Chapter 6: The Enigmatic God of the Abyss Tricking the Siblings 2
"In the darkness?" Tartarus asked, bewildered. "Did I say darkness? My memory is fuzzy again. I just remember mentioning the sky."
Nyx frowned slightly, her beautiful eyes fixed on the abyssal land, her voice becoming even softer and more delicate.
"Although you haven't become a deity, Brother Tartarus, you would surely be a handsome god if you were. Why is your memory so confused?"
"Finally, you've taken the bait." Tartarus was delighted. This was exactly the effect he'd been looking for.
To Nyx and Erebus, there was a difference between speaking proactively and passively.
Nyx, the goddess of night, was particularly resourceful and possessed a thirst for knowledge. She also knew how to praise herself to elicit the information she sought, and her eloquence was excellent.
As for Erebus, in Tartarus's view, this god seemed more like a primal state somewhere between deification and non-deification.
His presence flickered, his divine power fluctuating. He was primarily focused on himself, indifferent to others.
For example, right now, while Tartarus and Nyx were conversing, Erebus paid no attention, standing quietly, his thoughts unsettled. Perhaps, like himself, newly born, he was experiencing darkness itself.
Tartarus said, "It's like this. After I absorbed the Chaos Origin, I occasionally experience sudden bursts of chaotic memories."
"The Chaos Origin?" Nyx pondered. "Just now, Sister Gaia, the Earth Goddess, said that before my brother Erebus and I were born, you predicted our birth."
"To you, it's chaos. To us, it's a foreshadowing of the future. Just now, when you mentioned the darkness, perhaps that was also referring to the future. Are you feeling the chaos now?"
Tartarus said, "Chaos gave birth to Gaia, you, and me. We are all siblings of the same generation. You are my younger brother or sister, so there's no need to address me so politely."
"So far, I've been lucid. I've suppressed the Chaos Origin within the Abyss. No new Chaos Origin is entering the Abyss. I should be more lucid in the future."
"What kind of source is the Chaos Origin?" Nyx asked.
The Abyss is composed of countless Chaos Origins, but now it has become a fully materialized abyss.
Tartarus couldn't completely decompose the Abyss into Chaos Essence, but he could control the Abyss itself, extracting a small amount of Chaos Essence from it.
As he manipulated the Abyss,
A small area of the Abyss trembled.
A black light flickered, and a fist-sized, inky black ball flew out of the Abyss and floated close to Nyx.
Tartarus said, "This is the Chaos Origin. It's not just one origin, but a collective name for thousands of origins. Chaos hasn't given me the names or essences of these origins."
The beautiful face of Nyx showed surprise. "This kind! I'm familiar with it. As the Night, I was born from Chaos."
"However, I sense that the Night contains 60% Chaos Origin and 40% Life Origin. However, the Origin has completely merged into the Night. I can't provide much Chaos Origin, but I do."
At this moment, curiosity crossed Erebus's gloomy face. He looked at the small black Chaos Origin ball and said, "In the darkness, the Chaos Origin and Life Origin are also 60% and 40% respectively."
"I sense that there are many different Life Origins on the Earth, and the Life Origin is very stable. I sense that there are many different Chaos Origins in the Abyss, and the Chaos Origin is very unstable." "Although we have more Chaos Essence within us, we are now in perfect balance. I sense danger. This Chaos Essence will harm our bodies, so it's better to stay away."
"So, I'm curious, Tartarus. Our true bodies are already perfectly balanced. Why are you absorbing the Chaos Essence? Aren't you afraid the Abyss will harm you?"
Tartarus thought to himself, "It may seem that Erebus, the God of Darkness, is curious about me, but in reality, he's curious about the threat to himself. Again, it's for his own benefit."
"No wonder the God of Darkness rarely appears in later Greek mythology. Perhaps he realized that Zeus was too powerful and a threat to him, perhaps even Tartarus, who might seal him into the Abyss."
"But his curiosity is exactly what I need. Everything is going according to plan."
Tartarus' voice dropped slightly: "For our sister Gaia."
"What's going on?" Nyx asked impatiently.
Tartarus said, "After Chaos gave birth to Gaia, the God of Earth, I, the God of the Abyss, was born."
"During my conversations with Gaia, I learned that the beautiful Earth is suffering from the deification of Chaos. I cannot bear to see Gaia suffer such harm."
"Erebus is right. Chaos harms us gods. It harms not only our deified bodies but also our true selves."
"Although I haven't become a god and haven't journeyed to the Earth, I can sense it. Unlike the chaotic and unstable Abyss, the Earth is stable, beautiful, and full of life."
Nyx opined, "So, Brother Tartarus, to protect Sister Gaia from the Chaos, you choose to accept the Chaos within the Earth?"
From his birth until now, Tartarus had noticed that the god, Nyx, had such a variety of expressions that he almost mistook him for a human. 1
But as the God of the Abyss, he could clearly confirm that she was a deity, a primordial deity possessing immense power.
Tartarus responded, "Yes, once the Earth and the Abyss were seamlessly connected. In the Chaos world, besides Chaos, we are all that exists."
"From my birth until yours, during that long period, Sister Gaia continuously infused the Source of Chaos into me, and her pain gradually diminished. My memories are sometimes distorted by the Source of Chaos."
"At first, the Abyss was the same size as the Earth, but later, the Earth grew faster and faster, becoming far larger than the Abyss. But I am very happy, for the beautiful Earth will become even more beautiful."
After saying this, Tartarus noticed that within the invisible sphere of light, the fragment of the Godhead of the God of Deception had grown larger.
The percentage on the page of the Book of Creation titled "God of Deception, Godhead" had also increased.
"As expected, deceiving a deity will accelerate the completion of the Deception Godhead. Previously, there was only Gaia, and I couldn't afford to deceive one deity after another. Now with three, I can fool more." Tartarus felt a slight surge of joy.
Although he wasn't sure what divine powers the God of Deception's godhead would grant him once complete, having another godhead was definitely a good thing.
At this moment, Nyx looked at the earth, a puzzling expression in her eyes. "You're so kind, Brother Tartarus. I can't imagine the pain you've endured."
Tartarus answered truthfully, "My pain isn't great. I just have occasional memory loss."
"We gods are immortal, and our memory loss is a significant loss for us. Brother Tartarus, you don't need to explain too much. I understand. You're truly very, very good!"
Suddenly, a primal vision of male and female sexual desire appeared in Tartarus's mind.
A beautiful, ethereal voice, indistinguishable between male and female, echoed near the three deities.
"I feel love and sex. Hello, I am Eros, the god of love and sexual desire..."
