Chapter 26 - 26. Armor of Trust.

The Parker basement buzzed faintly with the sound of the fabricator. Gwen's sneakers scuffed against the floor as she followed Peter, blindfold in place.

"Peter, if you're making me walk into a wall, I'm punching you." Gwen warned.

"Relax, girlfriend." Peter said, guiding her with a hand at the small of her back. His voice held a tightness she rarely heard in him. "This isn't a prank. It's something I wanted to give you for a long time."

A hydraulic hiss filled the room. Peter tugged the blindfold free.

Gwen's breath caught.

A pod in the center of the basement unfolded like a metallic flower. Inside, gleaming under soft light, was the suit.

Her suit.

The Suit

The armor looked like it had been dreamed up by some futuristic sculptor—sleek white plates trimmed with teal-blue, flowing seamlessly with the magenta webbed mesh beneath. The design hugged a form meant for agile and lethal grace, not brute force. Her hood design from her costume was integrated into the armour, both stylish and functional, a nod to who she was.

And then came the appendages. Four magenta limbs unfurled from the back, each ending in a plasma-edged blade that glowed cyan blue. They seemed alive, eager.

Her throat tightened. "Peter… what did you do?"

Peter rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly bashful. "Built it. For you. I wanted… well, I wanted to keep you safe." His voice softened. "It's not just armor, Gwen. It's a promise."

She stepped forward, fingertips brushing the plating. It was warm to the touch, humming faintly with power.

"What does it do?" She whispered.

That brought the grin back. Peter spread his hands, slipping into his comfort zone: science.

"Internal web-fluid synthesizer. No need to make web fluid and reload every day, just load the raw materials and you're good for an entire month or more depending on the web usage rate. Multiple firing modes: standard, scattershot, tensile cable and sticky foam. Adaptive HUD in the mask, full threat detection suite. Plasma appendages? Strong enough to lift a car, fine enough to thread a needle while the plasma blades at the end can cut through virtually almost anything. Suit compresses into the shape of a school bag for easy carry and you can also carry stuff in the bag. As for what happens to your stuff when you need to suit up? Puts your stuff in a kevlar bag with a combination lock and a tracker."

Her lips parted, awe and affection mingling.

Peter pressed a control on his wrist.

The armor shimmered. Translucent energy in a honeycomb pattern flared across it like a living veil. The air itself vibrated.

"Regenerative energy shielding." Peter said, his voice low. "It absorbs impact, disperses intense, concentrated heat, mitigates concussive force. The system cycles automatically. Damage bleeds off and the shield regenerates after a few seconds if drained. Needs six of Tony's Baddasium cores to run at peak efficiency. But when it's active…" He met her eyes. "…nothing touches you."

Her vision blurred. She didn't move for a long moment, then whispered: "You built this for me…"

He shrugged, though his voice cracked. "Well, you've got this habit of running straight into death traps. Someone's gotta armor you up. And—" He hesitated, then met her gaze. "I trust you. With this. With me."

The words broke her. She closed the distance, hugging him hard, pressing her cheek to his firm chest. "You absolute idiot." She whispered. "You don't get to hide how much you care. Not from me."

Peter hugged her back, awkward but fierce. "Guess my secret's out then."

Then Peter showed Gwen the one he made for himself but it was evident that Peter's one is meant for brute forcing and taking damage while also maintaining high mobility and it could integrate with the Sandevistan to reach the same level of inhuman speed.

Gwen's First Flight

The night sky split open as Gwen launched herself from the rooftop. The suit hugged her body perfectly, the inner skin layer and hydrostatic gel keeping her cool, no sweat, no strain—just effortless motion.

Her laughter rang through the dark as she swung. The HUD painted her path with data overlays and the appendages caught her weight mid-air, letting her pivot with predatory grace.

"Web scattershot." She selected with her hud.

The shooters obeyed, blasting an entire rooftop in sticky filaments. She landed in a crouch, shielding shimmering into existence as she let herself drop from three stories just to test it. The impact dispersed harmlessly.

"Regenerating…" the HUD chimed. Energy pulsed back to full in seconds.

She tore back her hood, eyes glowing with exhilaration. "Peter, this is insane!" She shouted down.

Peter stood below, both her suit's pod and his own compressed into school bags slung across his shoulders. He hauled them effortlessly, one in each hand, his stance casual despite their dense weight. "Insane's kind of my brand." He called back, smirking. "You like it?"

"I feel like a goddess!" Gwen shouted back, her grin wild.

Peter grinned up at her. "Perfect. That was the point."

The Stark Negotiation

The next morning, Tony Stark stood in the Parker living room, glass of scotch in hand, eyebrows raised.

"So. Energy shielding. Regenerative and honeycomb pattern. Six Baddasium cores or your fusion pack to run at peak efficiency. Kid, you realize you just reinvented everything DARPA's been crying themselves to sleep over for decades?"

Peter crossed his arms. " Yeah and not for sale. Also how did you learn about about that? I left no loose ties."

Tony swirled his drink. "Everything's for sale. Especially when it can turn me from a squishy billionaire to a walking tank and I was patrolling over the area you were testing Gwen's suit and I noticed her three story jump. You need resources. I've got resources. You hand over the shielding tech and in exchange, I build you a lab so good you'll think you died and respawned in R&D heaven. Full suppliers, no limits."

Peter's eyes narrowed. "Shielding's too dangerous in the wrong hands and your data terminals are not encrypted enough. Also, It's for her." He jerked his thumb at Gwen, sitting smugly on the couch in casual clothes, arms folded.

Tony smirked. "Cute. But be real if you don't let me have it, SHIELD will. Hammer will try to steal it. Oscorp will definitely try to reverse-engineer it. Better in my hands than theirs, don't you think?"

Peter hesitated. The logic stung. Finally, he sighed and extended a hand. "Fine. You get the shielding tech. But only under one condition."

Tony arched a brow. "Shoot."

"I don't work for you. I work with you. I keep my independence. You give me the lab, the suppliers, everything I need and I share what I want, when I want. No leash and you get better encryption. SHIELD's in your servers."

Tony's grin was slow and sharp. "Kid, that's the best business deal I've heard all week." They shook hands.

Gwen leaned over to Pepper, who had been quietly sipping tea. "Do they know they sound like two nerds fighting over trading cards?"

Pepper smiled. "Oh, they know. They just don't care."

That evening, after Tony and Pepper left, the house was quiet again.

Peter sat on his bed, staring at the two school-bag-sized pods on his desk. Gwen slipped in, hood down, her expression soft.

"You realize," Gwen said, sitting beside him, "that this isn't just a suit, right?"

Peter tilted his head. "Oh?"

"It's trust. It's love, disguised as tech." She leaned her head against his shoulder. "And I don't care how many billionaires or government agencies want a piece of it—it's ours."

Peter let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding, the tightness in his chest easing. He put an arm around her, pulling her close.

"Yeah." He said softly. "Ours." Then he gave her a small peck on the lips which then turned into a full kiss.

And for that night, the world outside—its dangers, its greed, its ambition—could wait.

Because in that room, it was just Peter and Gwen. Two kids in love, holding onto the future they were building together.
