The room was silent after Selene revealed the truth of Lyra's Bloodline Seal, the prophecy, and Adrian's part in it. Silence… but not peaceful. Heavy. Dense. Thick like night fog.
Lyra's breathing was too quick.
Adrian's eyes were too wide.
Selene's hands trembled, just slightly, but I saw it. Because I have always seen her.
But it was their eyes on me that made my throat tighten.
