Monica probably never imagined that one day Grant would catch her like this. For years, he had shown no interest in her private life. Whether that was because he didn't love her or because he was too arrogant to care, I couldn't say. In his mind, a woman who worshipped him so obediently would never dare to betray him.
With Mom, it was different. If Lena changed her hairstyle or wore a new dress, Grant would immediately suspect she did it for Nicholas. But Monica could walk around half–naked, and he wouldn't even blink.
Now that he knew she had been secretly meeting other men, his face was cold, but he didn't explode. I could tell his anger wasn't really about her cheating. It was about being fooled about her using his money to support another man while plotting to take him down.
As everything unfolded on the screen in front of us, I found myself eating popcorn, watching Monica panic. I almost felt like I was watching a badly written drama.
