Selene's POV
Warmth brushed against my skin before I even opened my eyes. A strange kind of warmth, not from Lucian's body beside me, but from the sun… soft, golden, and scented with the earth after rain. My lashes fluttered open, and the first thing I saw wasn't our chamber ceiling, nor the familiar shadows of the Moonfang Manor.
It was green. Endless green.
I sat up abruptly, my heart pounding as the soft grass caressed my bare thighs. I was in the middle of a forest clearing, lush, breathtaking, and strangely quiet. There was no sound of birds, no rustle of wind, yet everything shimmered with life. Dew sparkled like diamonds on broad emerald leaves. The air was sweet, almost intoxicating.
"Lucian?" I called out softly. No answer. Only the gentle hum of magic whispering through the trees.
