Chapter 4 - Agreement Under The Full Moon

Kaito—no, Midnight Kai—stopped in his tracks. Lunaris's hand, soft yet firm, pulled at his shoulder, forcing him to turn and face the Moon Goddess.

Lunaris's violet eyes gazed at him with an intensity different from before. There was something there—something deeper than mere interest in his mission.

"There's something I want to discuss with you," Lunaris said in a softer voice, almost like a whisper of the night.

Midnight Kai stared back without blinking. "Speak, Goddess Lunaris."

Lunaris smiled faintly. Her long, elegant fingers still touched Kaito's shoulder, and slowly moved to his chest—feeling the heartbeat now flowing with the moon's power.

"You... are perfect," she whispered.

"The aura you radiate, the symbol attached to you—this isn't just my power."

"This is a manifestation of your soul aligning with the moon itself. You were born for this, Kaito."

Midnight Kai didn't respond, but his gaze remained sharp. Lunaris took a breath, then stepped back slightly. Her expression shifted to something more serious.

"Before you begin your mission, there are things you must know. About their origins... the reincarnators."

"About why they're so dangerous. And about the disease infecting this world."

"Disease?" Midnight Kai frowned behind his mask.

Lunaris nodded. She moved her hand, and silver light formed a projection in the air—images of the world, humans, and strange symbols.

"The reincarnators," Lunaris began.

"are souls from another world brought to this world by greedy gods."

"They're given cheat powers—abilities that violate the laws of nature—under the pretext of 'saving' the world from threats."

The projection changed, showing figures glowing with false light.

"But what's really happening is..." Lunaris looked at Kaito with a sorrowful gaze.

"Those gods only want to entertain themselves."

"They watch the lives of reincarnators like stories to be read."

"They don't care about balance. They don't care about this world."

Midnight Kai clenched his fists. "So they're just... playthings?"

"Yes. And when those playthings are given unlimited power, without consequences, without punishment..." Lunaris stopped her projection.

"They become monsters."

She stepped even closer, this time the distance between them almost nonexistent.

"But there's something worse than that," Lunaris whispered.

"There's something even the gods don't realize. An ancient curse sleeping within this world's darkness. Its name is Noctis Libido—the Disease of Night's Sin."

"Noctis Libido?" Midnight Kai repeated.

Lunaris nodded. "This disease attacks those who possess cheat powers, especially reincarnators."

"It infects their souls when night falls, awakening the darkest desires and urges within them."

"Lust for power, for flesh, for destruction, for domination."

The light projection appeared again, this time showing figures shrouded in black-purple mist.

"This disease develops over time. The more often they use cheat powers for evil, the stronger the disease takes hold of them."

"Eventually, they can no longer distinguish between their true selves and the monsters created by Noctis Libido."

"They become slaves to their own sins."

Midnight Kai fell silent, absorbing all this information. "So... Aldric and people like him..."

"Yes," Lunaris interrupted.

"They're all infected. And every night, the disease makes them more brutal, more sadistic, more uncontrolled."

"That's why night is the most dangerous time—because that's when their sins reach their peak."

Lunaris placed her hand on Midnight Kai's cheek, forcing him to look directly into her eyes.

"And that's why you, Kaito, must become the cure for this disease."

"You are the balance. You are the punishment. You are the blade that will cut at the root of these sins."

Kaito felt a strange warmth from Lunaris's touch. Not warmth like the sun—but a cold warmth that was soothing, like moonlight on a winter night.

"But..." Lunaris lowered her hand slowly, tracing Kaito's jaw, then his neck.

"To truly become part of the night, to truly master the power I've given you... you must forge a Moon Pact with me."

"Moon Pact?" Midnight Kai asked.

Lunaris smiled—a smile different from before. There was a seductive nuance there, something that made the air around them feel heavier.

"An ancient ritual," she explained in a lower, more sensual voice.

"A ritual that will bind your soul with mine. That will make your power not just come from the moon... but become part of the moon itself."

She stepped back, then spread her arms. The space around them began to change. The silver light faded, replaced by a gentle darkness.

The floor beneath them transformed into a surface of still water, reflecting the moonlight from above. And in the center of this newly formed chamber... appeared a large bed with shimmering white silk sheets.

Above the bed floated a small full moon—real, glowing, beautiful. Midnight Kai observed the scene carefully.

"This is..."

"The Pact Chamber," Lunaris answered, walking slowly toward the bed.

Each of her steps created ripples across the water's surface. "This is where the ritual will take place. This is where you will truly become mine... and I will become yours."

She turned to face Kaito, standing right beside the bed. The moonlight from above illuminated her body, making her appear more graceful, more enchanting, more... dangerous.

"Kaito," she called in a voice almost like song.

"Are you ready for this?"

Midnight Kai paused for a moment. He knew that after this, there would be no turning back. But he also knew he had chosen his path from the beginning.

"Damn... I know her body is incredibly sexy, even surpassing my wife's," Kaito thought to himself.

"Well... consider this a release from all the suffering and trauma I endured back then."

"Besides... I feel like I want to take advantage of every opportunity that was never fulfilled in this second life."

"I'm ready."

Lunaris smiled with satisfaction. Then, slowly, she raised her hand to her shoulder. The light clothing wrapping her body began to fade—like mist blown by wind.

Her fingers touched the first tie at her shoulder. With a graceful and confident movement, she pulled it. The tie came loose, and part of her light garment began to fall.

"The Moon Pact," she whispered as she continued releasing tie after tie.

"Isn't just about power, Kaito. It's about trust. About unity. About giving all of yourself... and receiving all of me."

The light garment continued to descend, revealing pale white skin that glowed softly beneath the moonlight. There was no shame on Lunaris's face—only the confidence of a goddess who knew exactly what she was doing.

"In this ritual," she continued while releasing the last tie.

"You will feel every memory I possess. Every sorrow. Every loneliness."

"And I... will feel your vengeance. Your rage. Your desire for retribution."

The light garment finally fell completely, leaving Lunaris standing before Kaito with undeniable grace.

Her body was perfect—not in an ordinary human way, but in a way only a goddess could possess. Every curve, every line, was a living work of art.

She stepped closer, gazing at Midnight Kai with eyes full of complex emotions.

"This is your chance to back out, Kaito," she whispered.

"After this, you'll never be able to escape the night. Never be able to escape from me."

Midnight Kai slowly removed his mask. Kaito's true face was revealed—handsome in a dark way, with a scar on his left cheek, and silver eyes blazing with determination.

"I never intended to back out."

Lunaris smiled—a genuine smile she rarely showed.

"Then..." She extended her hand.

"Let us begin this pact."

Kaito grasped her hand. And at that moment, the moonlight from above exploded, enveloping them both in a cold warmth that united their souls, power, and destiny forever.

The night of the pact had begun. And the world... would soon feel the consequences.
