Amy and I were currently cuddling in our room. It was a little hot in here but that's to be expected after the exercise we just did. Ever since we started being physical with each other we've been going at it like cats in heat. Not that I mind that much. Enjoying sex was a new thing for me. Rather than it jus being a relationship obligation I had to take care of like tuning a sports car.
Today was our last day of the cruise. The ship was already on its way back to earth. So we were doing what we've been doing since we got on the ship. Enjoying some alone time. Still thats not to say nothing interesting happened over the last few days. First of bender got himself a lady love. Which is weird for bender since he's almost always a man whore.
The only time i can remember bender actually staying with one woman for longer than a few days was the fembot from bendless love, but something was different with the countess, in the episode bender was more interested in the diamond bracelet but her bender couldn't care less about the bracelet, and im sure he doesnt know its fake.
Bender actually recently met, and impressed roca's father. He was originally not a fan of benders due to the lifestyle differences between the two, but he came to like bender for his fun loving personality and the joy he brought roca. He even started teaching Bender how to blend in more completely in robot high society, as apparently yes there is a difference. Robot high society is more or less what poor people in the 21st century assumed high society was like. With a few minor differences.
Humans with some rare exceptions, such as Mrs. Astor, have long since abandoned the whole high society living situation. It's really only practiced at exclusive events.
Since we had already packed up we decided to head off to the buffet and grab some food before we arrived back at earth. We had dined with the captain on our first night here but Brannigan, seeing he wasn't going to be able to get into Leela's pants with Tom there to act as the certified cock block, decided to focus his attention on finding other beautiful women to dine with him.
This wasn't really surprising at all. Brannigan in the show falls madly in love with Leela, but he always hits on other women when Leela rejects him. He seems to follow the motto "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." if you can even call what he feels for leela love. In my opinion it's more of an obsession.
Still the trip has been nice. Everyone has had time to relax and unwind from the hellish work pace i had inadvertently been putting them through, bender got the girl and made some decent connections, and the couple that came on the trip have had the time of their lives together without distractions getting in the way.

It was Monday three days after the cruise ended. We got back on Friday and took the weekend off. Now it was time to head back to work. Amy and I were taking the tube. I was currently vibrating. I was so excited to get there. The professor sent me a message last night. The crazy bastard had done it. He had figured out a way to bond dark matter to nerve tissue in artificial eezo nodes.
The professor was of course going to be the guinea pig for this run since I hadn't quite worked out all the kinks in technological eezo nodes yet. So it had a 1 in 500 chance of blowing up. Not horrible but not great either. I needed to wait until the technology was developed enough before I gave myself a much needed upgrade.
This was also super exciting because it gave humans more options. Not all soldiers felt comfortable cutting off body parts to load up on cyberware. This would be a good alternative. After all, we only had a month and a half before the omicronians came rolling up demanding an ancient tv show finale that they could have watched if they just sat on their fat ass and waited for the rerun.
I had figured out the biotic amp around the same time i built the implant that would allow a human to control their own nervous system. They're both pretty basic in what they allow you to do. The implant doesn't have an integrated vi yet as i havent built one for it. So it only allows basic abilities like push, pull, and charge. The biotic amp only boost biotic power by 15% decent but not good enough in the long run. Still it was a work in progress it would get better.
When we finally arrived I ran straight to the professor's lab. I had the cyberware canister holding the biotic implant in my hands. I wouldn't be the one installing the implant that was doctor cahills job.
When i arrived i saw the professor holding a small nanite injector in his hands. Preparing to inject them in the base of his spinal cord. He noticed me right away.
"Ah fry you're just in time. I was about to do the injection. Over a few minutes the nanites will form the artificial eezo nodes" the professor spoke trying to get the injection in the right place.
"How bout we have doctor cahill do the injection so you dont accidentally sever your brain stem and kill yourself?" i said with a much of a deadpan as i could. Seriously when it comes to science the professor is a mad man. He genuinely enjoyed doing risky elective surgery on himself. In another universe he took out his own brain.
"Oh pish posh i've done countless injections before this one is no different." the professor said still fiddling with the injector.
"Professor i will knock you out." I said with complete seriousness.
"Oh fine, ruin my fun." he said with a pout. What a man child.
We ended up walking to medical and we found doctor Cahil reading the latest cyber surgery medical books. That's something that had come out in the last few months, while my simulated surgeries were good enough to get the job done, the actual ripperdocs were putting me to shame, cutting down on the time needed to install cyberware, and heal from the installation with new surgery techniques.
Doctor Cahil looked up at us as we came in, spotted the injector and the cyberware container in my hands and instantly sighed.
"You want me to install a new implant or perform some crazy procedure dont you."
"Its for the newest launch in planet express's weapons division. We've figured out biotics. And we need you to inject the nanites, and install the implant that allows control of the nervous system. The professor will actually be the first to become biotic."
"At least I'm not doing another surgery on you. To be honest ive seen enough of your inside i feel like i owe you a drink and cab fare." the good doctor chuckled out.
Soon the professor was strapped into the ripper chair and was sedated. The doctor thought that there may be a risk of extreme pain with the nanites rewriting the professor's nervous system. Which makes sense.
"Alright so the infection needs to go in at the base of the brain stem?" cahil asked ot confirm, and i nodded moving over to get a good look at the injection site and pulling up my internal scanners to watch his vitals.
She pushed the injection into his brain stem and his body started seizing. I prepared to move to give the doctor space but she just shook her head.
"It's fine, this is pretty normal, his vital signs are stable." she reassured.
It took a few minutes for the professors to calm down.
"Now i need the video of the installation process for the new implant you designed."
"Oh the installation is actually the same as a neurolink." I said and she nodded. Moving over to grab her cyber surgery glove. She took the implant out of the container and in just a few swift motions the implant is installed, she brings over a cellular regenerator and soon the incision was healed. All in all the surgery was fast and efficient. That's to be expected. The future had some ridiculous medical tech and I only compounded it by creating a new branch of medicine.
While planet express didn't develop medical tech on its own, the invention of cyberware, and its commonplace use in today's society a lot of other companies made special gear to sell to planet express ripper docs.
There were even some companies who were trying their damndest to create cyberware and medical implants of their own. The only ones that were even close to achieving it were Nexgen, the company that makes the wrist mounted computer leela wears. They actually came out with something that I hadn't remembered from cyberpunk until seeing it. A Biomon. They called it the statblock but its purpose was the exact same, monitoring health and sending an alert to medical services should your health fail from damage, blood loss, heart attack, or stroke.
I ended up buying one and getting it installed. It took some effort to get it to link up to my neurolink but afterwards I contacted Nexgen and offered my modifications to the Biomon for a portion of the profits, they agreed and now I have a new source of income.
Still not many have created decent cyberware, and the EFDA rarely approves those who do because most of their cyberware carries the risk of cyberpsychosis. Still the research has been speeding up so we may have some competitors soon enough. Not that I'm worried. Planet express offers the highest grade cyberware, and has military contracts with exclusivity clauses. The other companies are still lagging behind us in both R&D and contracts.
Soon after I finish that thought the professor starts to wake up.
"Oh my, that does feel weird." the professor says, looking at his arms and flexing his muscles every few seconds.
"How do you feel?" doctor cahil asks, a bit concerned.
"Its like i have an entirely new limb, one that ive never used but know how to move perfectly." the professor said standing up.
"Thank you doctor cahil. Would you like to observe the tests?"
"Ill need to to ensure the safety and to write my report to the EFDA and Earth Security Council. We'll need the approval of both if we want to push forward with this as a military treatment for planet express to sell. And it's not like cybernetics where soldiers can be downgraded after they leave the military. This is something that will last for life."
"Ehh it will be fine. The military has been chomping at the bit for a biological alternative to cyberware for their ground troops. I need to actually put forth the effort to figure out the artificial eezo nodes for cyberware and it will probably take me a few months. And a lot of money." i sigh out.
"So let's go test my new biotics!" the professor said, sounding uncharacteristically eager, not that I blame him. I kind of wanted biotics of my own but most of my nervous system was metal. I could clone myself a new body but biotics weren't worth the loss of strength and versatility.
We all walked to the planet express gym and it took a few minutes to set up weighs of different sizes and shapes. I also set up a few training dummies so we could test the combat applications.
The first weight was about the size of a soda can but weighed about ten pounds.
"Alright professor were not testing the biotic amp this time so we're just going with your base biotic power. Now using a simple mnemonic try and lift the weight with just your biotic power. Don't use a pull or push." I said, guiding the professor through the test.
He reached out his arm and soon the weight started floating. He could control it relatively easily.
"Alright we're moving to 20 pounds." I said moving the weight into position.
This continued until we reached the weight of 500 pounds. Which was well beyond what most biotics in the mass effect universe could pull off. And that was just basic telekinesis with a simple mnemonic, not even an actual ability. His neural load was minimal yet he was putting out more force than specter biotics could.
"All right now we're going to try on a humanoid target. Try to use a pull and then a push. Then we'll finish with a charge." I said, moving the weights out of the way, then setting up the 2 training dummies in front of the professor.
First the professor looked confused trying to figure out how to use the preloaded biotic programs in his implant, but finally it clicked. With a toss of his hand a blackish blue blast of dark energy slammed into the dummy on the left and it started floating. Then the professor used a biotic push blasting the dummy far away and into the wall. The dummy was almost turned to dust instantly.
Next the professor's gaze locked onto the other dummy, he took a stance like he was about to break out into a run, then in a whirl of chaotic dark energy the professor disappeared and slammed into the other dummy. This time the dummy did turn into dust. The chaotic forces of dark energy shredding it down to the atomic level.
"Jesus okay maybe we might not need the biotic amp...but im still going to sell it. Earth's military just got a lot more bite, and planet express is about to become richer." I said with a smile.
