Chapter 35: The Birth of the Mountain God, Nyx's Ambition 1

Tartarus looked puzzled. "Last time I left, you told me to visit the sky. Now I'm here, why are you breaking me?"

"Could it be that Uranus, the Sky God, intends to initiate a war against the Abyss on behalf of Gaia, the Earth Mother?"

Tartarus's sudden question left Uranus somewhat unanswered.

In his mind, the sky and the abyss were inherently hostile.

But now, thinking about it, it was he who invited Tartarus, and why did he intervene?

He couldn't find the reason!

At this time, the Ocean God, Pontus, spoke up, "Brother Uranus, Uncle Tartarus has always been helping us and has done nothing to harm us."

"The Mother Goddess is giving birth to a new god, a younger brother or sister. We cannot afford to engage in a meaningless fight at this time."

"If you rashly interfere with the Mother Goddess again this time, I will not forgive you," said the Sky God, Uranus, coldly. He glanced at Tartarus before soaring high into the sky and disappearing.

Tartarus ignored his words. Now equally powerful as Uranus, he wasn't afraid of the other's attack.

"You disgusting sky! You don't even have the slightest respect for us. You're far worse than Pontus," said the Night Goddess, Nyx.

Having just come up from the ocean floor, this god had kindly addressed her as "Your Highness." Tartarus smiled and said, "Uranus is young, still immature. Pontus has a heart as vast as the ocean, so he's naturally no match for him."

"Thank you both for your compliments. I'm only doing what I should do," said Pontus, the god of the sea.

"What is age?" Nyx asked, looking at Tartarus.

Pontus, the god of the sea, also recognized this new term and looked at Tartarus in confusion.

Tartarus said, "It's a metaphor for time. Basically, the longer you live from birth to the present, the older you are. If the sky hasn't lived long since its birth, it's young."

"Right now, the sun and moon haven't risen yet, and there's no distinction between day and night. It's impossible to determine. I'll teach you the concept of time then."

"Is it the future sun and moon, and daylight? Will there be a time-specific age? As expected of one of the oldest gods, Uncle Tartarus, you know much we don't." Pontus, the god of the sea, marveled.

At this moment, Tartarus sensed it.

He looked toward the sky, where a scene similar to the birth of Pontus appeared.

Beyond the heavens, invisible essence and divine power pierced through the sky and descended toward the earth.

The divine authority and power bestowed upon the new god by Chaos had descended!

Having experienced this before, Uranus, the god of the sky, knew that these essences could not be intercepted or seized.

Tartarus naturally wouldn't take action.

Boom!

The invisible essence and divine power bestowed by Chaos descended upon the center of the earth.

Rumble! Rumble...

The entire earth shook violently.

Then, the flat earth and the rock surface began to shift.

Thousands, millions, tens of millions of bulges of earth and rock appeared.

Based on the distances in Tartarus's previous life, some of these bulges were over ten meters, some hundreds of meters, some thousands of meters, and even tens of thousands of meters!

Small hillsides, large hillsides... low mountains, high peaks, giant peaks...

The three gods floating above the ocean could easily see the tops of the low peaks.

The highest peaks, towering majestically, towered against the sky, a majestic aura.

Beyond the ordinary peaks, Tartarus also sensed the extremely high temperatures of some peaks.

The summits of those peaks were filled with crimson magma. Some of this magma flowed from the mountain passes, flowing through the mountain, sending flames along the way, shrouding the surrounding area in a fiery heat.

Some peaks were encased in ice, transforming into icebergs, keeping the surrounding temperature icy cold.

Tartarus knew that human fire originated from the gods.

But where the original fire of Chaos' world originated, he did not know.

Now, Tartarus saw fire appearing in Chaos.

"With the birth of fire in the world, the God of Fire has a chance to complete his godhood." Tartarus smiled.

As new gods continued to be born, the world of Chaos began to grow toward perfection.

Tartarus's purpose for this visit was to see what new creations had been born from the God of Mountains on the Earth's Bulge.

Luckily, he saw what he sought.

"Is this a mountain?" Night Goddess Nyx recalled Tartarus's words about the new gods that would appear in the future.

"Yes, they've been born. Let's go back!" Tartarus said.

"You won't say hello?" Night Goddess Nyx asked.

Tartarus smiled: "Later!"

With that, he plummeted into the ocean.

Nyx was about to ask why, but she didn't.

The God of Mountains had already been born. The divine consciousness of the earth and sky swept over, locking onto her and Tartarus.

"Goodbye, Pontos."

"Goodbye, Uncle Tartarus and His Highness Nyx."

Night enveloped Tartarus and Nyx, and they fell into the ocean, rapidly descending...

As they moved, Nyx, the goddess of night, began to ponder some questions.

"Are the Sky God and Earth Mother afraid of what Tartarus might do? Perhaps! He's Earth's third child, and a powerful deity."

"The growing strength of the Earth side isn't good for us. Erebus is right. Gods are immortal, but if they're injured and weakened, if they continue to be injured, they continue to weaken."

"Brother Tartarus is too kind. Even if Gaia doesn't do anything in the future, what about the Sky God, or even the gods of the future?"

"As a goddess, Gaia can give birth to gods alone, and so can I. If I have enough children, I won't fear the Earth side anymore. I need to find a way."

Tartarus wasn't being kind, of course. He knew the future battlefield would be on Earth. He didn't even need to take any initiative; the fighting among the children of the Earth Goddess would be maddening, with him, the Mother Goddess, even the most frenzied.

If he led the fight, temporarily uniting the Earth family against the outsiders amidst their internal strife, he would be losing more than he gained.

Returning to the abyss, Tartarus continued to devour and fuse the ocean waters.

In the endless night...

Nyx, the goddess of night, cried out, "Eros, god of love and lust, my brother, I call to you. Do you hear me?"

As she called, she imagined the joyful and beautiful scenes of the union of the Night and the Abyss, and her love grew stronger.

Where love is, Eros is drawn to it.

She had done this several times before.

A pink divine light flickered, and the handsome Eros, god of love and lust, appeared in the darkness.

Eros said, "I hear your call, Her Majesty Nyx, the Goddess of Night. What can I do for you?"

Nyx said directly, "I want to know how to create a new god. Do you know the method?"
