By the time Zaen got home, it was already near midnight. Strangely enough, Uncle Mack hadn't returned after dropping Aeron off.
"Where's Uncle?" Zaen asked the maid who opened the door.
"Master said an emergency came up at the firm, so he was headed there," the maid curtly replied. "Will there be anything else?"
Zaen shook his head and walked towards his room. Since Ann had told him she'd have Johann's word by the night regarding his 'sample' collection, he didn't want to waste any time and also ask her regarding the things he saw before.
He opened the door and saw a woman's silhouette on the bed. Zaen sighed and hit the light switch with his stick.
"How did you know the light was off?" Ann asked, looking over the sheets.
"I didn't," Zaen replied. "But normal people usually have the lights off at this time. What about you? Enjoying the bed?"
