we're professionals."
But then a tentacle freed itself and snapped forward. Its spinning saw whirred as it came straight for Gwen's back.
"Behind you!" Peter B. shouted.
Before Gwen could turn, a white metallic figure descended from above. Clad in gleaming spider armor, landed with a thundering impact. The glowing blue plasma blades of her suit's magenta appendages hissed to life and with fluid strikes she slashed through Doc Ock's tentacle. Sparks showered the forest floor.
Doc Ock shrieked, tumbling back into the wreckage of her own limbs.
Gwen, Miles and Peter B. froze, stunned by the armored silhouette standing over them.
Miles whispered, wide-eyed. "Okay… who the heck is that?"
